Maybe the article did not make it clear enough. This will be a joint effort, in order to maintain our priority of getting on Mars first. The server which will host this will be placed on mars by the astronauts. That way, the information will be nearly unreachable.
Given such freedom, hipsters can let their inner dork out for a romp, extolling the virtues of the Arcade Fire by night and retreating to their headphones by day for a Hanson or Boston fix.
I think that Boston and Hanson are two totally separate things. Boston can be filed quickly under Classic Rock, but any god fearing man who listens to hanson even behind closed doors, in my book, might need a psychiatric evalutation.
OK,I have to say it. No modding me down just cause!
Is it really of the most value to teach elementary school kids about using Linux? What benefit do they have here? What percentage will ever use that knowledge in a IT type job, and what percentage will go up to Windows workstations later in life(or high school) and declare that they have no idea how to do anything because they've been using CLI to do everything up until junior high! Ok, so that may be an exaggeration, and I know how similar Windows and many popular desktop environments are, but you have to admit, there are differences.
Agreed. You shouldn't have to buy a $500 dollar video card for your $350 PC so you can play a $60 game. Personally, that's why I stick to the PS2. No extra hardware, just stick in the CD and know it will work every time. PC gaming depends on too much to worry about.
From TFA: They asked me why I was visiting Canada. I was to visit a friend I met on World of Warcraft, Cara. They took down her name and what I could remember of her address. They asked me how we met.
Now, you understand, I do a little online gaming. Personally, the MMORPG thing kinda turns me off. Furthermore, I'm not certain that when you meet someone in an online game that it would be totally neccecary to meet them in person. just how much is this trip costing the guy, anyway? I have no question that the kid was innocent, but if I were one of the detectives responsible for questioning the young man,I would believe that travelling to Canada to meet a lv. 18 Elf Archer that you've never met before is indeed of a questionable nature.
Personally, I'd like to see him tackle a Super Mario live-action thriller. Pick your version - 3, Super Mario world, I don't care. I just want to see a man apply and use a flying raccoon tail in CGI.
Maybe I'm going overboard. But it angers me to no end when I see one of my senators giving BS speeches about how games should be regulated.
Maybe indeed. No flame intended, but I think that the rights for adults to make any kind of decision about how they want to use or waste their own time will always be defended. Children(i.e. under 18) can't always be guaranteed the same rights...and I think that's ok.
Furthermore, I think that most "reasonable" politicians know the difference between junk science and fact. I think the general population(i.e. the voting public) also knows that when senators do give BS speeches about this kind of thing, that it really is BS, and maybe they should focus on more important political endeavors than putting kids who have bought M-rated games in jail. I'd say articles like this are of little threat.
At the company I work at, we had a lady use a foot mouse and Dragon Naturally Speaking, all at once. Apparently, she looked like she was going into shock and talking to herself all the time. And she never, ever used her hands.
My favorite: MC Husky, produced by me. Go to http://music.randombeats.com/ and click on "MC Husky - Outcast. Only about 1 or 2 minutes. (P.S. for interested parties, I should clarify that I'm the producter, NOT the rapper. Not *that* dorky...ok maybe)

we know it was us that scorched the sky. At the time they

that's really funny....

If you're unsure of the meaning of gravitas, maybe you should look to Stephen Colbert for the answer.
This must be why Bush is offering tax cuts for owning SUV's! It all makes sense now!

Remember XP's desktop cleanup wizard, which attempted to help people remove things from their desktops that they didn't use often?
Maybe you're not familiar with the functionality. The desktop cleanup wizard removes icons that are used often.

Now if only I were a fan of some of Universal's Artists.
Ick. That must be why they're free.

Love to see Uwe Boll try to tackle that one.

Ok, I'll bite: "In soviet Jersey, robot parking lots park YOU!!!"
from the picture, it looks like John Romero is trying to be a bit like Derek Zoolander.
ME? I level up every time I fix someone's computer and close a help desk ticket.
Does this mean that the typical /. basement crawler is now an endangered species as web hermits take over the world?
You could say that...It's not like any of them are reproducing.

bacteria, not a virus. Your data's safe.
....or is it? MWAHAHAHA!!!
E. Honda, as he reminds me of your mother.
Somebody, please mod waaay up. I laughed so hard when I read this I almost blew Ramen noodles out my nose.

I think it was at least a year ago that the EU would fine microsoft every day.
Scratch that. If I RTFA, I would know that that was exactly what they said in 2004.
That's for sure. This has been going on for quite some time. I think it was at least a year ago that the EU would fine microsoft every day.
I saw on G4 once(AKA the dork channel) this thing on the God of War team, and I kept thinking, "wow, that team seems so small to me!"
Changed the way I look at "big-game" dev.
Is this really the most valuable work a TEAM of physicists can be doing? What about global warming, finding efficient fuels, etc.
