Re:Steve Ballmer on Zombies
I think you meant to say: Fucking Kill(TM)
--
To quote the article mentioned above:~$ cd
/usr/bin
/usr/bin$ sudo ln sudo fucking
/usr/bin$ fucking ln gdm google
/usr/bin$ fucking killall google
--Steve Ballmer on GNU/Linux -
Steve Ballmer quoted as saying...
"I'm going to fucking kill Korea. I'll fucking bury them. I've done it before, and I'll do it again."

Microsofts evil plan exposed..."I'm going to fucking bury that guy, I have done it before, and I will do it again. I'm going to fucking kill Google!"
That's how they plan on beating Google. By killing them. The only thing I can't figure out is how to kill a search engine. Perhaps throwing chairs at their fiber backbone? Maybe a few more chairs thrown around in their server farm?
Perhaps now would be a good time for Google to start researching what to do if Steve Ballmer decides to kill you.

:).
For those of you who don't know what Nethack is, here's a primer. -
sounds like another booksounds a lot like my "unix in a nutshell" book -- which has all commands in reference format, a quick look at programs like vi (which is obviously the best editer), sed, awk, etc. and a look at a few different shells and scripting with them.
also, i like the, er, pun in the title.

There IS a solution to this!
Hey folks, wazz all the fuss about?
Wikipedia goes ad-based?!! No problem @ all, just switch to Uncyclopedia
No more wikispams , just pure facts! -
Uncyclopedia also partners with Answers...
Seems like Answers Corporation is making a grab for the Wikishare. Saw this posted on the the Uncyclopedia, the one true source for knowledge, earlier today.
The Uncyclopedia has announced a fund-raising (WORK FROM HOME! MAKE SIX FIGURES) partnership with Answers Corporation (http://www.gurunet.com/) and will replace all of the Uncyclopedia content with a growing (Buy PENIS enlargement products NOW!!!) number of unobtrusive advertisements. The Uncylopedia will recieve three easy installments of $19.95.
It's a sad day for the Wikispace. -

word choice
Actually, dissect is a synonym for "analyze," which in this case is appropriate; however, when we say dissect, we usually wish to evoke images of tissue and high school biology. The definition of dissect has no reference to anything dying. Vivisect, on the other hand, means "to cut a body open while still alive," which means that it has to be alive in the first place. Given that the video iPod was "dead" for a part of the procedure (can't run it while it isn't connected to battery, for example), dissect may be more appropriate. However, given that this is a gadget and not a living being, I would have chosen "disassembles" or "takes apart." Vivisect just sounds cool, though. That said, was anything learned that wasn't in apple's literature? Have we now any enjoyable hacks for the video iPod?

Re:Isn't Estonia that "fake country" in Dilbert?
Estonia is the fake country with the bearded people.
No thats Elbonia, and I deeply resent your ignorance we are not a fake country.
I actually wonder about some of those -stan prefixed former Russian countries...do they exist?
Well, the thing is those *stan countries were blasted into in orbit around Pluto by the Soviet space agency during the cold war since they proved to be a general nuisance. The only exception is Afghanistan which had to be brought down to earth a few years ago for a major overhaul due to a massive rodent infestation. -
Serious doubts!
Some people do have really serious doubts about the credibility of wikipedia content.
On the other hand, wikipedia people do have doubts about these other lads as well. Hmmm, looks like circular distrust to me...

Just ignore him
Mr Thompson is just a sad, lonely guy who wants some attention. As he obviously has no natural talent or charisma his only chance of doing this is by picking up contrivertial causes.
Just like Kevin Warwick http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Warwick, Uri Gellar http://www.sisyfos.cz/sisyfos/geller.htm and co will all go away if we just ignore them. -

so impractical but real How-To articles appeal to me
You don't think that the mod could actually work, do you? That picture of the IDE controller wired up to the motherboard is a photoshop job. The paragraphs above it about compatability are nonsense.
If it were true, it would be dumped from Uncyclopedia or moved to True Facts and Other Deleted Prose. -

Oh come on!
How dare you rip a good quality source like uncyclopida. Its the only source where I can have an actual representation of FreeBSD

Re:Dropping the Tungsten and Zire names
The term "Tungsten" really means nothing to me except heavy, since tungsten is a pretty heavy metal. But the palm Tungsten pda's aren't as heavy as if they were actually made out of the stuff, which leaves me confused. I for one am glad they move to a meaningless model letter system. But T|X makes me think of Texas, which makes me think that's one damned big PDA, I can't fit that in my pocket. But it's not that big! I'm SO COMFUZED!!
And don't get me started on the Zire thing. How the heck do you even SAY Zire? Is it Z + eye + r? Or Z + eee! + r? or Z + aye! + arr! (like a pirate)? Thank Jeebus they just made it just Z. No confusion there. Except that it has fewer letters. Does that mean when I upgrade from my Zire 21 to the Z22 I'll get fewer features because of fewer letters? But it's one number higher so that's better, right? Please help before I experience SEHS!

