Re:A tax for journalism?
Here's the BBC misquoting a Reddit user. Here's the user spotting it and calling it out.
The BBC admits Aleppo Boy was propaganda.
If the market could punish, the BBC would be begging for donations much like The Guardian. But with taxpayer support, this will never happen.

Wow. Just wow. It is hard to see BuzzFeed publishing a 35-page document containing unverified, lurid allegations about President-elect Hillary Clinton that it didn't consider credible.

Re:Testosterone levels
But the game is broken and I won't play. Not in the US anyway.
Don't sell the rest of the West short. Did you know that there is a feminist ideology based snow plowing system in Sweden? https://heatst.com/world/femin... It appears that clearning the roads is pandering to the Patriarchy, and since women are more likely to walk and bicycle, (their stupid assumption) the orders came down that the roads get plowed last, the sidewalks first. Didn't work for some reason.
One of the most amusing and stupid things about humanity is that no matter the political leaning - left or right - there are always asswipes who believe that their ideology trumps physics. Ideology only trumps intelligence.
Meanwhile, not playing the game is a pretty good strategy.

Re:It's OK to hit a nazi
Dude, what you're doing here is creepy obsessive. Go outside, forget that Quinn ever existed and everybody will be happier, especially you.
Maybe a bit more spit shine on your armor for her? It won't help. But maybe you can go join Izzy Galvez who was at one time a big "anti-harassment" person all over the media just like her in harassing people. Remember that part where she decided to inject herself into this and decided to start harassing people.
Dude, as an outside observer, this is getting weird. Like everyone else, I was happy to forget Zoe Quinn existed.

Remember when the FBI couldn't find any harassment from Gamergate? Me too. Remember when Quinn's little organization turned around and was harassing people and doxing them? Me too. Remember when all those SJW's(by their own definition) she supported tried doxing people too and one of the key people in her "anti-harassment" organization were caught being the ringleaders of it? Yep me too.
Seems to me you need to start growing up, in nearly 3 years and copious amounts of proof you're hanging onto that "harassment narrative" pretty hard.

Re:Republicans are anti progress
Oh, goddammit. I finally decided to spend sometime to figure out what's all this nonsense about.
It's an ad: https://heatst.com/culture-war...
Somebody just made an ad to say "here we're accepting of everybody, regardless of what you call yourself", and then posted a list of 31 terms, some of which seem duplicates to me (eg, Male-To-Female and MTF both appear in the list, as well as several variations on "trans").
Basically, whoever made that list tried listing absolutely every possible term they could think of just to drive home that point. That's all there is to it. It's like doing the same thing for racism and then filling a page with Wikipedia's list of nationalities.
And this is what people decided to get all outraged about? Sheesh. People have too much free time these days.

Fix it now or Europe as you know it is historyLeaked Report Says 6.6 Million Refugees Are Trying to Get into Europe
The solutions may be politically incorrect, but Europe is now a war zone whether they like it or not. Just look at what ISIS did to the Syrian people and historical sites in their path. Imagine this being done throughout Europe.
The alternative is in 100 years the current European culture will be little more than a chapter in a history book.

And said bullshit of it being a hate symbol was nothing but a troll by an individual to screw with the absolute lack of fact checking by the media. It's no different then people trolling the media that the following things are also hate symbols: OK gesture. White milk. The entire American Sign Language, among other things. The real brownshirts propagate on Twitter
After banning (and shadowbanning) quite a lot of Trump supporters, it seems like the Brownshirt alliance of Anti-Trump fascists is now only allowed to persist, but to prosper.
Ask the people in Berkely who just wanted to hear Milo Yannopolis speak but were assaulted with flagpoles instead just who are the violent brownshirts of today...
But I guess you consider it OK to beat women with flagpoles because they are just Trump supporters, right?
Watch that video, I dare you to come back and say that Trump supporters are the brownshirts.

