The whole point of buying a video game console was to not have to worry about different "tiers" of quality and performance like you have to with PCs.

With the recent generation pulling this "PS4/Xbox-Lite" crap where games run at worse performance on the cheaper consoles, it makes me wonder why should I even purchase a console when a desktop will be infinitely better in terms of cost, performance, and longevity? That ignores the fact that I could easily set on up to run in the living room.

Consoles nowadays nothing more than overpriced specialized computers for the living room, of which there are many free options available for PCs if I so desire to go that route.

And honestly, I'm ok with that. I'd like to support countries that are similar in values, culture, politics, and legal systems. Outsourcing work to the lowest bidders ends up supporting at best cronyism and bribery. And at worst totalitarian regimes.

There are hundreds of thousands of brands out there not owned by the companies listed in then pic.

Whether you chose to seek them out is another question. If you live in Europe, ironically your beloved small corner store brands are definitely owned by the same companies.

If you're in America, at least Walmart gives these small brands the opportunity to get shelf space against those companies you're deriding. Amazon? Forget about it, you're going up against huge AMS and AMG campaigns.

Want to help small companies? Go to big stores and buy them. It's that easy.

Bring it back, admit the mistake, and move on from this singular love of silly USB C ports.
