Yeah, explain that, if you will.

My guess is that they really didn't know the language, per se, just the translation.

Or it could be a plot hole.

Then DVD would cost more. Part of the reason the format is so popular is because it is cheap to produce.
Now, if it were optional, that'd be cool. I vaguely remember some sort of CD player that you'd have to put the CD in a special case first, and it'd read it while in the case. The case could also be used for storage.

Have you tried to use Dragonfly (Drexel's wireless network)? Coverage is spotty as hell. Maybe if you're outside you can keep a stable connection, but I know I don't walk with my laptop out... get run over by one of those damn landscaping trucks driving through the quad.
I had 1 lecture where I could access the network, and that was in the CS building. My dorm I could get a weak connection, but it would drop randomly.
Overall, its good as a backup for the wired network, but its not good on its own.

Oh, its all Onorico equipment, btw.

Then you obviously missed the point of the series... you think DBZ is godly, don't you? Your description of the series really shows you didn't watch much more than maybe 6 or 7 random episodes, not a good bit to judge a series as a whole on.
Its not an action series, it never claimed to be. Its made to be a sort of mystery/suspense series, which is does exceedingly well.

Chances are you don't, but most of the people I know that run LAN parties routinely contact the companies when they have one coming up. Often times, the companies will supply a few copies of a game or some hardware or other merchandise. I have two heat.net shirts from such parties. Hell, I was at one where they had Razor Boomslang mice provided (when they were new and cost like $100)

Some games are simple in control, but need some thought to utilize said controls.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time has a pretty simple control system, but it can be challenging in learning how to use the Prince's abilities effectively. When there's 4 big sand creatures with swords as big as the Prince, you need to pull off some fancy stuff :D

    Remember, the games came first.

Uh.. as far as the mail goes... the show took so liberties, but the characters in the show were using flashmail, which is what you use to arrange parties. For the most part, it never went beyond that.

Inventory.. yeah, I agree that's a bit bad.

Equipment... maybe your members are broke?

And as for the towns, do you need all that room? They're too big as it is half the time. But we can explain this by saying the version the anime characters used took too many resources on the servers as the players increased, so they scaled down towns. Remember, its a 3 or 5 year (something like that) difference in time from show to game.
