1. Record the Gandalf half of the scene (two cameras) 2. Record the Bilbo half, on a smaller but identical set (two cameras) 3. Hollywood Accounting (TM) 4. ??? 5. Profit!
Chernobyl isn't really comparable to a nuke in either the degree of the explosion or in the amount of radioactive fallout.
Is actually how I remember the story being told on the news, along with "graphics" (cardboards) showing how the cloud of radioactive death would sweep up to kill us all, and lay the land bare....
I need to ask, since no-one has been able to answer: * Is the Eye-Pet with Move sufficiently better than the original Eye-Pet? * Is it tracking properly? * Do small kids find it easy ('er) to use the wand?
We have the cardboard solution from last year's release, and while my 3 yr old loves the game, she has a lot of issues with the game tracking the cardboard thingy properly, but this appears to be due to the board not always facing the camera - I am hoping to hear that this is solved in the latest version...
Tried an all-machine landing coming into Chicago last year with American Airlines - was smoothest landing ever, although at one point it felt like a hysteresis somewhere got too excited.
Cannot imagine take-off being all that more difficult.
Germany has some roads without any speed limit whatsoever, and they're safer than comparable roads elsewhere in Europe.
Just a warning I usually get from German colleagues: There are NO roads/Autobahns in Germany WITHOUT speed-limits. There are roads where you are allowed to exceed it, if you can do so safely, but any issue what-so-ever and you are it - they will consider it your fault, they will fine you (also for speeding) and it can get pretty nasty pretty quickly.
Yes, I too enjoy going 180 on the Autobahn, but I am being careful, and does so when weather and car allows.
On another note, a show on Discovery (or comparable channel, not sure which) said that rules for the German Autobahn, in regards to quality, inclination, turn-radi etc were more strict than anywhere else in the world. It kinda shows, too.
Admittedly, I only glanced the Astigmatism article you linked, but I do not see how this would stop you from viewing 3D content.
Personally, I'm rather near-sighted, and wears glasses for everything but reading, and I am quite annoyed when having to wear 2 pairs of glasses (my regular ones, and large, cheap/crappy "3D" ones on top), but at least I can choose to wear contact-lenses for when going to the cinema. If contact-lenses aren't an option for Astigmatism, check with your local dealer for alternatives (bring your own, better glasses? Prescription "3D" glasses?)
note: I suspect my new Jaguar glasses are actually too wide to fit inside the "3D" glasses from the cinemas, but that is simply a fashion-choise and not medical.
For a computer-based experience with sounds and light, I'd recommend trying out Alpha Baby - my kids love it, and the 3-yr old seems to be practicing her numbers with it (she doesn't speak English very well, except for her numbers)
Biggest issue so far is that it seems to be English-only:( (and the murder it does to my laptop keyboard)
The rewinding on transcoded streams would be a server-side issue, since the PS3 should simply see it as a regular stream. I would suggest trying out different backends (I use twonky w/o transcoding, instead having a script on a Mac that does it up front)
The real reason for not using a PS3 is noise - mine is unbearably noisy:(
Sorry, I read a lot of posts where people are whining that they will never sit in the privacy of their home wearing glasses to watch 3D-TV (Games/Sports/movies), since their imaginary friends would laugh at them, and I think they are bonkers, but precisely with Porn, I do get it: The 3D thing will not happen, partly due to the glasses
Also not with autostereoscopic screens. Think about holding your head still while doing whatever you normally do while watching Porn (if you do watch that) - no, not going to happen.
(the rest you are quite right about though - would love to see people getting pop-ups from their porn-sites that they should switch away from IE.. Mad stampede in Redmond!)
I tried loading a page in Explorer (no ABP it seems) - yikes, the intertubes really are full of ads! More interesting, my download became slower (it seems), and the fans on my laptop went full-blast.
This could still be achieved - have some kind of indicator of size (beer bottle or similar) in the scene, and then use a camera to change perspective as the player moves her head around the room. This should work...

there ... fixed that for you.
While I agree, I'd like to see how HBO is handling a certain other thing first, before I recommend them for the task: http://winter-is-coming.net/

Do you also have Gun laws to prevent the same?
Don't most modern TVs have USB port(s) and h.264 decoders? Why would you need your phone to do the decoding?!?

Man, I love coming from a country where that shit (EULA, and signing away rights) doesn't matter!
May I suggest a different movie, from 1991?

Cant decide whether Hollywood reading /. would be a good thing or a bad thing..
At 130 euros, you and I have different definitions of what "very little" means..
Nicros, someone very close to where you live has a Wireless TV transmitter.

Seen a couple of references to the color of the ball(s) being used as feedback - Red, you're about to die, blue, you're good.. or something

WipEout HD, Super Stardust HD, Pain, and a demo of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift
> 3 people in 2 don't know math
Wow that's scary. That's nearly half!
No, more than 3 out of 2 is from 150% until infinite ... Uhm... at least 300% more than your estimate.
What country are YOU in?
Belgium
Do laws in OTHER countries apply to YOU when YOU are NOT in those other countries, at all?
Yes
Some countries have laws prohibiting their citizens from doing certain things in other countries.
(note: I am a citizen of one such country)
Probably 90% of people on Slashdot have a computer hooked up to their TV, one way or another.
No, only an Sony Playstation ... *ducks and hides*
[...]Thanks for making gross, incorrect assumptions about me, though.
You must be new here
(sorry)
