Considering that Pluto orbits both inside and outside of Neptune's more circular orbit, even if on a slant to the ecliptic, what are the chances they could collide someday? Is there a common point both celestial bodies (note how cleverly I've avoided the use of the now obsolete term 'planet') have both passed through at some 4th dimensional offset (time for those of you in Rio Linda) from each other?
"For those of you in Rio Linda..." You're a fucking idiot. You've never been here and you don't have any reason to be disrespectful. Go be a Limbaugh parrot somewhere else.
A show in which people volunteered to go through a *real* space training program, say the equivalent of NASA shuttle crew training, could have been interesting and would have taught the audience something. It also could easily have put the audience through the same voyeuristic "look at human nature" experience reality shows are supposed to be good for. (Whatever.)
I think you give the standard American viewer far too much credit.
The same people that watch "American Idol" and "Wifeswapping" have no interest in the NASA space program. Otherwise the NASA channel would be right behind Fox in viewership numbers, and the ad revenue generated would have seen us on Mars already.
This is a radical departure in gaming.
Imagine! A card-type game, in which one can purchase expansion packages and collect unique cards and develop strategies based on these cards.
I forsee many other properties being licensed for this type of game in the future.
*yawn.*
Me and my gf live in a nice size 1BR downtown for a cool two grand a month.
Unreal.
I rent a 3 bedroom house with attached garage on a corner lot in a suburb of Sacramento for $610 a month.
Hope your landlord enjoys that money.
"One wonders why someone that can't afford food would have spent money on a computer on which to play these games."
In 1999 I was gainfully employed by a well known design house and type foundry. I did a lot of work from home. In 2000 the bottom fell out of the dotcom biz. I was unemployed and needed to support my wife and 2 children, So I applied for and recieved Unemployment benefits and Food Stamps. It kept me going until I got back on my feet.
So, I didn't buy a computer rather than having bought food. I posessed one already.
And another thing... That's what the food stamp program is there for, getting people back on thier feet. Granted, there's a lot of abuse, but when it's needed it should be used, without the sidelong sneers and disdain from people like yourself.
What pisses me off about this is how myopic this guy is. He's a fool if he doesn't realize that I continue to buy games at a rate that outpaces what I used to slam into quarter slots when I was 16, but I'm also buying games, consoles, magazines, and online subscriptions for my *3* children!
So, they've copyrighted a way to eliminate tellers, huh?
No big deal. In my experience tellers and branch managers have thier hands tied by corporate policy and the FDIC anyway. There's no REAL level of customer service anymore. It's all just servicing the customer.
Ever visited a website for a movie that had been released 3 or 4 years ago? The sites just sit there on a server somwhere, ignored largely.
I had a friend commit suicide rather suddenly a few years ago. His site is still up at AOL. I can still read messages he posted and see pictures of him here and there on the net. He left quite a digital legacy.
It's truely intersting, the things we leave behind and we don't realize it.
Worst backup solution ever.
In this case, that would be MySpace Jones.

The Boy Scouts of America are the software Police now?
Shouldn't they be out eating Brownies?

Maybe they can put a ton of popcorn kernals and a 55 gallon drum of butter in the living room.
Me too.
oh, shi+++NO CARRIER
I've found this one to be very fun. Yhe card packs are under $5 each, and they've just released an expansion pack.

Thank you Bill Gates for creating a niche for my anti-spyware, virus-removal, data-recovery business!

Customer service will still suck.

I've already downloaded my copy. :)
The seminal ambient work: Brian Eno's "Music for Airports."
Sufficiently subdued- won't irritate your caller. I liked the 40's comedy radio suggestion as well. That's what I'd like to hear.
A study by EarthLink found that the average user has 28 spyware programs on their computer!
Yep- 28. And I'm getting $60 an hour to get rid of it.
Lemonade, boys. Make lemonade.
"Even if you're Christian, Iraq is the oldest place on earth." Actually, I think the Earth is the same age all over. But that's just me.
Isn't CART a misnomer? I thought they changed over to ChampCar and IRL?
Will they be bankrupt in 48 hours as well?
More bullshit Halflife 2 news that doesn't involve a release date.
Point taken.
By suddenly I mean he seemed very happy and in control of his life. He was well in control of his mental health. So really, his suicide was a shock.
He wasn't smoking crack and speedballing heroin 12 times a day, and he didn't have $6m debt. Put it that way.

I can;t even fill my 30Gb Nomad. What the hell are you going to do with 60Gb?