Hide a tree in a forest.
I already explained the "debunking" is both selective and silly and gave you the source to watch. The same "standard" isn't held for any of the facts in the report, which are dropping like flies. The fact that you want FISA warrants to look into 4chan erotic fanfics just makes this even more hilarious.
I mean, you haven't even caught on to half of my throwaway jokes yet...
I love that you do not provide any actual evidence here. Please note what qualifies as a evidence here. I want real docs, not anonymous rumors laundered through the press, so spare me the CNN, NYT, BuzzFeed, WaPo, etc. links and look at who they claim to have gotten it from and what they have to back it up. You've got what? Basically, this MI6 opposition researcher who sources absurd erotic fanfics while writing the DNC's "research"? The same anonymous fake agents whose tricks I took the piss out of both last week and in my last post?
I'll save you some time, it appears to start with this story by Louise Mensch, then laundered through Julian Borger at the Guardian, which ultimately claims there are "two separate sources with links to the counter-intelligence community." Why yes, I do love unverifiable info from anonymous people who are allegedly part of our most secret and least trustworthy court! That's practically the golden standard of proof these days! We can't provide you with our evidence, it's classified! But we can totally feed random nonsense to BuzzFeed, CNN, and the rest of the fake news.
The funnies part is that I thought they'd learned their lesson by now, but no, they just had to swallow that ridiculous BuzzFeed story about pissing on Obama's bed. Yes, it's really that absurd if you haven't seen it yet. It's on page 2, bullet #3:
However, there were other aspects to TRUMP's engageement with the Russian authorities. One of which had borne fruit for them was to exploit TRUMP's personal obsessions and sexual peversion in order to obtain suitable 'kompromat' (compromising material) on him. According to Source D, where s/he had been present, TRUMP's (peprverted) conduct in Moscow included hiring the presidential suite of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, where he knew President and Mrs OBAMA (whom he hated) had stayed on one of their official trips to Russia, and defiling the bed where they had slept by employing a number of prostitutes to perform 'golden showers' (urination) show in front of him. The hotel was known to be under FSB control with micropohones and concealed cameras in all the main rooms to record anything they wanted to.
Exercise for the reader: Next time you get anonymous crap, try looking into the journalist whose byline appears instead of pointing to the anonymous secret agents. Find other stories they've written. Look at patterns and "sources."

Re:Why?I suspect Russia, or more accurately, the Russian companies involved, simply had to deal with the Clintons for the Uranium One purchase. The buyers needed approval from the State Dept., and Hillary had veto power. So Russia donated to the foundation and paid Bill for a speech. Russia probably didn't want to pay the bribes; the bribes simply were a necessary element of the deal.
Also, although some news stories are casting the Uranium One deal as a national security issue, it really isn't. The Canadian assets were the meat of the deal, and the part ownership in a US uranium processing facility and some mining claims don't amount to much.
Regarding the DNC email release, which Assange states should not be called a "hack" because that is not necessarily the way the leaking party obtained the emails, it doesn't matter who provided them. Who wrote them and their content are what is important,
I, personally, believe Seth Rich was the leaker. https://heatst.com/tech/wikile...

Re:Oh well...
Please. Let them rant, as long as they do they at least don't harm anyone.
Yeah, not in the least. We saw jackasses like Jack Thompson get some sway with the trendy fucks in the industry last time. We're seeing it again with Sarkeesian and her ilk, and the trendy fucks in the industry again. This is the garbage that eventually gets spawned out of it. Gamers on the other hand? They don't like identity politics being pushed into their medium. Just a FYI to anyone who's' reading, the stuff being pushed in the GI.biz article is the same BS that was pushed by people like Leigh Alexander. Another adherent to the "but muh progressiveness look at muh virtue signaling..." which lead to the death of her career.
The whole progressive identity politics virtue signaling bullshit usually kills whatever it attaches to. It's doing a great job of killing comic books, it did a great job of killing atheism for a while until there was a push back. It attempted it in video games and failed, but they're still trying.

Re: What an empty life
"white devil"
You been watching too many 70s flicks, son.
Even better, in attempting to be reasonable you compare them to an animal protection organisation.
The irony is very, very thick.
Once you remove the stick that's up your ass, look at this:
"When the tragic shooting of Trooper Dermyer happened right here in my own city and it directly impacted my community," said Capps. "I took it personally. I wanted to do something about it."
And so the 16-year-old conservative blogger, who has interned with national news outlets like Fox News, decided to organize a Blue Lives Matter rally.
Critics of the rally point to the recent Black Lives Matter movement that spawned in response to the killings of young black men at the hand of white officers. They took offense and slammed Emma as a "White Devil" on social media.
http://meredithaz.worldnow.com...
or:
UC Berkeley Student Columnist Maggie Lam Attacks the “White Devil,” “Skinny White Girls”
http://heatst.com/culture-wars...
or any other results that google will give you for "black lives matter white devil".
Also apparently you don't know what irony means.

