Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie
I got one of these puppies and it has managed to keep the voices in my head at bay. Perhaps it could help those kids too...
-
Re:Thus defeating the object?
It's more like they're offering Company Provided Aluminium Foil Hats(C) in case you're tired of wearing your regular Aluminium Foil Deflector Beanie.
-
And you can make your own tinfoil hat
Here's a good "how to" page.
-
Re:A real bad omen:
AND Eolas is just a short step away from EULA, something micros~1 likes to use and enforce. They're suing themselves!!!
It's tinfoil-hat time. -
This is a big problem...
... it means my AFDB is obsolete.
-
Re:Tin Foil Hats Too?
Try Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie
Really. -
"Passenger carrying"? Did you read the article?
These are small military machines. Their purpose is to enhance our ability to kill people that piss us off.
The martian exploration stuff is flim flam, because, as they themselves say, this is about the most inefficient way we could possible devise of flying about. Efficient flying animals hardly flap their wings at all. In contrast Hummingbirds drink eighty seven times their own weight in a cocktail of cocaine and Red Bull each day just to stay alive. And if you're not sure of my grasp of mathematics or biology there, consider that the alternative is believing someone who says "centuries of evolution have produced structures and systems that work very well".
Ornithopters are essentially cool-but-useless at the human scale. Yes, everyone said the Wright brothers were crazy too, but the thing is, the Wright brothers looked at ways of improving on the results of (literally hundreds of years of!) random evolution. Merely mimicking it just seems to produce a lot of problems, and fixing them appears to give a solution that's worse than what we already have.
Good luck to the people that get to play with these, but really, we should just stick to the much more credible miniature black helicopters.

I hope you aren't violating any IP with that program, many examples of prior art exist.
..or you could sue them for DMCA violations. -

Maybe Bush could create the Department of Asteroid Terrorism Awareness, or DATA for short.
Then the conspiracy theorists could set up a rival organisation - LORE - Loonies Owning Reflective 'Eadgear :^) -

So, I was watching this ad
For Bonjela, I think, although as always, I had the TV muted to cut out the worst of the psychotronic radiation. Anyway, the theme of the ad appeared to be that Bonjela can be used to cure mouth ulcers, and that it does so by by killing the tiny spikey demon person that lives inside them and causes you pain.
So we've known about bacteria since the seventeenth century, but we still believe - in a very real and fiduciarily binding sense - that Joe Lowest Common Denominator is more comfortable believing that mouth pain is caused by little demons. Specifically little spiney ones who dropped out of spiny demon mime school.
And you wonder why AMD gave up on trying to explain why MHz don't matter? I'm surprised they don't market their chips based on multiples of Imp Power.

SCO has a point...
And someone should toss a ring around it... this needs to stop immediately, the thing is that most people don't get to hash this out all they get is the very loud cries from the SCO encampment. That's ok though, soon, very soon, the gorilla will begin the fecal rain, and Darl and his other brother Darl will be drowning in it.
Go see the new SCO-Wear that all slaves err... minions at SCO must don for an interview, shareholders meeting et. al. -
Re:China and Human Rights Abuse
I apoligise - I guess I was unclear.
I was referring to the motivation for the invasion of Iraq. It seems there was a volentry media blackout on the subject - Fox News and co offered the advice of 'experts' to tell us what to think, ansd didn't try to do Investivigative Journalism
OK, time to wear my Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie -
Re:this raises some interesting questions indeed .
how do we prevent terrorist from using this kind of stuff ?
Dammit, a bunch of teenagers with box cutters have fly jumbo jets in the WTC. They had about 200 times more explosive in these jets than in one of these missiles and their equipement cost was box cutters and airplane tickets. Why would they want to build one of those missiles?
You have to solve the weakest link, not the sexy link.
Now I'm putting my aluminium foil beanie back on.

Aluminum foil hats!
Its simple to screen your brain from hidden brain scanners with an aluminum foil hat.
-
Maybe....
Maybe there IS something to those tinfoil hats after all! Hmmm...

One word.. MindGuardThis program protects you from mind control
It's extreme. Extremely what, I don't know But it's definitely extreme.

Re:Conspiracy theory.
Yes, absolutely. Try Small Victory and AFDB. Both of these have worked quite well for me and I highly recommend them.

