Verizon may be best for the entire country, but not best for every area. When i was choosing a cellular provider i did a bit of shopping around. sometimes by overhearing other customers talking to the guy at the counter about thier problems. Most of them were compaining about the quality of verizon's service. In the end i choose t-mobile.
Quality of service is not the only reason why i would choose a provider.
GSM vs CDMA: Because we in the US always have to be incompatible with the rest of the world we create the cdma standard. Generally i have found that the cdma based networks cant send sms outside of thier network or to very few others. while t-mobile to many of the networks around the world. T-mobile also can be used on many of the networks around the work, but you pay a premium price to do so (anywhere from $1-5 per minute). But if you were in those countries, it would be rather easy to just get a sim card for a local network. The last reason i like gsm over cdma, i can upgrade my handset by just moving the sim card to another phone, no programing needed.
Its about time they hand the franchise. But the question is, will the poor performance of AoD taint the series forever? After a bad game and a couple of bad movies, maybe its time to let it die.
I have to agree with you. When i first got on the internet (Around 95 i think), It was basically considered a place to get lots of information. Not many people thought about the commerical aspect, though by 95 it was slowly starting to happen.
Now its 2003, we have to constantly fight commerical messages in order to get to simple information. I dont think there is really anything we can do about it.
So i have been playing with ideas to seperate the information/knowlege part of the internet from the commercial part. But also making it avialable to all, unlike Internet2. Maybe i'll get somewhere someday. Its not too high on my list of priorities.
Is it just me? or is this an excuse to take away our liberties in the name of security?
The biggest problem with any system to prevent would be terriorists from getting in, is that no system can know a persons intentions. Look at the 9/11 terrorists. They had legal papers.
The other thing is, a terrorist doesnt have to come from outside. There enough christain fudmentalists that would be willing to do much the same thing.
I also agree that the physical format model is on its way out the door. But not entirly. I still buy cd's. But it has to be a good enough band for me to justify the $18 per CD. In the american music market, there are very few of those.
The furture of music is digital. There is no escaping it.
My future headline prediction "Music CD sales drop 20% in the wake of a campaign of lawsits by the RIAA, RIAA blams music sharing."
What happens when artists self-produce thier own albums? the record labels get 0 cents. Besides P2P, i think this is another thing they dont want to get really big.
calling it rip proof is challenging the hacker community to actully try to break it. shouldnt take too long. Since the data is decrypted at some point.
Maybe the hacker/cracker community should adopt somewhat of an ethic. If you dont know how to rip it yourself. Then you should not be allowed to download it. just an idea
Lets see here. In a court of personal opinion eurpeons are now going to be required to give those critized a chance to respond?
Well on a mailing list this isnt a big deal. critsism and response happen all the time. But i the case of blogs? That makes no sense. A blog is simply a journal or diary. The only diffrence is its avilable to the world. Do you want to response to critisim in your journal?
I have no doubt that tv as well as other media can have effects on the viewer, both good and bad. Just watch TV, and try to think about why you react the way you do.
In this case, i doubt it is the intoduction of TV is the only reason crime has increased. I think its due to the broader americanization of the culture. Which does include TV.
Who benfits from this americanization? it certainly doesnt seem like the people of bhutan do. What was wrong with thier life as it was? Yes we can have diffrent standards of living. The american one is not the only way. I think the qatsi trilogy sums that up nicly.
What they might want to do is to reduce the bandwidth dedicate to TV by reducing the number of UHF channels. Outside the larger markets, they could probably eliminate UHF altogether.
I would think that would be counter productive. if converage is needed anywhere its in the smaller markets due to the lesser avilablity of cable, and lesser ability to afford cable or satitilite.
Limiting the avialable channels might be just fine. i think there are already too many open ones.
My crux about cable and satilite is that you pay for commercials.
The art institutes offers several courses in an online format. It is much like the way you said.
To me it depends on the person facilitating or teaching. Since the art institutes have set up the course. Content and assignments. its up to the teacher to bring in other insights. From the couple classes i have taken. 1 was very good at bringing in more than what the course set up. The other just went by the book.
Its hard to say if its worth it or not. its very convenient. But i dont know if im getting everything i would like from the courses. maybe they just need time to work out the problems.
Driver optimization for games is one thing, but driver optimization for benchmarks is indeed cheating. Benchmarks are there to be a good overall unbaised mesurement of performance based on a standard approach. Now if Nvidia is allowed to tweak for a specific application as opposed to tweaking overall, it will bias the results.
When it comes to games, if they want to tweak for a specific game, im all for it. But if you want to tweak a benchmark thats rather unfair.
But then I think ATI does much of the same thing, they just havent been caught.
Never, Microsoft has never done anything that i can thing of that would be considered for the public good. Its always backed by some other purpose and that is ussually to hold the windows domination in the marketplace. I think MS is making a mistake in relying to heavily on profits from Windows and office. But if linux cant put together a good desktop OS (Thats a another subject), then maybe they are just fine where they are.
A billion dollar marketing machine. The Wachowski brothers are geniouses by making us buy every matrix product to get the entire story. The second movie makes refereces to the ship Osiris, Whose story is told in The Final Flight of The Osiris. If you havent seen it in theaters. It will be released in june with the rest of the episodes of the animatrix. ($20 more for the Wachowski brothers)
The Enter The Matrix game picks up from where The Final Flight of the Osriris left off. Part of the objective of the game is to pick up the package left by the Osiris in the matrix and take those into the plot of reloaded (Another $40-$50 for the Wachowski brothers)
The movies are going to be the big money maker. They could have released Parts 2 and 3 all in one movie and it would be on par with LotR for length. But they wouldnt get people to buy the other matrix products that will be released in between the two movies, and the will make almost twice as much with 2 movies instead of 1.
These guys are bastards, not that i hate them, i just want to be them.
Don' they already do this? They dont have thier own agents yet, but who says a large poltical contribution cant buy some FBI agents?
All your pengin are belong to us.
Is anyone actually taking SCO seriously anymore?

technicaly its still piracy reguardless of who made it.
But personally im much more willing to buy and independent or forgein film over a hollycrap blockbuster. (not all of its crap... just most of it)
Is it just me? or is this an excuse to take away our liberties in the name of security?

There were two address listed, one for an ISP and the other for a website/server hosting service.
I got the link to the page from MSN messenger itself, but who is really running this thing?
The site is here http://www4.msnmessenger-download.com/fastcash/def ault.aspx
This is another one of those cool but completly useless projects.
Seriously, if your reading this, your probably have a better computer than an Apple IIgs.
I find it interesting that its based in palistine. So when will the RIAA start supporting the Isreal army to "accidentaly" target thier building?

Gif also has an 8 bit limit. Only works when logos are limited in color and dont have much blending between the color areas.
Transparency if used is only one bit, and can create some unsightly borders. But then there is no easy way to create a smooth alpha channel.

No Neo, you have already made the choice, you will not win.
a bit of virtual choices eh?