Re:An absolutely PERFECT representation
This reminds me of the article on Nihilism? It's almost as good as the article on Surrealism.

Re:Offtopic
No, Wikicities does not run on Wikimedia servers. Wikicities is not a Wikimedia project. Wikicities and Uncyclopedia are managed by Wikia, a for-profit company, whereas Wikimedia, though run by some of the same people, is a non-profit organization that relies on grants and donations rather than Google ads.

Only 29,021 patents?
IBM has received 29,021 patents--more than any other company or individual in the world.
Yeah, I've recieved 28,973 myself. Seriously, isn't it redundant that no individual could recieve more than 29,021 patents in a 12 year period? That's averaging 6.6 patents per day. -
Scientological Explanation for These ResultsScientology has Proven (tm) that the causes of your problems are related to the past lives of uptight dead space aliens called Thetans, and that you can cure your problems by getting your Inner Space Alien (ISA) into a better mood. But that's no contradiction to these results, because Scientology can make use of any other "real" science, and only objects to fake sciences like psychotherapy. You see, String Theory tells us that everything is made up of little tiny strings, and when your Thetans feel anxious and need to get your body to react anxiously so it's ready to fight or run away from whatever they're worried about, they start pulling on the little strings that trigger the neurotransmitters to let your body know what to do. The reason they do it this way is that Xenu can't read the chemicals remotely, though the little strings are triggered by mental energy that can be read more precisely with a very complex expensive device called an E-meter.
The big difference between Scientology's theories and Pastafarianism's is that anybody can make up stuff about the Flying Spaghetti Monster out of whole cloth, but only El-Ron and a few of his successors are Allowed to make up Official Scientology Stuff unless they want Bad Things to happen to them.

Re:Good movie, but #10 all time movie?
It's interesting that Serenity could make so much headway into the Yahoo movie ranking after earning a paltry $10M in the box office in its opening weekend. To put that in perspective, Duece Bigalow 2 & Herbie Fully Loaded were on par with $10M the first weekend it opened. I may be pointing out the obvious here but it seems like Serenity has a higher percentage of computer literate viewers than most movies and they inflated Serenity's ratings.

Re:Wikipedia rocks, BUT...
No, the real danger is that it's written by somebody with a convincing level of knowledge of the facts, but who has a highly controversial interpretation of the subject.
If an article is written by a totally clueless moron, it's usually pretty obvious. It becomes especially obvious when the researcher compares the information with other sources. There may be lots of people who are willing to populate an encyclopedia with crap. But the number of people who will take the time to find an obscure subject (to stay under the radar), then become knowledgeable enough about the subject to figure out what can be snuck in without setting off warning signals is much smaller. At that point, you've got a rather large and solid body of knowledge that just gets a bit squishy around the edges.
I think Wikipedia is doing very nicely, thankyouverymuch. I challenge you to go looking through it, and count the number of pages you go through before you find some demonstrably wrong claim that has been there for more than 24 hours. Bet you it's more than fifty. -
Wikipedia is not factual and is really fiction.
I use Uncyclopedia instead because it is more reliable than Wikipedia. Your milage may vary, but I think that Uncyclopedia is the better choice for Internet Encyclopedias.
-
Not so great, really.
I know lots of stuff about reality. Been there, done that. I can't seem to get out of it.
So wikipedia isn't as much fun as I'd like. Better to see a new, enhanced version of reality - where the facts have been changed to make the story more interesting.
Thats why I like the uncyclopedia. -
Primary threat to Wikipedia...
is that the pack of lies that it is will be exposed once everyone begins reading the true truth found in the Uncyclopedia.

Re:This sort of thing...
When it started being done by pirates back shortly after they were invented in 1614. I believe if I remember my history correctly, Calico Jack Rackham expanded piracy to include theft of intelectual property as well, which was what he was eventually hung for.
