MTV is an equal employer for all those good looking people with no substance. Or people who know good looking people with no substance.
Did you really expect them to make their judgement with their ears instead of their eyes. Last thing they want is some FAT ASS who made an original musical masterpiece and excepting an award on stage, bringing down ratings....
There are alot of folks (like me) who would never go the photoshop/illustrator route. For those with a medium to realistic budget, Paintshop Pro has been THE solution for years.
This Inkscape program sounds like it's worth trying. If all the linux distros get rid of GIMP in the next release in favor of Inkscape, this thing is gonna be a hit.
Let's say GTA comes out in the U.S. You live in the UK, but your aunt lives in the U.S. She buys the game for $50 for you as a gift. You rip it into UK's PAL format so your PS2 can play it.
In the eye of the industry, that aunt is a fucking pirate deserving to burn in hell. To me, she's a good customer.
There is this weird assumption that kids need to learn the controls starting with 2 buttons, 3 buttons, 6 buttons etc.
I am an adult and have seen many kids play video games today. They are flawless with jumping straight into a deep, complex game. They don't really need mario, pacman, tetris.
Innovation - We need to fix our patent system before bragging here.
Stable population - Does that count illegal immigrants? To maintain population growth. A family needs to have 3 kids. Economically this is impossible.
Population density - More spreadout land means more distance to cover for anything. That's why Japan can deploy fibre channel easier. It's a plus and minus.
Capital - The nations wealth belongs to a sub 5% of americans. Always same group of crusty old white guys.
I played the original sc in the arcade when it was surrounded by swamps of people. sc faded, and I didn't even bother with sc2.
The fighting game era is over. The last good fighting games are Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Tekken Tag Tournament. And that's pushing it compared to the fighting eras of the 90s.
IBM had Aix, they adopted Linux and run it on alot of their boxes. The end result is pretty much Linux with a little oeming here and there.
SGI had Irix, they adopted Linux and ripped the kernel to pieces to fit into their Altix hardware. End result is linux that doesn't feel like linux.
HP had hpux, they adopted Linux as a way to follow IBM and SGI's footstep. They are totally lost in translation right now.
In all these cases, not one of these companies are brave enough to ditch their main unix OS. They are doing this as a marketing thing. While hurting themselves, laying off TONS of employees. With not enough resource focus in either OS. In the end M$ is still winning, just really sucks.
This game is seriously addicting. I can't explain it. I went over to a buddies's house to play this, and I was hooked beyond hell.
To sum it up, all you do is roll shit around. I HATE Tetris, Marble Madness, columns, anything having to do with puzzles. But it's not really puzzle either. It's not in my usual sports/fps/action genre, but it absolutely kick ass in a different way.
FPS peaked at 1998-2002 when everyone wanted to be in a classic Rainbow 6, Wolfenstein or team fortress clan. The gaming atmosphere of Counterstrike now is a joke compared to a few years ago. That's sad even considering the high resolution re-release.
RTS peaked at 1996-2000 when everyone was C&C, redalert, warcraft, starcrafting. Empire Earth had potential, but the AI was a disaster.
Pretty much I played everything you mentioned. MMORPG is at the prime now. I seriously wonder if this is the last genre and end of PC gaming myself. Just trying to be honest.

Oh I have bought stuff from Mwave before, they are definitely good. Except all the shops of Mwave caliber are in California. I live no where close to it.
Need I mention the Eclipse that natively comes with Fedora redhat core4 crashes the OS immediately on execute. So many forums out there cover the hardcore details. To sum it up, Fedora core grows faster than people can test it. It's becoming M$-ish buggy.
That whole non-compete garbage is BS. Companies always try to protect themselves, but less than 1% of the people actually hold patents. Basically it prevents you from making a living / moving on with higher salary.
Just beware... somewhere in the 300+ pages of patriot act it saids in tiny size 1 WingDing Fonts, that Bush can come over your house and have a republican party any time he wants.
Honest politican wha? When are they going to launch an MTV version of politician-real-world so people know wtf is really going on.
LOL at the name. Ouch!
Last good modern Zelda game was Ocarina of Time. Though I'll play Adventures of Link on NES 8-bit anyday over all of today's Zelda game.

RE the movie was way better than Mortal Kombat analnation, Mario, Double Dragon, Streetfighter... combined.

But this is lame statistics.

Bring a couple hundred viruses into the office, they'd be glad to not use proprietory windows afterwards.
Customer: Do you have GTA San Andreas?
Store: You look too young, kid.
Customer: I am 25.
Store: The warning saids over 20 years old only. You look 19 at most.
Customer: I'll show you my license.
Store: I need to see that, and also whether you have reached Puberty. Drop em. I need to inspect for genuine Pubic Hair.
Customer: Sigh. That's the 3rd time this holiday season.

Hey if it was strictly for CPU performance reasons, they would have picked AMD. It's obviously beyond that.
Why don't we do ourselves a favor and label all politicians conservative.
All this democrat/republican garbage is all the same nowadays. Mayor Ventura said... "We have 1 more choice than Iraq."

That is hidden content to be released 2 years from now when sales have slowed down.
Not until Weapons of Mass Piracy is found first. Which should be on CSPAN any minute now...
This is the most fair post today.
Meanwhile anyone who thinks M$ will release this Christmas with no major problems is on crack. The company has never been on time for anything.
Who do you help?
Those innocent till proven guilty
OR
Those craving for a UK Patriot act

I graduated a long time ago. I am not looking. Just trying to help CS majors who recently graduated. Pixar/Apple are you kidding me...
