The only thing that Apple could really bring to the table in this department is firewire, which really doesn't matter at these small sizes. There are already SO many flash players out there (some which are downright tiny), and without a screen, I don't see the point.
That is of course, if this is true...
Ignoring which team was better each year, the odds are 1/2^14 that the game would predict the outcome of the election (14 elections since 1944). That's.0061%, roughly.
Of course, you gotta realize that they look at all the games played over the years and look for patterns, and ANY football game of the season could possibly be a predictor of who will be elected. In the NFL, there are 32 teams, which have played about 8 games each so far this year. So total number of games played = 32 * 8 / 2 = 2^7. that brings our odds to 2^7/2^14 = 1/2^7 =.75%. Not at all negligible.
Now you can start including multiple criteria for each game. For instance, if the total points stored in the Redskins game is over 30, the incumbent wins. Or, you could change it to a certain party winning. And we're just considering football, imagine if we included games from other sports played this year. The sheer number of baseball games almost guarantees that one annual match-up will be a good predictor of any "coin-flip" event such as a presidential election.
So, the moral is, this isn't the least bit extraordinary.
I run some N-body simulations myself at UCI, and having dealt with systems that have run for eons with 100 - 200 bodies, I can say that these systems tend to take the shape of a blob with perhaps some overall rotation. The spiral arms form because of local interaction between bodies having more effect on the motion than the central gravitational attraction. This doesn't really occur until the numbers of bodies simulating the galaxy gets way up there (into the millions).
So now the prison system will be keeping DANGEROUS FILE SHARERS off the streets, while at the same time Los Angeles is releasing thousands of prisoners early becuase of a lack of funding. I'm sure glad that John Q. Empeethree won't be hassling our celebrities anymore! Whew!
I really would like to know how much each competitor was helped by parents/people in the field. Neither of my parents have any college education (and one didn't make it through high school), so I can speak from experience that not having a scientist/engineering background makes life a whole lot tougher when you get into the field. Were these awards picked simply on end results? Or did they "normalize" the field by throwing out those who had two PhD's for parents?
I think this has a snowball's chance in hell of actually being ratified. This isn't the terrorist-frigtened congress of 2001, you aren't going to be able to slip this under people's noses this time like with the DMCA. I can guarantee that only one of those 33 countries will be pushing this. Guess which one.
I'm just curious if there are any third-parties (U.S, Europe) out there keeping track of China's manned space mission to see if they actually succeeded. Not that a major world power would EVER lie!

...particularly in the field of self-diagnostics. The Columbia disaster would have been preventable had there been more ways to detect damage on the exterior of the shuttle other than a camera pinned to the ground. Perhaps an array of sensors along the heat shield could report about the integrity of the vessel. Even external cameras are a possibility. A solution as simple as these could keep the aging shuttles flying safely for several more years while a more advanced space solution is developed.
I do not think the problem involves the size of the shuttle. Certainly, the exact same thing could happen on a smaller ship, and you sacrifice the huge carrying capacity of the shuttle by going smaller.
Well, I'd spin it for you, but you know, ain't no one going to hear it. Our broadcast range is only 23 feet which makes us the most powerful jazz station in the entire US of A.
Tux was spotted sporting a brand new tie today, just in time for the summer fashion season. When news agencies attempted to ask him about his new look, a strong gust of wind inflated the gigantic tarp hanging from his neck and he was dragged up into the sky.
Foolish PC users! Us Macintosh people will be entirely unaffected by these exploits......because Adobe is starting to stop making programs for mac...:(

Firebird!
What, did you think it was going to be KnoppiXMAME? Come on, it's OBVIOUSLY a ROM emulator! Duh!

Unless this "robot" is a block of cheese, it's probably going to be fairly animate.

All those hermits who never leave the house are going to be able to vote. How long do you think it will be until they repeal the Sun?

Don't you remember what happens in Return of the King? When Gandalf cuts off Frodo's head and hands, and hurls him into Mt. Doom?
Oh no! I hope no tennis courts or olympic-sized swimming pools get damaged when the next big one hits!