Re:don't know their right from their left
This story happens to be about alt-right groups, but Twitter has begun taking all threats of violence seriously.
I guess that's why organizations like CON(which is supported by Feminist Frequency) are still on Twitter's "trust and safety council" right? Despite that they've actively harassed and doxed people. Which of course is why groups like BLM are still on there, after engaging in violence. Or why they don't really go after terrorist group accounts until it reaches a point that they can no longer ignore it. And then we can get into the various verified accounts which openly call for violence, doxing, and harassment...but don't get a slap on the wrist at all. Not even a temporary ban...unless it hits the news.
Nope sorry. There's two sets of rules on Twitter, one for them and their ideological buddies. One for everyone else. Now if they actually are going after those on the left, it's only taken them 5 years.
-
Epistemic closure is not a good thing.
I'm torn. On the one side, harassment has been redefined on the Regressive Left to mean "disagreed with a Radical Regressive Leftist." So when I hear there's people harassing people on social media, I'm reminded that some of the professional victims crying about this harass themselves for victim credentials, while others dox and harass others while running an industry blacklist of their enemies. Both of which are allowed to continue unopposed due to them sharing the politics of the people running the site.
Oh, and that's not even getting into the fact that the biggest Radical Regressive Leftist "anti-Harassment" campaign, "Crash Override Network," is actually a fake organization dedicated to organized harassment and doxing of people. (Yes, the abbreviation for this fake organization is "CON," and yes, the founder is an old SomethingAwful forum troll, why do you ask?)
So yeah, giving these sociopaths more tools to create a hugbox isn't good. We just saw an entire election be decided because one side refused to step outside of their bubble for 6+ months at a time.
On the other hand, this will let me block certain stupid shit like "problematic," "mansplain," and "KillAllMen." And I suppose letting people block racist hate groups like Black Lives Matter can only be a good thing.

Re:Who watches the watcher?
Is it saying things they disagree with?
That's exactly what it is. You'll find quite a few of the 3rd wave feminists and TERFs using this as a means to shutdown discussion, or launch harassment against people, even going as far as trying to get them criminally charged. Also facts are hate speech, and if they happen to be threatening you? That's not hate speech. Also if you quote their statements or rhetoric, that's hate speech too. This shouldn't be a surprise though, Twitter decided to create the Orwell sounding "Trust and Safety Council" which is chalk full of left-wing groups, some of them are so radical that they'd be right at home in european antifa movements. Some of the groups have also been directly engaged in harassment, doxing and so on too.
So just remember, if you're of the right political ideology. It's fine, but if you're not..they're coming for you.

Wait about 2 weeks
Can we see some of this troubling new evidence before we go to war with Russia please?
I'm not counting out Trump losing for about the next 2 weeks. We have yet to see the following:
1) Wikileaks has said it has evidence that will get Hillary indicted. As yet, the Podesta E-mails haven't done that, so everyone is expecting a big drop sometime soon. Probably on Hillary's birthday, October 26th.
2) We haven't seen the last of the Podesta E-mails. A recent drop shows the democrats creating two organizations to infiltrate the Catholic religion, to create a "Catholic Spring" at some point of their choosing. (Yikes! WTF, Democrats?)
3) It seems that Hillary had a hand in Kim Dotcom's arrest (remember him?). In response, Kim has promised a surprise birthday present for Hillary. (Many people will be quick to point out that Kim is various flavors of asshole, but that's beside the point - he's tech savvy, has lots of contacts, an axe to grind against Hillary, and a ton of money.)
4) Someone over at Reddit/4chan has Clinton's deleted E-mails, and will be releasing them. These are apparently the ones deleted from her server before turning it over to the FBI.
5) One of the recent Podesta dumps included his iPhone account password, and someone hacked his account, post a screencap proving that they were in the account, and sent all the data to Wikieaks. This means that Wikileaks not only has Podesta's E-mails up to whenever, they've got more recent ones up to about 2 days ago.
6)
...and apparently remote-wiped his phone.7) Hillary is not appearing in person *anywhere*. (Check her rallys and engagements: it's all Bill, Barak, Michelle, and Chelsea. Hillary appears in person once from now to the end of the month.) Conspiracy theorists think that this is because of some hidden illness, but that's probably not the case. The Podesta E-mails reveal that the reason she's not being seen is because she's perceived as untrustworthy in person. Her campaign is being run largely by remote control.
8) A couple of tapes of Clinton have yet to be released.
9) And weirdly, during the last debate a fly landed on Hillary's face. That's not a problem or even especially interesting, but the fact that it landed, walked around and she never flinched or even notices is creeping out a lot of people.
I'm not giving up on Trump just yet, and I've still got lots of popcorn.

