Jeez, you american guys sure are ahead of europe. We are just beginning to see the benefits of three razors I am starting to wonder if there is a real benefit in the 3rc razor or if they are just trying to rip us off... tsts...
Isn't it embarassing how the media are trying to pull us off sometimes??
You know what. I actually had a funny experience in the states (I'm german). Beeing the huge Buffy fan back then I already owned seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. Then I went to NYC to see SW Episode II (what a lame movie) and while beeing there I went into the Warner Superstore and looked for season 3 (hmm.Faith!) on DVD. The lady told me it wasn't out and that only season 1 was available in the states. Then I told her that in germany season 2 was already available. Her answer was neat: "Hey, man. Why don't you just get it shipped to the states from a german friend!". Well, obviously she didn't really get my point. But then again, she gave me the address of a great club later in the discussion.
My point beeing, I think there should be some sort of "die hard" program for TV shows. I mean like, if you have an account on the international series homepage and bought at least two DVD sets and preordered the third you can get streamed episodes from their servers or something.
But I guess this will never happen since the show creators sell their episodes to the network wich makes money out of commercials. No interest to sell the content prior to the second hand international airing.;-/
Still it feels unfair that I have to lag 2 seasons just to watch the trashy GERMAN synchronisation on TV and wait another year for the DVD release.
Come on. If you are taking the time to build a server inside a suitcase and post the story on slashdot please take that extra second to remove any smelly slippers and crumbled brown paperbags out of the way before you take a picture.
I support my mom, my neighbour, my exgirlfriend and a few friends. All of them were willing to switch to Slackware/Dropline desktops for different reasons (cheap programming environment, plain mail and office uses, no hassle with viruses and so on).
Most of the time they get free support since it is fun to teach them how to use Linux and mostly the boxes are in good shape. Regular issues are "This movie won't display / Codecs", "I can't connect to my Windowsmachines / Samba", "My instant messenger won't work / When MSN changed their protocol again *sigh*".
Back when I was fixing Windows machines I didn't charge anything since it made them feel as if they owned my sparetime and called me whenever they wanted. What's more, everytime it breaks again you are the one to blame.
Don't want to spoil the party but this is exactly the kind of services wich are illegal and cause much of the trouble for todays nations since you can't tax it. Don't get caught.
I don't scan my archives for viruses, I still have no dropshadows on my desktop, neither does clippy annoy the hell out of me, most of the programs I use are below 1.0 and still performance is up on par with my Win3.1 box from 94.
But then again, also much faster than a comparable XP box would perform. I assume.;-)
Dropline is at 2.8.2. There is built in Hal and DBus support and much more. If you want a real hot Gnome on Slack Dropline is for you, if you want a regular GUI just to get work done you might be comfortable with the stock Gnome but be aware, it will vanish soon.
I can take an MP3 to a party and have people listen to it. I can "hear" it.
Virtual gold can only buy virtual wealth and therefore never have any impact on my real life but only on my virtual life.
If I loose my digital phonebook it DOES have an impact on my RL if I loose my great sword or my cool boots in EQ2 it won't affect my RL as long as I still have one.
This should be part of "It's funny, laugh!".
and I want a small Princess Leia on my desk: "Help me Obi-Wan Keinobi, you're our only hope..."
Could it be that his PSP browsing /. adds to the /. effect of the story about him browsing /. with his PSP?
That's just because they missed out on
01:23:45 6/7/89
the year before.
Isn't this the same technology as the nightvision mode in Nokias vga-camphones?
you must be new here. Firefox /. is broken...yadayada... ;-)
Yeah, give them pills instead of bounty. ;)

Not as fast as Universal Serial Burglars or Small Computer Serial Intruders. They only steal small ones though. But really, really fast.
Here's the original webcam movie.
;-)
Sorry, had to.
Actually the "expensive" part is where Microsoft comes in.

Thank you.
Excuse me? You didn't really look hard.
If you speak of T-com you may be right but it's just one of your options.
Stops all those apps from distracting you.
German after all. But close. ;-)
And don't tell noone about my TV, will you?
To clarify: yes, actually I am german. ;-)
16% VAX. Ouch
Hm. Sorry, I got a bit confused actually.
It is illegal to fix someones computer and get paid for it with paying taxes.
It is bad style to exchange favour since this is giving the professionals a hard time to compete when they have to fully pay the VAX.

Your sig: Good one. actually got me thinking for a minute. ;-)
Ok, trying to set this straight:

And I thought it was about a fabled search engine.
