Re:Growing anti-intelectualism
Well, mostly they're dismissed because the "proof" cited for them is none and easily debunked if you have at least a minimum of education and bother to actually dig past the surface.
On the other hand, you've got the libshit media calling the killing of white farmers and the seizing of their lands a "conspiracy theory" just because Trump dared tweet about it. You even get stuff like this:
Newsweek, March 2018: "A White Farmer Is Killed Every Five Days in South Africa and Authorities Do Nothing about It, Activists Say"
Newsweek, August 2018: "White Nationalists Praise Donald Trump For Spreading White South African Farmers Conspiracy Theory"
Vox: "It's hard to overstate how unprecedented that is: The president of the United States just directed the secretary of state to look into a racist conspiracy theory he saw on Fox News -- a conspiracy theory that is a major talking point for white nationalists and neo-Nazis.
Whether or not it's actually true is irrelevant." (bold mine)

What Experts?
Its almost as if people like you post that you and your experts are always infallible and to never be questioned the day after they fail. CNN not only failed hard, and took WaPo and NYT along with hundreds other "experts" they are still refusing to acknowledge their failure.
So we have direct proof of "experts" failing completely, and refusing to admit it. But according to you we are not to EVER question them. Experts also told us John Kerry was going to be president in 2004, and Clinton was guaranteed to win in 2016, but we better not question them.
You are an imbicle and are bragging to others how easily you can be led by the nose and you will never question what you are told. THAT is the definition of anti-intellectualism, you have been shown you are wrong and refuse to change.

Re:"people familiar"
It is the same reason the New York times ran a bogus op ed about Georgia voter suppression in preparation for Stacey Abrams, the first black woman nominated to run for governor, losing.
I mean, sure, you can claim that the Georgia thing is bogus.
But, since they have the history of destroying evidence of election fraud pretty recently it seems pretty likely that they are going to keep doing crap.
Criminals are gonna criminal and all that. -
Re:"people familiar"
Total BS. Nelson is losing and he knows it, so he's starting the "Russians stole it" crap to try and de-legitimize Scott's win. Claire McCaskill of Missouri is saying the same thing.
It is the same reason the New York times ran a bogus op ed about Georgia voter suppression in preparation for Stacey Abrams, the first black woman nominated to run for governor, losing.
Considering the left leaning Atlanta Journal Constitution says Black, nonwhite voters on the rise in Georgia, AJC analysis shows that must mean who ever is working to suppress minority voting is doing a piss poor job.
This is all the Democrats have. They have no message, they are running either as socialists or as Trump resistance. In other words, they want to take every thing you have or they want your vote because you're supposed to hate Trump. They know this is a losing argument so they have to start now claiming "muh Russians did it".

Thank the white guy and the mass shooting
Immediately after the white guy shot up the concert last year, all hotels on the strip changed their rules. From that point on they would not observe the Do Not Disturb sign on doors and would do spot checks of hotel rooms.
Caesar's says they will check rooms daily.
That these checks happened isn't surprising since the hotels did publicly announce their new policies. Then again, had that white guy not gone a shooting spree, none of this would have happened. Actions have consequences and all that. -
Re:Use tech to fight fires
a bulldozer driver was killed, when his vehicle overturned. Couldn't they drive the bulldozer remotely?
There's no reason to use a remotely operated dozer to fight fires which doesn't also apply to every other use of a dozer. But doing that would be massively expensive, so we don't do that with any of them. Sadly, it is cheaper to hire another dozer driver. The most common causes of deaths of dozer operators are 1) rolling the dozer with them in it (or just sliding down a hill so far and fast that they are killed) or 2) parking the dozer and then walking around below it, and the soil shifting and the dozer falling on them.
There are remote-controlled robots that can climb stairs. Let's put a camera, mike and speaker on one of them, and send it into a burning building. The robot would search for people, and for a safe exit path for the people.
We do this already, though not so much in fires and more in structures in danger of collapse. In fires, we also want someone who can swing an ax, or carry an unconscious human. So we risk humans. Eventually when we have robots capable of doing all those jobs, we may switch to robots.
I'd love to see a team of chemists and experienced firefighters get together, and figure out a new, better way to put out fires. I don't mean to be sarcastic, but if it takes several days to put out a wildfire, then we need to figure out a better way to put it out.
Fire has becoming even more unpredictable than it always has been. Back in the Valley Fire seasoned firefighters were literally saying that the fires were exhibiting behaviors they've never seen before. Lately the big problem has been the increased incidence of fire tornadoes. They are created by winds which are created by fire, and filled with burning fuel of varying granularity all the way up to chunks of flaming wood the size of charcoal briquettes, which can be distributed across sizable areas by the tornadoes in question. This enables the fires to jump breaks that they would otherwise be unlikely to cross.
The chemists would be the experts in removing heat, fuel and oxygen from the fire. The firefighters would share their experience of what the environment is, when fighting a fire. They would say that a solution sounds good, but it won't work because in a real fire, the environment is too crowded, too windy, whatever.
Yeah, that's exactly what they say. When you have a big fire, you can reasonably do three things. You can concentrate on not letting it spread, you can smother it, or you can cool it. Consuming its oxygen doesn't usually work, especially once it's large, for the aforementioned reason that they create their own weather. They create heat updrafts which draw in more air, and if you consume the air that the fire is using, it's largely irrelevant because more air will rush in. Consuming the air before it got to the fire would essentially require another massive fire. You can try to consume the air by bombing, which does sometimes work, but note that the only reason that the Swedes were able to bomb their fire is that the fire was actually on a bombing range and there were no repercussions to bombing it some more.
This doesn't mean the problem can't be solved, but it does help explain why even though a lot of effort is spent on researching fire suppression, it doesn't often produce a lot of results. In the end, the best approach to fighting fires is to stop fighting fires. The natives of California deliberately set fires every year. These fires kept down both undergrowth that permits fire to spread r