Re:The new left is so violently opposed to dissent
There's been a rise in the term "regressive left" for a while. And for good reason, the left(especially progressives and the social justice clique) have been at the forefront of anti-democratic beliefs for quite a while(see the big push on free speech zones, safe spaces, no-platforming, violent protests against individuals, anti-individualist choices, etc). And unlike the right, that cast and purged their crazies out, the left is still embracing theirs and parroting their views. In many cases, I'm going to guess that it's because they're afraid of being labeled "racists/sexists/homophobes/misogynists/etc" that the regressive left has been using to attack anyone who doesn't share their insular worldview.
Anyone who's been paying attention to tech culture or gaming culture will notice it. The regressive left is against free expression, they only want their view points, their ideals, and their versions of vidya. And are willing to throw hissyfits over any of this. They have no qualms about actually harassing people, they'll run ops to do it(see con leaks), and all the rest of the nasty shit that they claim those on the right do. Which some people have figured out is pure projection on their part.

Re:Feminist/SJW Echo Chamber Circling The Bowl
No, they state without proof that things happened. That's not showing the proof.
So you're now saying that those people linked didn't engage in harassment according to twitters own rules, or what you claimed was harassment by another individual(milo) for doing exactly the same thing? Might want to take those blinders off.
You've lost me. Chat logs of which incident are you referring to?
The ones you couldn't be bothered to read, or check in the linked stories. Maybe a few more will help.
-
Re:Feminist/SJW Echo Chamber Circling The Bowl
No one is stopping you from spewing whatever inane stupidy passes for incitement commentary among your crowd. You'll be just as free to make an idiot of yourself on Twitter once these changes are in effect.
Really? You should pay more attention, because that's exactly what's happening. This is just one case of many, where there is one set of rules for one group of people and another for the "right kind of people."
Keep in mind that Milo never did that, but Leslie Jones sure did. So have several other people who were verified including a rapper, reporter, and a EiC of a magazine
...all of whom sic'd their followers on other people for engaging in wrong think. There's also another case of a person threatening a reporter with rape...for weeks(wish I could remember her name but it escapes me atm). Those are just off the top of my head. You know what the difference between them and Milo is? Milo doesn't carry the same political ideology as them. That reporter? She's a conservative. But in both cases when there are actual threats against them? Twitter has done nothing.Disagree all you want, but when you cross into harassment then GTFO. No one is under any obligation to stand there while you abuse them.
Sure thing. Let me know when they actually start going after the actual harassers okay? You know people like Zoe Quinn, Kathleen Cross, Randy Harper, Izzy Galvez, Chris Kluwe and so on. You know, the people who claim that they're against harassment...right out there...harassing people, doxing people, and so on.
-
Third option
1. Julian Assange will out a source if it will get him press attention, or
2. The dead guy was not the actual source and the DNC would have no motive to take retribution, so Julian Assange will lie about a source if it will get him press attention.3. If you murder a Wikileaks source, Julian Assange will go after you with everything he's got, releasing the information at the worst possible moment, in the most damaging possible way, and offer rewards for the capture of the murderer.
In other words, it's a message to those who would murder wikileaks informants.
And in other news, Assange has stated that there are more Hillary Clinton revelations to come. The biggest stash yet, he says.
He has stated that he has proof that Clinton had a hand in arming ISIS.
I'm running out of popcorn - need to go out and buy some more!
-
Re:I'm sure Drump is all torn up over it
in creating a just and equitable society there is no requirement to tolerate the views of racists (ie intolerance) as the views of those people are explicitly inimical to said just and equitable society.
True. Of course the lack of tolerance these days is coming from the left. You miss the straight white males banned from equality conference? The organizations leading the charge with that are all hard left.

Re:Holy Mutually Exclusive Things, Batman!
No, they're right-wing source that deliberately spin their sources and creatively leave out the parts that could make people question their conclusions.
Feel free to point out actual details instead of painting with a broad brush. For example, the Lauren Southern case was documented with video and Facebook later rescinded the block after it got widespread attention, which was quite embarrassing for Facebook since they just got through meeting with conservatives assuring them that no censorship of the right was going on.
And no, I'm actually 100% serious. Go suck on a tailpite, French kiss a double-barreled shotgun, stuff a rattlesnake down your pants.
Of course you are. That's what makes you a hypocrite and an asshole.

They just blatantly censored a critic
Lauren Southern got censored for posting critical posts on Facebook about censorship on Facebook. There are plenty of more troubling cases like content being deemed a violation of community standards and deleted.
Of course it also doesn't help that Facebook is in the same industry as Twitter and Twitter doesn't even bother to hide their bias (ex: their new "council" is entirely SJW organizations, not even mainstream liberal; they've also been caught shadow banning people for political bias).
