that they should stick to what they have been able to do best: printers.
I have found HP laptops and desktops to be subpar on average, I have found the same for the HP iPaq that I used for a while (linux might finally be availible for it! (h1910))
anyhow, if I am to recommend a PC I tend to go with Dell, or Apple (finally switched)... but when I recommend a printer it is ALWAYS HP.
Didn't duke from duke nukem (the original) drink cola to up his health?

just buy refurbished dell 700mhz machines (for 149 a pop a year ago (w/98 which you could sell?). get one dual 370/1GHZ with a good amount of ram and install the k-12 linux terminal server distribution.
this would provide a desktop environment to each of these machines that is quite secure, as well as very easy to put back to its original settings (REBOOT).

people with mental illnesses can have great lives if treated (medically, and socially) properly. there is no reason to give up on any goal, or life dream.
I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 two years ago and have had a hell of a time with it, but with proper support I have made it back to mainstream life and have a great job to look forward to.

I had way to much caffeine one day and my heart stopped for a period of time, I thought I was going to die which really sucks...
Which PDAS will be supported?
wince sucks, and my h1910 was a terrible dissapointment, (I went back to my old palm) can't wait for a version of linux to come out for it.
mechanical watches can "take a lickin' and keep on ticking" unlike a palm, or linux based device, which although the software is stable the hardware is still easily damaged in comparision to a all mechanical based device.
I used to drink lots of soda, but I gradually worked how much I drank everyday down to 1-3 cans of cola a day... If I want cola later then I will drink decaf coffee in the morning, etc
start out w/cheap power strips on all outlets. For the computers + clocks I use an APC UPS. I generally have 2-3 heavy duty 25-50 foot extension cables running around the edges of the rooms and under carpets. for the phones I use APC surge strips (the APC stuff is insured, if stuff gets fried they buy me new stuff).
"Hello Slashdot! Due to the "effect" I am currently moving all shon.org content from the land-of-expensive-bandwidth to the Qube itself. We should be back up in about an hour."
seriously... does he really think that there ol' box can handle the "effect"?
anyone know when this will be availible for the HP ipaq h1910? Pocket PC 2002 is such a dissapointment that I hoped to put a linux distro on it hours after I got it.... I saw nothing about this on the site... any info would be much appreciated:-)
I've found that buiness week ought to stick to buisness... their technology articles are usually similarly shortsighted. as an example you could look back to their portable video player review which said converting a dvd to divx was "illegal" when its not (covered under "fair use" provisions of the dmca)

to control your home theatre of course... duh
they didn't give him a copy of Hacking The X-box... this would help his technology interest greatly.
