    you're supposed to buy the $20 Wildfire, which contains the source for JA2. then you can use the source to change the game or make mods.
    so, the game is not public domain, your still supposed to pay for it

    to actually count as a felony you'd have to distribute content worth more than $2500 (though more than $1000 is still a misdemeanor), and you have to do it "willfully", so i dont think it applies to many of the 'fair use' applications people here seem to care about

    string theory does not predict anything that could be tested, so there is nno evidence for/against it.
    this is also why quite a few people feel its more philosphy than science

    while ion engines are efficient, they also offer very poor acceleration. since, i guess, this robot would have to manouver quite a bit, ion engines wouldn't be very useful

    Anti-hacker laws - Aren't there laws that make it illegal to use someone else's computer without their permission? Well surly forcing a computer to display something against the user's will would count.
    your not forcing the computer to display the message, since users can easily turn it of. now, i agree that its immoral because most users dont know how to turn them of, but if it would be illegal, could you not make the same argument for most IM? after all, if i contact somebody on ICQ, their computer will pop up a message, without asking the user first

    It's true the IE edit box works slightly differently -- you click it once to select everything, then again to select words. And you can double click sections to select just a word. In Mozilla it's totally different; you can't select words automatically, and you click once to select individually and then again to select it all (I think.. today I finally uninstalled it).
    using firebird 0.7, the address bar works exactly like you just described. i click once to select everything, and i double click on a word to select it

    Also it's up to 1.5 and they still don't have middle-click scrolling. I've tried mozscroll and whatever the other two projects are. Three projects and they're all painful to use.

    im wondering if MOO3 would have been more succeful if they hadn't marketed it as such, and thus not piss of all the MOO fanboys. i think the game does have its strongpoints (or would, if it hadn't been released seemingly unfinished), but its just a different game than the earlier MOO games were

    i agree, they do seem to get posted here a lot, especially if they get posted in pairs, one for the start and one when its finished.
    then again, i actually find the comments to them quite interesting usually, so i wouldn't want them removed. i guess there could be a new topic for top lists, so people that dont like them can exlude them
