As far as I can remember Sony's hardware is all about proprietary stuff. The other day a friend of mine was looking to buy a Sony mp3 player, I told her "Sony doesn't sell mp3 players." Heh.
Sure you can configure a default password for machines straight out of the factory, but it wouldn't be hard to program the ATM to require that the password be changed immediately. Like, you know, user accounts....
I also think the point made was that when you stole the CD, you have rights to THAT COPY. You did not steal rights to ANY copy. So if THAT COPY is destroyed/stolen, then you lost the rights to THAT COPY.
To Kill a Mockingbird was required reading for me - I was assessed on it for my Literature class. A great work IMO, really cuts to the core on racism. Can someone tell me why it was banned?
Please name one thing inside SP2 that's worse than in SP1. The enhanced firewall? The security center? What on earth do you have to complain about? Sure it's not perfect, but it was clearly a step forward. And all that offered for no extra charge*!
Instead, I'll just register me another dyndns account

Er you're not supposed to do the counting in base 10...
So you're recommending we have exceedingly low expectations, just to pat ourselves on the back when we exceed them?
I'm sure there's data to be extracted out of that relationship
These are very different times. Surely you don't disapprove of a fighter built for a current purpose?

I hereby propose the idea that everyone in this thread is an astroturfer. :p
My favorite flavor.

Covering your ass is much more cheaply established (not to mention more trusted) simply by publishing your idea then citing it as prior art.
"Computers have the advantage of being impartial (if that is how they're programmed) and unlikely to make mistakes"
You'd trust the impartiality and reputation of a company over that of several volunteers?
I betcha Beorn won't appear there either. And half the dwarves will be removed.
I wonder if this, and subsequent patches can be reverse-engineered so as to render WMDRM useless.
