  1. Re:FSS on Flagship Studios Going Under · · Score: 1

Its FSS's own fault really. If they would have went out of their way not to dumb down the game since beta, they might have made it someplace. But every patch they went out of their way to remove stuff people liked. Played since beta too. Saw this coming last week though and resigned my guild leader spot on Wednesday.

  5. Railroad Tycoon 1 on A History of Copy Protection · · Score: 1

RR Tycoon 1 had some of the best copy protection for back in the day. You got a book with 40 or so train engine types which were used in the game. After so many turns, the game would ask you the name of the engine it popped up. If you got it right you could continue, or if you didnt get it right, you were limited to 2 trains the rest of the match. It meant for you to keep that instruction book in good condition and not lost....

I for one have been using Yahoo as my main page since back in the early 90's when the net was really just starting. I had been dreading this deal, because had it went through, I would have had to find a new home page. I have been happy with yahoo for some 15 years or so now (golly has it been that long). I for one am glad they withdrew, peaceably from this deal. As I like Yahoo far more then MS any day of the year. I also am glad that MS did not get their hands on the millions of emails which Yahoo also owns.

Neither of them made my chimney fall, so its a good thing I guess.

One of these days the Wabash and New Madrid faults are going to wake up and this whole area will be in a maze of chaos.

Yahoo! could also do a "poison pill" - buy Redhat. There's no way that Microsoft would be allowed to buy Yahoo! under such circumstances. I wouldnt see that as a poison pill, more like red pill or blue pill.

People shop and use Yahoo, simply because its Yahoo. A lot of people, who don't like MS, like me, would simply stop using Yahoo period and switch to Google, just to avoid MS. Should they buy Yahoo, but I personally hope they do not, mainly because I like Yahoo for Yahoo, and have for well over 10 years now. I like XP, but everything else, there is an alternative to use, OOo, Wii, Phillips mp3 players. There is only very little MS makes that most folks seem to want to use, are want to be forced into buying. MS how ever, doesn't seem to get this.