Re:Orange dipshit
They different is Watergate/Clinton investigations were started due to some pretty clear and damning evidence. Occam's Razor suggests the most likely instigating factor for the Mueller investigations was some political impropriety and fearmongering on the Democrat's part. In terms of real evidence pointing to a massive conspiracy by the Trump campaign to collude with Russia (on anything), it is objectively almost nothing. It still may or may not be true, but I don't think anyone can deny Democrats have twisted themselves in circles trying to convince the world of some massive conspiracy, a la 9/11 truthers.
And I'm going to seriously consider the opinion of someone who starts a Post with "They different"?
And just remember, after Trump stated Publicly that handing over Ambassador McFaul to Putin's gang of thugs for "Interviewing" was actually "worth Considering", the Senate voted 98-0 last week to block that idea.

Oh, and when Articles of Impeachment against Assistant AG Rob Rosenstein were filed in the House last night, only ELEVEN ***REPUBLICANS*** (out of 236 Representatives total) jumped on the bandwagon. Personally, I would be more concerned about a properly bribed election official or two losing votes in a voting machine or even worse, a voting machine with remote access https://www.newsweek.com/elect....
This article from Vox highlights one of vote-by-mail strengths which is that it is very distributed and hard to tamper with at large scale. It's second strength is that is a fair process making voting accessible to anyone who is registered to vote. No need for polling places or special times and days, only a voting deadline of when your vote must be in an order to be counted. https://www.vox.com/policy-and...

Trump's approval rating is the same as Obama at the same point in his presidency.
I didn't know Obama also had consistently low approval ratings compared to other recent presidents - thanks for the info!
Well if you don't look at everything in a vacuum you might realize how bad trump's rating is compared to Obama. I'll put aside whether they are the same or not for now...
Obama inherited the great recession where unemployment was shooting up as he took office. trump inherited Obama's recovery and now we are at full employment with a strong economy (until next month when trump fucks it all up with his trade war) and he is only doing as well as the guy who got blamed for the worst recession in 80 years! Any. Other. Politician. would probably be in the high 50s or 60s with this economy by just not being an asshole at every opportunity.

What's the ROI from a taxpayer's perspective?
How much did the gov't spend to recover that $3.6 cash? And they tracked $20 million in total transactions? That seems pretty light-weight. One US state had over $600 million in MJ sales the first year it was legalized. Ok, so they recovered some opioids and fentanyl, much to dismay of Trump supporters, but damn, guys. Show me the cocaine.

Are you mentally disabled? Was anyone talking about Obama before you? How is his approval rating relevant whatsoever in this discussion? His point was that the composition of Trump's approval ratings could be indicative of a successful misinformation campaign, given that his base tends to be the target of such tactics. If you're unable to properly infer information from people's posts, I suggest you keep lurking until you can, and preferably refrain from voting as well.

