I bought the new motorolla flip phone T720 and the damn thing kept locking up on me everyday. It stunk. I never did like motorollas becouse the interface stinks and to lock the keypad you have to use both hands.
I alwayed loved Nokia. I traded my motorola and bought the 6590 and love it. It was $100 cheaper and crashed on me a few times. but never during a call!
I want to hear about you phone crashes experiances. Do I just have bad luck, or it just normal to reboot once a day?
Also I'll comment on the motorolla T720, the cool java games that come with it are DEMOs!!! You have to pay for the ful version!
I just called verizon and canceled my land line. All I have now is my cell. And I never get telemarketing calls on my cell becouse they know if they call my cell I can sue becouse they are using MY minutes.
Another thing I want to know, say you sign up, and some mom-and-pop shop that bought a telemartketing recording software calls you. What do you do? cWhat will happen? I would like to know what an individual has to do. Do you hire a layer? or does the agency do the paperwork?

Remeber when the HUMVE came out? everyone thought it was the best thing in the world.
I worked with the Army. I went to an exercize for a month, and I can tell you that they are the bigist peace of shit on wheels. Everywere the Army goes they break down. Insted of driving them in a convoy, they had to put them on a train, why? Becouse the commanders said they won't last the 12 hour drive. Everyone I talked to said they were shit.
Why? becouse the Army buys the cheapest part to run them, and the solderiers don't care about them. Like my father said, back in the day when the jeep was your life, you took are of it. Now when it breaks down, they get a replacement. Thats nice until you notice your motorpool is many miles away.
Besides the cool versions like this one, only the commanders get. Who don't drive them becouse they perfer ther nice Audi and Volvo rentacars. (Yes the commanders did ditch there tactical vechicals to drive around in new A8's)
It scares me a little about this Iraq situation. The Army people now days don't know anything. It's sad I think, and I hope they don't go into war, becouse there heads are so stuck up (we *did* kick ass in afganistan, _but_ with the help of the Birts and Canadians) I could go on more about why I feel this way. But I'll save my breath.
Remeber, Sadam is no dumb ass. The read dumbasses are the young officers who think they can kick anyones ass.
Needless to say I don't work for the Army anymoe for this reason.
I have a ATT new GSM/GPRS phone and what I did was just setup a rule to forward a copy of all my mail to my phone via SMS. It's free to recive SMS's on the phone, and I like to know when someone emails me. cure's the shakes when I'm away from the internet for more than 6 hours.
Yes, it's true. I cary mine in my walet. Saved me a few times, and people always look at you funny when you pull out a cd from your wallet.
I use it mostly for testing hardware, I wish they could include FAT32 and NTFS support with samba, or atlease ftp so you can copy files of a dead windows box... Anyone know of anything like that? I'm not a programer myself.
Good point. Most organizations I have seen don't even use there products 10%. Especialy in the Goverment. I seen people buy software just becouse it was a pretty GUI, and I heard a MCSE that was our exchange admin say once "You have to know how to write scripts to do that, I don't"
MS and the other companies know damn well that big organizations that have money don't care, and they will buy ANYTHING if they get a free t-shirt!
You can tell when someone live at home with mom. I was just doing my math to find out how much electicity a month will be to run my web server at home. It must be nice when your greatist worry if someone stole your karma points.
Try to tell that to somone who just bought a mac and want to log onto their banks website to check how much money they have.
Sad isin't it? I just moved from Germany and loved the GSM network.
I bought AT&T version of the GSM network, it's not bad, they still have some bugs to work out.
Another thing that gets me is that here in the US you pay for INCOMING calls per minute!!!
I know, it's unheard of in Europe.
IMRSAT charges around $2 a minute on specials, but some people (US Army) pay the full price of $4 a minute

hills. SF has some steep hills.
A Techie rode up with a new bike to his chess club meeting. His buddie askes, "Where did you get the bike?"
He repies, "It was funny, a sexy woman rides up on it, dropes the bike, and takes off her clothes! Then she said 'Pick one!'"
His buddie replies, "Good choice, the clothes woden't fit anyways."
Good old Chair Born Rangers!
I bet she has a hax0r son who read /. daily.
Probobly saw something about overclocking and wanted to "test the limits" of the machine.
So he took his moms powerbook for a test.
Now he is not alowed to tuch his computer, and mom has SO ebarised of her son that she didn't want to say.
Or mom was just really dumb and figured she could eat the powerbook and get smart.
Nope. I droped by ibook and bent it a little. called them up and asked them in if the $300 extrended waranty covered it. Nope.
Well if Garmin is selling this and they do make GPS' and maps. You think they would want more memory so you can add maps

Where are you going to shower?
Oh. I forgot. nevermind
You are right. The military is run by kids who think they can kick anyones ass.

Do you think that once this web browser goes gold, that Apple will dump IE on the default OS X installs? That will be a brave move on there part.
What do you guys think?

Hand picked Intel Pentium 4 "Northwood" 2.53 GHz processor
"Hey Bob, this one looks good!"
"No, it has a scratch here, keep looking, we need the best!"
I cary my wallet in my front pocket. I had it for over a year, and it still works. I also had the linuxcare one before, still have it at home.
Come to think about it, that CD has been in some crazy places - live gas chamber, 35,000 ft in the air...

Shut up Chris, you can't say anything now!
I think it was SP6 for NT that broke Notes.
It's all three, don't you see It's a great new idea that combines everything into one. One OS, one programing language, one network...
Aww, hell. I don't know. I gave up trying to find out what it is.
