Kent: Mr. Simpson, how do you respond to the charges that petty vandalism such as graffiti is down eighty percent, while heavy sack-beatings are up a shocking nine hundred percent? Homer: Aw, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. Forty percent of all people know that.
I can think of at least one director/producer who has bucked this trend: Sam Raimi
The Evil Dead series is classic, and totally low-budget. Recently, he did the two Spider-man movies, and they also turned out great, even though they were big budget blockbuster style movies.
I don't know how SCO possibly hopes to sustain another lawsuit, with the IBM one and all the counter-suits against them still pending. They have basically no cash flow (and their SEC filings confirm) that they probably won't see any additional revenue this quarter.
Looks like another publicity ploy to divert attention from the amended S3 filings they made last week that announced all the risks they "forgot about" in the original filing.
I got tired of only having read-only access to my old NTFS partition, so I ended up doing a hack of a workaround: Share the drive under my windows vmware instance, and then mount it as smbfs in read/write mode. Not elegant, but it works.
The test I do now (which I learned the hard way from early burning experiences) is to hold the cd-r up to the light. If you can see through it, chances are it won't last. The cheapo bulk disks that have nothing but a silver top are very likely to be the first to flake on you.
Also, keep your burned discs out of direct sunlight and excessive heat, both which will cause the top foil layer to come off. Even quality media will give out on you after exposure to the elements.
I know for a fact that SCO's website is hosted in an IDC here in Denver, as a friend of mine used to work there until recently.
In fact, he would point out that every time a new story was posted about them, they (at the IDC) would brace themselves for another DoS/DDoS against the SCO and other assorted domains.
These attacks do nothing but give some techs here a lot of extra work to worry about for no good purpose.
It would have been more appropriate to include a quote like...."Hey miss 'doesnt find me sexually attractive anymore,' I've just found a way to triple my productivity!"
or....
"I'll just have a tab....oh wait, no time for that now, the computer's starting!"
It's not a show, it's a block of programming targeted at adults, hence the title. If you've ever been a kid at a public swimming pool, you'll understand the title (forcing all the kids out of the pool so the adults can swim uninterrupted for a bit).
But as with all things, it's not always the technically superior product that's the standard, it's whatever is cheapest and easiest for people to get their hands on.
Yep...remember Betamax versus VHS? Ultimately the inferior standard won
This is a relief to see that the PHB-types are not buying into the FUD either. I wonder what logic Sontag would come up with to explain that statistic...?
"All Linux users are thieves to begin with, we will crush them with our mighty IP!"....or something to that effect.
What happens if you play Tetanus On Drugs while under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs?
Along those lines you could check out Jake Shimabukuro, a Ukulele player who has been making waves lately.
Check out this video of him covering The Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Simply amazing.

You cannot, however, do the initial activation with a wireless ethernet adapter...wired only.
It took me a few trips to various friends houses with phone lines to realize that's why the ",401#" trick never worked.
Oh...anyone who speaks German can't be evil!

Yes it does.
Version 1.4 of the connector was recently released to support exchange 2003
You realize of course that if more people had done this, the Slammer worm wouldn't have brought the internet to its knees.
I'd say a lot of music that's getting produced these days still falls into the "mulch" category.
Nothing a bit of rock tumbling couldn't take care of.........

I prefer Dr. Mario personally....probably one of the most addictive puzzle games around.