Designed to ram into stationary objects, no defect
This is a known characteristic of the Tesla "autopilot". I wouldn't even call it a "defect" per se as it is simply operating as it is designed to work.
It won't pick up stationary objects, particularly if there is another vehicle in front of the autopilot vehicle, going about the same speed, and then that vehicles move aside with the stationary object right in the middle of the lane.
This is one reason of many why the Tesla system requires constant supervision by the human driver.
Of course the reason the whole type of system is a really bad idea is because it works great 99.9% of the time. Thus lulling the human driver into a false sense of security and safety. So then the human driver tunes out. Then 2000 miles later (or whatever) the "Autopilot" encounters a situation it can't handle and you wham into the back of a firetruck or whatever.
And no, I'm not making this up:

Re:Though this be madness, yet there be method in
Why are you confused? He pretty much explained how all this works in Art of the Deal. And regarding NK specifically, he laid out his strategy during the campaign. Now he's executing that strategy and the media is confused...
Sorry, but he was vague on details. I agree the US has been screwed on trade, but fixing it without triggering trade wars is not easy. T never laid out specific strategies, scenarios, and examples of how to do that. Or anything for that matter. Those who worked with him in business say he has an ad-hoc shoot-from-the-hip style. Perhaps it works, perhaps it doesn't, or works in some circumstances but others. Regardless, he's never written or described anything that can be turned into a relatively clear deal-making algorithm. Yes, he can be tenacious, but often to his own detriment, according to some real-estate analysts. His successes can often be traced to his self-promotion abilities and sometimes charisma, rather than shrewd decisions themselves.
And his Art-of-the-Deal ghost writer admitted much of the book is fluff.
By the way, "temporarily exemptions" should have been "temporary exemptions" in my message.

Re:"facts"
You shouldn't be. Trump actually didn't intend or expect to win the presidency, he intended his candidacy to be only a publicity stunt to promote a news network he planned to launch:
-
It's not an issue. It'll go away in days.
Current WH staff setting up their own private accounts after the election to use for White House business was not a notable issue. It went away in a few days.
https://www.politico.com/story...The Bush WH staff using a private server for WH communications during the sell-job for the Iraq War in 2002-2003, and then wiping the server, deleting 22 million emails rather than hand any over to the government records office, was not an issue. It went away in a few days at the time, and again in a few days during the 2016 election when Newsweek magazine attempted to revive the story:
http://www.newsweek.com/2016/0...
No, I am not waving my arms around crying conspiracy. The press really did harp on the HRC email story, some 30X as much coverage as "issues" got; but the thing is, people kept clicking on the stories; and not changing channels; and the press responds to that.
I really don't understand it and don't have a theory for why Americans are so fascinated with the slightest wrongs done by Democrats (I mean, FIVE investigations of Clinton firings in the WH travel office??) and so uninterested in the most jaw-dropping things done by the right, but they just are. I think Al Franken had it right, that the only press bias is a "sell eyeballs to advertisers" bias and the unfairness of it all must be laid at the feet of The People themselves. Truly, Americans have the government they deserve.
Here's my two "greatest hits" on that score:
1) Nixon's collusion with a foreign power (S. Vietnam) to ruin the 1968 Peace Talks to deny Democrats a win during the election campaign was called treason by some who became aware of his calls to them via CIA wiretaps:https://www.nytimes.com/2017/0...
...20,000 Americans died in the ensuing four years. (NB: Might have happened either way; but Nixon's *intent* was to extend the war.)2) Eight news organizations paid to have the Florida ballots carefully and repeatedly recounted and found that Gore won no matter how you counted hanging chads and dimples and all that:
https://www.consortiumnews.com...
...the Washington Post put that story on page a10 and it was gone in a few days. I was actually unaware of it, and I'm a news junkie. So that's what will happen to this story too. I don't know why it works this way with American news, but it does.
Both those links come from Jon Schwarz' eye-opening history in The Intercept last December:
https://theintercept.com/2017/... ...where Schwarz dryly notes that:
"For their part, the elite print and broadcast media accepted the right’s critique that they were – as huge profit-driven corporations naturally tend to be – horribly liberal. " ...and I'm sure that's part of it. But the news media can't control stories all THAT well. People really do just look away after a few days, from Republican malfeasance, all the way up to torture. Heck, Democrats look away from it, including Obama looking the other way on torture. So this is nothing, and will be gone in a few days. QED. I'm willing to lay money on it if anybody is skeptical.

