If you try doing this to your data in a high school physics class you will fail; it should not be acceptable from professional scientists. As Prof. Muller says, these are people whose conclusions can no longer be trusted because their actions forfeited that trust.

Why are you surprised at how any market works?
There are always people willing to spend alot of time creating an alterego.
Games with highly detailed character creation functionality draw specificity these people.
In old times people raised their phone bills through the roof just to chat with their 'friends' on chatboxes.
Free to play games using micro-payments have based their business model about the very concept that people are prepared to spend money to enhance their entertainment experience.
This principal is almost ancient.
What about this is not to comprehend?
Create a great looking product in a platform that does not allow you to simply copy it, and you have a product you can sell.
Like renting land, its a very boring way to tell someone you get to call THIS your home. You're not just renting land, you're also renting an atmosphere, a scenery, a social network.
When you make a scene like that, you are allowed to ask money for it, just like any piece of art. -

I fly remote control gliders totally unpower 0 type of propulsion onboard, and I make them go 400+ miles per hour. We do this thing called dynamic soaring. Here is a video you can some what see the plane at the 4 minute mark.
I am sure the government has better tech than us amateur guys to make something go fast.

So yes I agree that educating girls would go a long way to reducing population growth. However we can do a lot in these countries by giving them the free time to gain an education. Far too much of their time is taken up by daily chores to include washing clothes and preparing food. So providing means to cover those two important areas would give them time to get that education when it is available,
The third area is harder, overcoming religious belief.

NASA has done a great job, they got us all to this point.
Now, NASA's strategy and role needs to change, their funding must change, it's way overdue, they know it, we know it.To their great credit, they are doing it, they are adapting and embracing the change; it's hard for them, an era is ending.
Space is big, the opportunities are literally infinite, but science budgets are always way too small, efficiency matters.
So we cut the well known tech and commercially viable elements loose from the taxpayers dollar.
Let whatever NASA morphs into, fund and guide the basic research and science, spend more on that, less on vehicles.
That's the stuff NASA does well, the right stuff, basic research, initial exploration, the stuff that shareholders and businessmen looking at next quarters results typically do poorly.NASA exploration vehicles and science packages can buy rides on whatever commercial launchers they need, at the going rate.
We buy planes and ships, trains and trucks from commercial vendors, shipyards, and aviation companies, so whats different?Clear out the cold war, legacy buck rogers, pointy spaceship with fins thinking, and move onto real space-drives, profitable commercialization and real sustainable colonization.
As for the shuttle.... well I am as jingoistic as the next fella, I admire their bravery just getting into the thing (i think i would be terrified, but i'd also go...)
However... continually launching the mass of 7 people crammed into a vehicle that has twice failed, killing the entire crew...Empirically, it seems obvious that the efficient way to do successful science in space is, small fast vehicles, robotics and AI's; humans should only boldly go... when their is a proven and compelling reason to do so, and little expectation of them making it back alive if anything fails.
Spirit and Opportunity did more, for far less, for far longer... than any human crew could likely have done.That's the kind of research I want my tax-money to fund. Efficient hard science.
So lets figure out how to mine and move asteroids, survive indefinitely in deep space, harvest the oort cloud, build CHON Food factories, go where the resources are available, easy pickings...
If we want to get off this unguided mud-ball, we must adapt to new strategies as necessary, however hard they may be.

A lot of people, including Pat Robertson, are starting to come around on the unjust brutality of drug laws, especially marijuana, so Paul is attacking it from that angle.

DC is a good console (12 years old and counting)
Umm... the Dreamcast most of the time used a propietary system called "Katana", I think that was a linux fork, because the Sega guys though that WinCE sucks. Also for the Dreamcast was created a free "OS" called KallistiOS that is used even today... well, only for Dreamcast Homebrew fans. The newest game in development for the DC its called Sturmwind,, check the entry on wikipedia. If you ever played Resident Evil: Code Veronica on the Dreamcast and on PS2 you notice that it looks better on the DC and on the PS2 there is a longer "loading" time every time you open a door. And when Sega told Micro$oft that design a OS for the DC, M$ take note of the console and then they decide to make the XBOX. You must compare the controls of the first XBOX and the DC, they are very similar Anyway the point is that right now, in the spirit of hacking, they think that the Dreamcast was a good console because was well designed and you can use it to create Homebrew games or emulators. I don't consider myself a hacker, only a Dreamcast fan, and I think that I can understand at least they feelings for that magnificent console.

I mean in terms of those applications that would traditionally be written natively, avoiding native development on ARM means that we end up with cross-architecture binaries, you don't have to worry about whether the new apps on your tablet are going to work on your desktop/laptop. Of course HTML5 and JavaScript fit into this mold too.

Meltdowns are impossible?
According to this documentary, US officials wanted reactors built in such a way they could contain a full meltdown. GE and Westinghouse lobbied hard and got their way by adding more cooling backups instead.
This means these reactors were built under the premise that a loss of cooling and therefore a full meltdown is "impossible", then Fukushima happened...
So now we have 3 reactors with several tons of radioactive fuel melted at the bottom of their containment vessels. I believe the presence of Iodine indicates the fuel is still firing up self-sustained nuclear reactions. There is no way to contain it, no way to control it.
I am not an anti-nuke nut but Fukushima might make me one. The problem with these nuclear plants is that, if the impossible happens, we are all fucked.
Show me a nuke design built in a way a meltdown can just not happen, or if it happens, can be fully contained, controlled and cleaned without affecting the environment.
