Let me guess, 99% of that 1% are SRS regulars aren't they?
I hope no one paid money for this study because this is a 'water is wet' fact right here. I'd love to know what dirt they've got on Spez to get away with breaking the rules the way they do.
because you -can't- debate with an SJW. If you try to discuss with them they accuse you of 'sea-lioning' or 'unconcious sexism' or just call you a shitlord.
there is no reasoning with this people. Their hugbox is holy and right and comfortable and oh so warm.
You dodged a bullet there; doing IT for a law firm is horrendous. they don't want to pay you what you're worth and you're working with people who argue for a living.
yeah, and if you add in the glacial pace of gameplay plus the wolf/sheep problem of pvp games, this thing is going to be DOA if the three devs working on it don't get their head out of their asses.
Yeah, but thats command and conquer...its been stuck in its own death spiral for years now, and they are basically just copying everyone elses' game mechanics.
Well that depends. Is this game going to have a demo? If I'm interested in the game and it does, the demo will give me a good idea whether or not I would enjoy more of the game. If not and I'm interested, I just might look for a pirate version to evaluate your game, then buy it if I find the game worth it.
I mean, its not like I can buy a game, find I dont like it, then return it for a refund, can I? Oh no! That would promote piracy!
I have many games that sit collecting dust because they weren't worth the CDs they were stamped on. I'm tired of being burned.
While I agree with you that the reviews are not likely a good indicator, I am still cautiously optimistic that Bioshock will be a great game, if only because it is a spiritual successor of System Shock I and II.
Your examples of games that are better, however, are somewhat lacking. While I agree that Stalker was a good game, it certainly didn't bring anything new to the table, or even really have anything resembling RPG-lite gameplay. The graphics were good, the physics were decent, but the whole thing was completely on rails, lacking any sort of alternate problem solving like we have seen in SS2 and Deus Ex.
I have not tried Quake Wars yet (but I've heard good things) nor Halo 3 (not interested), but these games have different styles.
I don't know if we can call Dawn of War and Company of Heroes 'under the radar'. I think these two games have successfully evolved the genre by introducing/combining alternate resource systems, true squads, facing/armor, and cover. The visual combination of these elements has given us RTS games with more tactical and strategic depth as opposed to 'build lists'.
Starcraft will always have a special place in my heart, and I will be following Starcraft II closely. However, the bar has been raised considerably since the time when Starcraft came out. I hope blizzard has been paying attention, and I think it likely they have...but I also used to play a Shaman, so who knows?:)
it is, but they have to use computers every day to carry out the functions of thier positions. When was the last time you had to calculate interest to do yours (as an IT professional)?
Then again, we don't really NEED to know how to do that to do our job (as IT professionals), do we?
However, the better a user's grasp is on technology, and specifically a few computer basics/intermediate concepts can do wonders in boosting tier productivity...if they would ever bother to take the time to find out.
I'm not saying that the OP is correct in giving IT HR functions and authority, but saying that the end user needs to know nothing about computers and still be productive (or as productive as a knowledgable user) is laughable to the point of absurdity.
...and when you are pressed for time, you look on the net for god mode cheats because they made some REALLY crappy design decisions in the end...like the horde of trigens in the hallway with the rocket trigen...which even if you beat, you know have to contend with 5 mercs who were hiding like scared little rabbits before you even get to a health pack, which you will need.
AND THEN MORE TRIGENS!?!?!
Fuck that. god mode to the next save point then turn it off. I bought the game, let me play it how I want.

It wasnt Venkman, it was Ray Stanz who said that you heathen.
Guess we'll be seeing less of the SJW online outrage machine then...

And this is news for nerds...how? Isn't there an SJW blog this could be posted to instead?

If they could make a timepiece, i'd wear one. who needs straps!
What, am I the only one who remembers Daggerfall, or Outpost, or Darkfall? Game crushing bugs on PCs have been around for far longer than 10 years.

It's not terrorism if you have a letter of marque!

If that is true, then you have further proven that you have very poor taste, sir.
Halo, the pinnacle of FPS gaming?
You have a lot to learn. The only thing Halo did different was those sticky plasma grenades.
You want a REAL FPS? Look up Tribes or Tribes 2 and go from there.

Well, I guess that puts the final nail in the coffin of the shaman as a DPS/Healing hybrid!
This is the first time I wish I had mod points. Mod this man up, he has an excellent overlooked point.

You are. Skate or Die was indeed a skating game from the mid 80s...
Had it for my C64.
-sniff- good times.
yeah, but you know what was neat about that episode?
:(
They kicked the baddie into a jet engine. I saw that and was like 'whoa...you can do that on TV? COOL!'
Unfortunately, Like the deertown-hobleville expressway, it proved to be an elusive beast after that point.
I second DDR...I bought it when the weather turned colder and I couldn't run outside anymore.
Of course, it helps if you don't have anyone living beneath you, damn it.
Cardboard Tube Samurai.
And maybe that wierd bit about the juicer...
