Whether you want to see all of the political information on screen or not is one thing, but Starship Troopers turned the political segments into a straight parody of Heinlein's views. You shouldn't piss on the author while making his book into a movie.
As far as his views in ST being fascist, I disagree. They're not mainstream, but not totalitarian either. There was a democracy, you just had to earn the right to participate through community service. I'm not 100% sold on the idea, but it has some merit.
IANAL, and you are, but it seems to me that there are two issues here.
What is a reasonable estimation of damages? Does the statutory damage award have to bear some resemblance to the damages.
Gore and Campbell appear to only address the second question. The first is still very open. I don't think either side is arguing that correctly. To me $21 is just as wrong as $675000(though possibly less damaging to society). The real answer lies somewhere in between, but both lawyers are arguing the interpretation most beneficial to them(probably cause that's their jobs). In my mind the judge should put damages at some estimated seeding ratio * number of songs * punitive multiplier. I think 10*21*3=$630 would be about right. That's enough to be a deterrent to most, but not enough to ruin someones life for a trivial offense.
I'm particularly not crazy about stem cells being cultivated, and possibly embryos destroyed, for frivolous treatments.
I'm not particularly crazy about you not realizing that this has nothing to do with embryos even though the article summary(not even the article itself), mentions twice that the stem cells don't come from embryos.
First off, not only did you not RTFA, but you couldn't even read the headline. The whole point of the article is that AT&T is *NOT* going to turn off your service without a court order.
As far as them being jerks for sending you a letter, I would think you'd like the heads up that whatever you're doing(legal or not) is drawing the attention of the RIAA. This is about the best policy one could hope for from an ISP.
You must have gotten that Motorola Q from someone other than Verizon. If you plug a regular USB cable into a Verizon phone(my old RAZR), you get an "Unauthorized Charger" message. They may have changed since then, but you can't be certain that just because the plug is standard the charger is too.
I pulled up to a diebold ATM the other day. I saw the normal banking screen, but I also saw the windows XP taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Since the monitor was a touchscreen I poked the command prompt icon on the quick lauch bar. It came up. In the admin's home drirectory. If had wanted to do anything more I could have used the on screen keyboard app that comes with windows.
Kids these days. I had to sacrifice half my cattle to Zeus, just to get one stray bolt of lightning, and then you were lucky if he didn't fry your ass with it just for fun.
I have to say I'm glad to see BTX on this list. It seems like it was developed soley to make up for the stupid amounts of heat generated by the P4, with no regard for making anything else better than ATX. How about standardizing all those case connectors into one block of plugs, or consolidating the 3 power connectors I have to hook to my motherboard. If I'm going to switch form factors, I want these obvious things taken into account.
Dude quit whining about PVP. I routinly go into Arathi Basin as a lvl 40, fighting against lots of 49s, and I'm still effective. Myself and my roommates are 40, 42, and 43. We've run into parties of 5 guys 35-49, with at least 3 over 45 and kicked their asses. With good teamwork you don't have to be the highest level.
But the only thing Blizzard is doing that differently from EA (and companies like that) is that they're taking time and care to actually polish their titles.
Actually, that's the first time anyone has done that with a MMORPG.
No the Public Domain was never intended to have the viral nature of the GPL. The whole point was that after a reasonable amount of time, you don't have control of your work anymore. In return for the government giving you a monopoly on your work(yes they give it to you, copyright is not a right) you give the rest of the world your work to do with as they please. Or at least that's what was originally planned. Now it's been corrupted all to hell.

I agree with you. They're not only creating jobs, they're creating jobs for stupid people, which is the hardest kind of job to create.
If his doctor told him to start jogging would the government buy him new Nikes?

Google "capitalism" sometime. Its amazing the things people will create to try and make money.
And what if the domain name you wanted wasn't actually available?

That's not the half of it. From the GW website:
This also means that we cannot allow tattoos as an acceptable use of our IP as a third party necessarily has to perform the "service."
So if i get a Tattoo of one of their trademarks, exactly what do they plan to do about it?

So no, their other machines aren't secure either.
MMX=MultiMedia eXtensions.
AMD gets to use it because of thier reciprocal licensing agreement on x86.

Don't be a moran
That's the funniest thing I've read all day.
Actually, you'd do well to be judged by your cooks. Church potlucks are generally good eatin'.

That's not what she was complaining about. She wants the Ipod not the ITunes.
Yeah, and I really hate how they read all my email to filter out the spam too.
Nope. All of which have Toyota engines in them. In Japan your lexus is still branded a Toyota.
Will an Apple Store actually do that for you? Will any old 1 GB DDR 2700 work?