Re:New features include tracking where you click!!
It's new to me, I use google.
The fact that they think they will be able to take users away from google by (or while) tracking their browsing habits is a bit far fetched to me.
And It's not anonymous if you are logged in to yahoo. Unless you log out, disable cookies, reboot your ISP connection until you have a new IP, then perform your search.
The funny thing is I wasn't a Tin Foil Hat wearing privacy nut until my government decided they wanted to Track everyone's online habits And Hold them completely waiving Habeus Corpus
And Buffy will marry me, don't mock my love. -
Re:New features include tracking where you click!!
If I knew where there was A remote one, I would.
Running a local proxy still allows "them" to record your IP number.
Bouncing off one (or more) proxies via proxys4all
makes "them" have to get at least two search warrants. Cause that's what they hate.
Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean Admiral Poindexter doesn't want to know all about my surfing habits.
Thank Goodness for This -
Re:Lethal?
Any you guys called me paranoid !

Yes there is fix
Just use this and you won't have to worry about it anymore.
Security Fix
In other news....it look like the mods are still in an April Fool's day mood judging by the fact a post like the one above was modded up. -

Re:Hmm.
FYI Nissan.com is _not_ for nissan motors, makers of the Xterra... You want nissanusa.com
Nissan.com is quite a funny story, however... Uzi Nissan, an Israeli I think, registered the domain well before Nissan Motors, and they sued him and lost, but in the battle he lost the ability to use the domain for any commercial purpose. Now it's a chilling reminder of who controls your mind... get your afdb ASAP (not at afdb.org) -
Advantages of living outside of the US
You do not need to wear your Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie all the time.
...however, you will have to wear 'leder hosen' if you move to Bavaria, though. -
Re:Sheesh, barf me
You could have read the whole paragraph instead of getting into a high dudgeon over what you perceived as a slight toward people who make too much or too little money. I don't choose my friends by their income levels.
I'm just tired of the idjit "You must be getting paid off by Microsoft!!!" accusations we get every time we so much as mention that company's name. It has been especially fierce lately because of their presence at LinuxWorld and the fact that we (gasp!) have dared to write about it.
My point (which you apparently didn't notice as it flew over your head) was not to play holy over income or lack thereof, but to slam in the idea that no, we are not only not paid by Microsoft to write about them, but that we don't have enough financial need to be susceptible to bribery if they offered, which they haven't.
Not that I expect you to believe any of this, since this is exactly what you'd expect a paid Microsoft flog to say, isn't it?
Whoops! Gotta go! I had more to say, but Chairman Bill is paging me. Maybe he wants to pay me $20,000 to write an article about how Microsoft's SQL server is so much more secure than PostGres.
(The preceding paragraph is a JOKE. I say this in case any Slashdot readers forgot to wear their aluminum foil deflector beanies today and have had their senses of humor deactivated by CIA mind control rays.)

Sure will make

You got the wrong Mind Guard link
Your mind guard link is a german metal band.
The wonderful "MindGuard Psychotronic Mind Control Protection" software is at

Damn! You have to see the add for the Linux version!

"Its not as crazy as it sounds"
It may not be, the the author probably is. Christian's been a Usenet Kook type of dude for ages. Not many take him seriously there.
This "MP3's will fry your brain" thing is his latest rant - he's been flogging it in uk.rec.audio and other groups.
Here's my advice on now to protect yourself Christian: Tinfoil - and remember, shiny side out! -
Re:warranty?
Don't joke...have you ever read about the cluser that is the Metric Calendar?
-
Re:You have got to be kidding?
Just be afraid when a bill is passed to push that national ID card as an injectable tag behind your neck. That's when you will find FAQ's on the internet how to build tin foil hats.
Like this one? Now where do I have to go to get tagged? -
This one'll work

Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie: Amazing
"A small, but vocal, contingent even argues that tin is superior, but they are held by most to be the lunatic fringe of Foil Deflector Beanie science. I would advise people wishing to build a Deflector Beanie to stick with aluminum whenever possible since it is a proven technology."
Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie: An Effective, Low-Cost Solution To Combating Mind-Control.
That is an amazing link! Someone who is a good writer has put a huge amount of time into documenting nonsense. And it says that the site is rated Cranky by Crank.net
The internet is an amazing virtual place where every comedian can be heard: Zapato Productions intradimensional -- "Serving the Paranoid Since 1997". It says this web site is a member of the (no doubt prestigious) "Yes, there really IS a VAST Right Wing Conspiracy!" web ring. -

YOU MUST USE The Aluminium Foil Deflector Beanie!Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie (AFDB) is a type of headwear that can shield your brain from most electromagnetic psychotronic mind control carriers.
Don't delay! Gillette are reading your thoughts while you shave yourself *
For the majority of slashdot readers, this is a very bad thing.

Re:Hertz, et al?
When will someone get around to inventing the 'cone of silence' so we can have our privacy back?!
It's right here, it's usually shaped more like a hemisphere but I'm sure you can make yours into a cone if you like.
P.S.
I agree with you about the rental companies. I just thought giving the link for the cone of silence was amusing.
