Yes yes a thousand times yes, video games are art. Images, sound, story and interactivity all work to create atmosphere, emotion, reactions and entertainment. That's art by definition. The best examples of this are, as stated before, Ico and Shadow of the Colussus. Games like Metal Gear Solid and it's sequels advanced cinematic storytelling in video games and are notable examples as well. Just because there is an interactive component does not mean it is not art.
I work at a web design company now and I've encountered two crazy voodoo happenings.
First, it seems that in certain circumstances how elements appear in Internet Explorer can be affected by white space. Those twats. Anyway, you just delete the white space and put the code on one line and you're golden.
Next, for some reason, our web server is a testy sonovabitch. Occasionally after I upload a webpage with additions/corrections the website will not display the updated page. Yes, I know I'm uploading the file and I've tried it numerous times. It will often take minutes for the page to update. However, I find that all I have to do is go take a piss and when I come back the page is working. Maybe it has a shy bladder too.
Exactly. I will get a PS3 because I'm a huge fan of the Metal Gear games and I want to play MGS4. However, Dead Rising is making a 360 look pretty appealing right now. But it's the only game that really does it for me.
I was going to comment on these very games myself. Well played. The thing with Ico (and to a slightly lesser extent Shadow) is that it didn't get to be popular with the consumers, but was amazingly praised by critics and people who actually played it.
The "evil" here is a bit more complicated though. Yes, it would be _good_ for the people of China to have unrestricted access to searching the internet. Who knows, it may spark a revolution, of some form at least.
However, there is also the issue of respecting the customs and regulations of countries, which is a more present "good" right now.
In short, this is more complicated than Google r teh evil!1
So... people are supposed to just accept that they wasted $400 on a broken machine? I think not. When we purchase something we expect, with good reason, that the product is working and works as it is advertised. If we spend hard earned money and find out that the product does not work and/or does not work as advertised we get mad, and that's perfectly reasonable. This is one case where litigation is perfectly reasonable.
TFA summed up: Researchers discover that people curse to express themselves
Ok, yeah, that's a pretty obvious conclusion. We, as people, generally don't spout things for no reason (no, I don't want to hear an example of [insert politician here]). Curse words are very descriptive, emotionally charged words that give a huge amount of emphasis to things we say.
Example:
"That sucked."
Cursified and intensified: "That FUCKING sucked."
Though I admit the electrodermal reactions recorded from hearing a curse are interesting. It gives a physiological tie in to the concept of using language in a way to convey or induce feeling and emotion.
I was going to say something exactly like that. I love the Matrix universe, I liked Bound alot, I like their comics, and this movie looks really good so far.
[Hippy talk]Perhaps we are on the same wavelength.
This is all a product of our collective Attention Whorishness. We all want people to pay attention to us, we want to look cool. People make blogs because they think people care, and that they will read their totally creative and interesting life stories.
But that's not even the worst part. Here's an excerpt from someone's Xanga blog that I happen to know: "He said please let me give you a ride home with tears pouring from his eyes and I said no no no and ran the other way crying as I am still right now just remembering what happened. So I started to walk away looking back every once in a while hoping, praying he would come driving back to me. Picking me up saying that my world will be a little easier. And he never came and never came and never came. Which made me cry even harder."
She just exposed the long-kept secret that women are manipulative drama queens... on the blog that her boyfriend reads... that his friends read... and that his parents read!
If someone would like to help form some kind of terrorist organization (more COBRA less Al Queda) to rid the world of Blogs, and hell Reality TV while we're at it, please contact me.
A simple google search for "Sophia Stewart" turns up no reputable sources. A bunch of Black man against the White man sites, yes, but no reputable news sources.
I'm calling BS on this whole thing.
How can you possibly think this is a reliable source with so many extra Z's?
Quote: "The Terminator & The Matrix Series, both creationz of Sophia Stewart have amassed more than $2.6BILLION! To date, she hasn't received a dime!"
I've read many literary masterworks. Most that don't even have to do with the future (gasp and awe:O). Partly because of this I find the Matrix trilogy and the universe absolutely beautiful. So many people expect a movie to give them answers, these movies present questions. It's an intricate kung fu, sci-fi Socratic method movie.
Also, if you pay attention, though these movies mix in many various myths and legends and religions, the main allegory running throughout the story is a Gnostic allegory.

Hahahhahahaha! I was thinking the same thing! Long live ReBoot!

Colonel, this is Snake. I'm at the sneakpoint.
:D
Yes, this looks a lot like the same idea as the Codec from Metal Gear Solid.
Gorram it you just may be right!
I was going to say Neuro-The Fuck-Mancer, but I feel you more eloquently expressed my own thoughts. :)

Go to http://www.apple.com/ipod/features.html and tell me if I'm the only one that has Firefox crash from that page without fail, since the upgrade to 1.5

Nope not me. My ex-girlfriend didn't have a blog. HINT HINT, lol.
By the way, would you like to see my Blog?
=P

The kind of self-indulgent bullshit, pathetic emo ramblings, and general hollow angst that was usually safely confined within Diaries and Journals are now being broadcast to everyone with Webernet access.

Bruce Campbell is a cult film actor. Cult films are generally appreciated by Nerds. This is so because of the often campy, but entertaining, material of the cult films.
In a related subject, Nerds are known to "Geek out" when they see a cult film actor, such as Bruce Campbell, in major films.
...remember when the news about a video game network came around?

...my dead Grandpa started talking to me from my XM Satellite radio...
In case you are wondering...
I better (Insert totally witty action here) (Insert hilariously unpredictable object here)!
