UX designers stay away
UX designers already ruined Google Maps , so stay away from Blender. Blender is fine as it is, if you don't know how to use it then that's a problem with you not blender
-
There's always a loophole
They'll just take the diversity angle
-
That's because when the MBA's took over
They didn't know how to innovate so the only breaking changes are those their UX Dessigners introduced rather than any core changes to the product.
-
Perfect
Now you can see the code monkeys at work
-
Re: This is what happens
You mean like in this scenario?
-
Because companies are too concerned
with things like diversity instead of finding the right people who can actually do a good job
-
Re:I wonder
If their facial recognition is using this implementation
That solution is only to be exported to America
-
I wonder
If their facial recognition is using this implementation
-
I can think of a less obvious use for this
Comes in handy for these situations
-
The WiFi is only for
their airports' advanced security system
-
Re:Automation will hit developing and 2nd world
Looks like the airport security industry will be hard hit too
-
Can you blame them..
That's what happens when you outsource security like this
-
It's because they hired
-
Re: After? FIRST time is still a fuck up!
I think you must work with this guy
-
Re: Yeah hollywood
If they don't cast Chinese in this scenario then it's unlikely they'll be cast as a programmer.
-
Re:Too Many White Males
Yeah, white males should only be casted in movies like this
-
Re: Hilarious
It's the diversity scam after all
-
Re: Greatly Insane
This is a great comic about how bad UX Experts suck:
-
The image recogition implementation
Is similar to this except there is an additional micro payments feature for bribing them to look the other way
-
Sometimes you end up doing the work
That the outsourced IT were supposed to do (effectively hiding their incompetence), also known as diversity
-
Re: Why do the tech companies
Because in tech companies its usually the non technical suits that make the decisions and they are either stupid with a marketing or MBA background or have an agenda or both.
I doubt it was an engineer's idea to remove the headphone jack or hide half the Google maps UI -
Re: no
-
Re: WTF is "Sexually Suggestive Assault"?!
He failed the HR test
-
Re: China: "No."
I think you got the Hollywood part wrong, it goes a little more like this
-
Re: Pearl clutch! Pearl clutch!
Well these guys are in trouble
-
Re: racial bias is faulty programming
If the data set is anything like Hollywood movies then of course the white guy is seen as the saviour and all other races are either bad or play a minor role in life
-
being a software developer who has worked on
Airport security, this is how it really works. So is no wonder it fails

Re: Dreadful.
The pretentious UX designer strikes again
Hey, I know that guy!

It's only the big companies
That make all the money. The app/ play store favors their apps on the front page and basically the little guy gets no exposure and ends up like this
There's no money to be had here unless you are big or very lucky. To make any money on ads your audience has to be ridiculously large which requires a massive advertising budget or winning the viral lotto. -
i think it's a bit of a case of
this.
Games are seen as so disposable that indie developers have trouble giving it out for free (unless you are a big well known company).
If anything, it's a smart move in the sense of acquiring new users and letting the world know about the product. Even with a free game you have to pay around $1 a user through ads to acquire a user and they usually end up throwing it away after looking at it for 30 seconds (or being a jerk and leaving behind 1 star without even getting into the gameplay because they can) -
Re: I'm Guessing He Likes Asian Women?
Could have weeded him out with this system
-
Re: Why is Diversity considered a strength?
Simply because of this
-
Re: Yawn...
I was one of the devs working on SmartGate. The way it really works is like this

Re: Do one thing?
The pretentious UX designers know best
Whatever happened to user customization? Sometimes new devices take the one size fits all motto a bit too seriously. Have a default interface and then maybe have the options to configure it via a short series of questions. For instance, there may be whole sets of options you don't really care about and likely never will...
One example that comes to mind, am I likely to walk, or take a bus/etc for mapping? No, then hide that stuff and assume I'm driving.
Another that comes to mind is the instant access to the camera? Just no. If I want to use my camera I'll unlock my phone. I'm not that into pictures.
Yet another that comes to mind is airplane mode and the ability to turn the ringer down. Some people don't need this, and may use those features unintentionally, just making things a pain.
On windows you have microsoft do the bonehead move of thinking i want more advertisements/telemetry/crap running at start. Don't waste my time turning it all off. They have user questions at startup, but they don't see to support that type of user very well.

The pretentious UX designers know best

Well yeah..
You only need look as far as Hollywood
-
Re: Outsource
Also beware the diversity scam
-
They're just going through
-
Re: scripts
You mean like this guy?
-
When will people learn
-
Re: They'll get around it
If your company is pumping diversity, then think about this
-
They could get around that law with
-
I imagined that things at Google
Worked more like this
-
It's not really image recognition
This is what really happens with these advanced airport security implementations