Re:I've been wondering why it is
The DNC spoiled for Hillary every step of the way.
The died in the wool
That's dyed.
Democrats prefered a Democrat to some rando wo signed up just for the election.
The Democratic party prefers a centrist to a leftist, you mean.
The polls said that Clinton couldn't beat Trump.
I remember different polls from the election cycle.
Well, remember more carefully. The polls showed Clinton to win early, but as the election wore on, they shifted. The DNC assumed that Clinton could win, just like Clinton did (and then failed to campaign in key states.) But they always showed that Sanders could beat Trump.
What if the DNC had embraced leftist ideals, and actually supported Sanders?
... so some rando who doesn't have remotely the same poltical affiliation either. The Democrat is on the right end of centre right, not left.People don't want centrism. If the DNC pushes centrism, it will fail again and again. Centrism has only led us further down the spiral.
Some 10% of Sanders supporters ended up voting for Trump
No accounting for idiots, I guess!
There is accounting for idiots, and if the DNC hadn't ignored the many voices clearly visible in social media loudly stating that they would rather vote for Trump than Clinton, they have only themselves to blame. But registered Democrats have only themselves to blame for supporting the DNC. The lesser of evils is still evil.

Re:Enough Already
Most people lurk as ACs for quite a while before joining, I know I was here for a good 3-4 years before making this account.
Well, it's not as if one could ever lie about that. You've persuaded me!
I don't know who decided that racism was a great rebuttal, but your comment history is completely full of racist remarks, like calling people "Ivan", the racist implication being that even if you somehow got that sloppy accusation right after making it so many times, everything they said would be unworthy of being responded to merely because of their being Russian.
Russian is a race? Why have I never seen that in a census form? I am shocked to learn that I am a racial self-hater, considering all the Eastern European ancestry. Must be the Western European ancestry rearing its ugly head. And they call it all "Caucasian." Such irony.
Or maybe, since you can't plausibly that claim comments denigrating a documented practice by a nation that considers the U.S. to be its biggest enemy is more than a "sloppy accusation," you thought that you needed to add a charge of racism to spice things up.
Wait, I thought Russia wanted to "destabilize" us? Isn't that what you're contributing to? So tell me, why are you trying to divide us again? Would you like to tell us why, even knowing the Russian plans, you decided to go and help them?
You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. If he is a Russian troll, why not make the charge? If he is not a Russian troll, why should I refrain from suggesting that he is behaving like one? I mean, you've persuaded me, so it's obviously the latter. But for the good of the country, or just to not be "racist," I should simply ignore anyone with a contrary opinion is a "DNC shill" or a member of an "advocacy group" posting anti-Trump propaganda rather than repeating the Truth (as declared by Fox & Friends).
Since you don't appear to have a problem with the political implication that everything someone says is unworthy of being responded to merely because of their being alleged "DNC shills" or members of "advocacy groups," and thus merely spouting anti-Trump propaganda, you'll excuse me for engaging in any sort of political commentary that I wish. Or not. It's not as if I'll stop because one person has an almost unique conception of race, or my posts don't rise to his personal standards.

Still passing that lie forth? Bet you're ignoring Trump's bombing campaign.

Start with Reagan, actually.
Mysteriously, Trump claimed to love him. And Assad. And Kim. And threatened them all with bombings.

"Muslim" isn't a race any more than "Catholic" or "American", you numpty fucking cunt.
There is no such thing as race within the homo-sapien species. Racism has never been exclusively biological and has often if not primarily had cultural origins. The more we assume that race is limited to skin color, the less we understand about contemporary racism faced by Muslims at home and abroad.
Perhaps you also believe antisemitism is not racism either, or are you simply inconsistent in your beliefs on racism and race in general?

I can't help but comment on this headline: Russia's 'Nuclear Titanic' Heads West, Raising Fears of 'Chernobyl on Ice' to say the "Chernobyl on Ice" sounds like the worst Ice Capades theme ever.
(Apologies to those that take the potential destruction of the environment and Earth seriously.)
I'll add that "Nuclear Titanic" sounds like a good name for a James Cameron movie or documentary.
