  1. Re:and everyone is still using floppies : ) on Blu-Ray DVDs Hit 100 GB · · Score: 1

I sometimes refer to DVD's as CD's but only as a joke, and to make a point....technically, DVD is a subset of CD. CD (Compact Disc) seems to refer to the size (compact) and physical nature (disc) of the medium, not anything about the particular digital format. Hence, DVD is a type of CD :)

  2. Re:I see on Newest Star Wars Reviews Suprisingly Positive · · Score: 5, Informative

Actually, rottentomatoes is not an average score, but a percentage of the total that are positive. In other words, if EVERYONE gives a movie the exact same score, 60%, then the movie will get 100% on RT since they were ALL positive. Metacritic actually gives an average score.

  3. Re:higher speed = lower accident rate on Hybrid Drivers Provide Real-World Mileage Data · · Score: 2, Insightful

Wow your concept of numbers is really poor. First of all from 98 to 135 is an increase of 37 (which you call a "slight increase) while the increase from 135 to 179 is 44 (which you call a "shocking increase"). How is 37 a slight increase, while 44 is a SHOCKING increase? That makes no sense. Second of all 98 to 179 is not doubling, but maybe with that I am quibbling.

No actually you are wrong. I'll say it again: Ever hear of past tense?

I guess the sentence is wrong because it doesn't have an article, perhaps it should be "RIAA set up a bittorrent server", but I think it is correct according to the grammar found on history/timelines

2005: RIAA set up bittorrent server

    Anyway.

  8. Derivative works on Star Wars Revelations - May the Force Be With You! · · Score: 1

I think there it is a crime against humanity that people are not free to make their own Star Wars movie (or any other derivative work based on any other mythology). I'm not going near the copyright issue really: if you produce you a unique film perhaps you should have the right to profit off of it for a period of time. But you shouldn't have the right to own characters or universes and anyone should be able to make their own unique film (book, etc.) similar to it.

I heard of this technique that sharpens your cornea so much that you have something like better than 20/1 vision. You vision can get so crisp that you may eventually see jaggies, because the resolution of your cornea will be better than the resolution of your actual retinal cells. Pretty cool, though I wouldn't want to see jaggies, so I'd opt for vision just below that level of clarity.

Predictive text is great it works really well, you just have to know how to add words to the dictionary and know how to cycle through words. For example, if you typed G-A-M-E you have to know how to cycle through the available words to get the word "game" if your phone thinks you want the word "hand". Predictive text is great unless you don't know how to use it.
