This is trolling. Should never have made it past the mods. To get Xbox Live functionality you pay the Gold subscription. Always been that way. If you don't want to pay get a PS* and get much less featured and cohesive online experience.
I downgraded my subscription from 3 to 2 DVDs and turned off the Blueray option. So they will be getting a few dollars less a month from me even after the price increase.
dumb story. If woman were interested in purchasing games for consoles there would be more games tailored to them. Its not like publishers are refusing to make money. The women I know who play games at all like casual stuff Plants vs. Zombies, Peggle and Facebook games. The first two are already on console. But maybe if we made the Master Chief a chick they would come flocking by the millions.
OP is trying to start another Console/PC flame war and that bores me. Consoles will get games as long as the majority of games sales are for consoles. Who cares about eye candy? I want more involved games rather than same shooter re-skinned over and over with higher resolution textures. I want the next Mechwarrior or Chromehounds. The next MMO that supersedes WoW. They don't have to look better. They just have to be more interesting.
Because there are many more games now. It used to be Quake or Diablo. You would finish the game 3 or 4 times. Now we have 3 or 4 new games coming at us each month.
Totally agree with the OP. I remember how fantastic WoW was originally with its huge varied world to explore but there are many who feel the opposite. They only enjoy the end game and hate leveling with each expansion. Maybe that is why Cataclysm only gives us 5 more levels. I would like to see some world based end game objectives. Remember having to travel all over the world to complete quests to get the mount or build that weapon of ultimate power? Now all we do is grind tokens and hope for the hilt to drop.
I enjoyed Doom 3 as well but I won't buy Doom 4 just for graphical improvements. Its gonna have to be alot more complex and engaging like BioShock for me to consider for single player purposes and I know won't offer anything compelling in the multiplayer arena.
I hope to use linux one day on my workstation. I give it a try about once a year. This year I tried RedHat and Mandrake on one of those Dell mini workstations. I couldnt get it to run in anything better than 640x480. XFree86 has some issue with the video chip and I would have to patch and recompile the kernel or something.
Xbox 2 will have a hard drive or MS is stupid. They will want to keep X box close as possible to PC architecture so games are easily ported to Xbox. More importanly the future of the console is a multipurpose media center. It will be your PC, TIVO, game machine, jukebox and DVD player. This will certainly require a big hard drive. I doubt Microsoft will miss this boat. Windows Media Center shows that they are thinking in this direction. My 2 cents.
Sun's viable product is Solaris. If they can get people running this on x86 then Sun has a chance. I think many companies are not ready to trust their apps to Linux or BSD. I know mine isnt. I hear that Solaris on x86 isnt quite right yet though. Also major software vendors like oracle dont seem to fully support Solaris on x86. Anyway in my view Solaris is what makes Sun. Their hardware is too expensive and their Java appserver aint for shit.
Most of us probably have seen meteors or shooting stars. A meteor is the flash of light that we see in the night sky when a small chunk of interplanetary debris burns up as it passes through our atmosphere. "Meteor" refers to the flash of light caused by the debris, not the debris itself.
Asteroids are generally larger chunks of rock that come from the asteroid belt located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.
Games for linux are gonna be few and far between cause very few use it for a personal computer. Don't waste my time or yours whining. Everyone knows this is true.
top 5 things that keep me on windows: GAMES I DONT HAVE TO HACK MY WORKSTATION GAMES EASY AND INTUITIVE GAMES
really linux plays second fiddle to windows as a workstations OS and to *BSD as server OS. I don't see why it so popular. It's all just hype as far as I can tell.

You can't fix your car with broken tools.

Has Xbox 3 been announced? Seriously. 2012 NO WAY!

Buy a XBox360 and then you won't have worry yourself about all those nasties inside.

Who wants to play Quake 2 when you can play Killzone 2?

This was published 12 May 2006. Why is it on the front page today?
I agree. This author didn't try very hard. His poor son. He just wanted something to shoot his mouth off about to meet his editorial deadline:

We should probably send Geraldo Rivera to investigate. His experience with Al Capone's vault makes him more than qualified.

Nope not this year.

This is a silly response with no substance and it gets modded to 3? Sad.
Does 2.6.x have Access Control Lists (ACLs) built in?
If not when is this coming?

how come frob gets modded up 2 when I made the initial post? (nothin against frob)
If it was the size of a small house it was NOT an asteroid. An asteroid needs to be 1 kilometer. If it is under 1 kilometer it is a meteoroid.
