if you've the time/cpu cycles to spare, you can build it from source. Disclaimer - I gleaned most of this from web sites, news groups, etc. I'd like to give credit where its due, but don't remember all of the sources. In any event, this is how I build it...
mkdir phoenix-source && cd phoenix-source wget http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/ mozilla-source.tar.bz2 tar xvjf./mozilla-source.tar.bz2
Certainly not for everyone (heaven knows it is like pulling teeth getting my gf to run with me). But if you don't find the idea entirely repulsive, jogging is a fantastic way to keep in shape, despite long stretches in the cube.
It really does not take that much time out of your day; probably 20-30 minutes a few times a week. The challenge is getting over the physical learning curve - the first few outtings can be a pain. You're familiar with steep learning curves (emacs, mfc, LFS, etc...), right?
As Richard Dawson once said, "It's time to start running!"
So all Windows PCs in the future will have files sytems based on a relational database (i.e. SQL server).
Imagine how much more devastating SLAMMER would have been if it could have infected every one of them instead of just the ones with SQL server installed.
Responding to all of the "I told you so" Tivo posts:
The one reason that I bought a ReplayTV instead of Tivo is that I can plug the unit into my router and then download the recorded Mpeg2 files down to my primary computer, where I can then compress it into Divx or whatever.
It is the open attitude that SonicBlue represented that eventually won me over. I can only hope the D&M is good about this too. If not... MythTV is probably in my future:)
Yes, but after a near re-write between versions 2.6 and 3.0, they then skipped right to version 5.0 to get its numbering scheme more current with the other visual studio products.
That has very interesting ethical implications. What happens when pr0n is generated using completely ficticious characters in a film that would be normally deemed illegal in a country.
Since there would be no real actors (and therefore no one directly abused), it would be curious to see if legislators took steps to ban such content due to the effect its consumption would have on someone owning a copy.
You must be referring to the weirding (sp?) modules. That was stuck in the original David Lynch version in the 80's, but had no place in the Dune books.
Cool idea, and lent itself fairly well to the big screen, but not canon.
Does this mean I need to stick my eye up to a cup-thingy like at the optomatrist? ATM's get handled all the time, all day long. Seems like if not built properly, such a device could promote the spread of the common cold:(
Yes, but even though computers can be made from cells and other biological materials, doesn't mean that performance will be better than current production materials.
Cool that we can do this, but practical?
And now the non-broken link

Create the file mozilla/.mozconfig. add these:
export MOZ_PHOENIX=1
mk_add_options MOZ_PHOENIX=1
ac_add_options --enable-crypto
ac_add_options --disable-tests
ac_add_options --disable-debug
ac_add_options --disable-mailnews
ac_add_options --disable-composer
ac_add_options --enable-strip
ac_add_options --enable-strip-libs
ac_add_options --enable-xft
cd mozilla
gmake -f client.mk build
(note: the --enable-xft flag is what gets you the nice fonts)

I know this is a really lame distinction and it will certainly date me, but for the record:

Why oh why did I not read the part about NOT CLICKING THE LINK!
ACK!

How about their recent decision to release IE 7 only to Windows XP? Sounds like pretty hefty encouragement to me.

It looks like the MPAA came by and shat all over the project.
Where oh where can I find install links for Bit Torrent now?

If you are using Mozilla/Phoeinx/Camino/etc..., feel free to use and alternative CCS to rework the colors.

What this article fails to point out is that it is the very choice that OSS gives us that breed projects like the ELX, Lindows, Lycoris, and Xandros.
I'm sure these distro's would provide the author just the kind of simple environment they want.
The thought of someone modifying the same file I am at the same time as I am sends shutters down my spine.
