My main question(s) is this(these): Is ReiserFS tunable to reduce usage of a laptop HD? If not, will it? As is, it's great on low capacity (under 1 gig) drives (I'm not sure how much overhead it imposes in comparision to ext2/ext3). However, it also likes to keep the drive active, which drains laptop batteries.
I think there's currently only a handful of artists and authors that have explored the possiblities. A few webcomic artists have done it too. Check PoisonedMinds.com and Stalag99.net (the last, yes, mine, look for WolfSkunk Sidney, an AI that's just been 'born').
Here's my question. How do you actually do that? I can config DHCP to autoconfig any WLAN to.128 and above. Do you key off the IP address and cap it there with whatever program? Documenting this would be very usefull.
Oh $DEITY, thank you for slaying Buffy off of the TV. The IQ rating of every viewer will sharply increase. Just the whole premise of the show is a turn-off for me.
Ok, so here's the deal. I'm using Slackware's latest stable version which has Gnome 1.4. The only thing I use it is for the nice panels/docks where I have a few utilties on the right side of my screen.
Then Gnome 2 comes out. What do I get? It's no Gnome 1.4! The memory monitor's radically changed, half the utilities aren't there, and it enforces a get-in-your-face, hide-all-the-options interface! DAMMIT! I don't want hide-all-the-options! I don't want get-in-your-face like RedHat does! I want simple! Clean! No clutter above or below, and NO STINKING FILE MANAGER INTEGRATED WITH THE BACKGROUND!!!!
So I try KDE for a while. I get less options (but they're all accessible), a screwed-up window manager (HEY! I'M USING OPENBOX HERE!!!!), a get-in-your-face UI, and the stinkin file manager integrated in the background.
ARGH!
So I'm back to using Gnome 1.4 for just the panels and Openbox for window managing.
Now, if I can get a panel like Gnome's that doesn't require Gnome or KDE, I'll be very happy to get rid of those libraries, install GTK+ 2.x, recompile everything, and be done with it.
Director isn't on Linux at this time, so it's ether Mac or Windows. And Mac needs different hardware.
You're running XP. Simply put, XP is 2000 with Xtra Problems. More bugs, more hassles. Downgrade. It's the same NT kernel you know and love, but it's very stable IMHO.
First, they killed Zoids: Chaotic Century. They're killing off G Gundam. Now they're killing off the best block they have for ADULTS?!?!?
If they're comming out with Toonami Double-A (Action/Anime) Channel soon, *I'LL GLADLY SUBSCRIBE*. But they're alienating an increasingly large amount of folks who don't get the deal with Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Courage, Johnny Bravo, and a ton of repeats and fillers that we've seen before or can predict the plot down to the exact second.
Can we? Huh?
Aparently the part of the population that read Slashdot and don't get the joke.
ALREADY?!?!? Geesh oh wiz, I got to upgrade *AGAIN*?!?!?
...and he isn't going to explode.
(Still looking for Penguin on the Telly).
The biggest question now is if a penguin will be in the credits.
Oh oh.... BUY YOUR TICKETS ONLINE!
Technology to blow up computers. Sounds like a class action lawsuit to me!

Nukees strip on clustered PS2's.
They have Comcast listed, but they don't have Millenium Digital Media listed! COME ON! Hook up with some of the good cable companies!
(Already emailed them)

Haleulia and pass the green beer. It's not in Welsh.
BTW: If you haven't read, or tried to read, Alan's blog you won't get the joke.

Give us Lupin the IIIrd and Cowboy Bebop! YEAH! I'll gladly usher those days!

Why do so many folks watch it? The boobs?

...that in heaven there is no beer.
Um... doesn't it require GTK 2.0 at the very least?
Tell Qwest to get rid of their spammers! That'll increase capacity dramatically!

Give me a good WYSIWYG HTML editor in Linux, that doesn't have Mozilla's bugginess.
If you are just modeling for games, high-end stuff isn't for you.
Me, I'm very accustomed to QME. Alas, they're not making it anymore.
Heh. I wonder how you found out where Yahoo! Mobile was. Thanks (bookmark).
The Linux Kernel Mailing List has a FAQ on such drivers (including NVIDIA). I think it's question #19 where you can access the actual posts.
Why not match userID's, like Ebay did when it brought in Half.com? My UID for ICQ and AIM Screename could be linked together.
