I've bought perhaps 8-10 CDs with "copy protection" over the past few years. Some of these where so crippled that my (very old but functional) CD-player wouldn't play them. The solution? Make a copy!
I still have not come across a CD that won't rip through standard Linux GUI applications Kaudiocreator and/or grip. Usually I start with Kaudiocreator which will rip 90% of copy protected CDs. If it doesn't work out, I think perhaps they manufacture rw-errors on the disc, I switch to grip which will rip the remaining 10%.
This is a hassle for me, and it's ridicules that I have to make a copy of my CDs in order to play them, but it's not a real problem since open source CD-ripping software obviously is superior their Windows equivalent.
But, Suse's own site [suse.com] explains it's a chameleon named Geeko.
I did not know that:-) strikes me as a silly name for a chameleon. I still want one of my own though. Guess next year...
Oh but really. You don't have to run it when you're not configuring something. I guess the lazy guys just lets the deamon run constantly. I do that at home, but I wouldn't keep it alive on a box that actually -does- something. You can always start it when needed.
Is that so?
I was under the impression that Nvidia had far better performance in OpenGL than Radeon.
But whatever. Since you allways have to spend at least half a day installing the Radeon drivers while the Nvidia ones are up and running i 7 seconds, it's really not much of a choise anyway.
32K!!!? We would've been happy to have 32K! We had to get up at 3 o'clock in the morning, one hour before we went to bed, have a fist full of gravel for breakfast and flash our 2K clean by licking it, byte by byte. 32K! Ha! Luxury!
My suggestion would have to be lin#, pronounced linsharp.

Didn't they do a Forthran compiler for the Altair first? And then they got pissed of when the hackers at homebrew computer club shared it with each other.
I do think Mr. Gates has done a great deal in computing but I do not consider him a hacker simply because he do not obey the so called 'hacker ethic' - that is, hack and share your hacks with whomever wants them.
But what will we then celebrate on 22 Oct?

Using the translation extension English->German:
"The, MSN, the!"
Offer him 50K USD to make him behave as if he was released under a BSD-license.
Am I the only one who reads RFID as:

This is Leviethan's boss posting. Yes, as a matter of fact we just got an opening.

Let's focus on the legal issues!

It's funny to hear him speak.
It's even more funny to hear him sing.
