  1. I beg to differ on Blizzard Patches No-CD Support Into Warcraft III · · Score: 0

"popup-heavy crack websites" www.megagames.com isn't too heavy on the pop-ups, and is a breeze to use if you're using Firefox with script-blockers

  2. No offense on Google Reader Begins Sharing Private Data · · Score: 0

But I call bullshit on this one. People can't be THAT dubious to be caught pants-down by this. I tried for 2 hours to get my partner and I connected together so I could share interesting articles with her, but gmail and reader wouldn't acknowledge the relationship.

  4. Re:I refuse to buy from Gamestop on Confessions of a Gamestop Manager · · Score: 0

I don't think this is a simple case of the employees being pushy old-school salesmen - it's more prevalent to me that some game-store clerks either a.) don't know much about video games or b.) aren't aware of competitors offers and the game industries' multiple cogs in general.

When trying to pick up Bioshock: The Collector's Edition from my local EB (I'm an Aussie, so we don't have Gamestop) I was told "Oh, we only have reserved copies left. It's totally sold out. The best chance you have of getting it is on E-bay." Mind you, I was told this on the launch day of the game. And videogames are definitely not at the stage of getting totally sold out its the launch day (yet)

Long story short, I picked up a copy from DVDCrave.com (who stocked about 10+ copies at the time, mind you.)

That's one reason I avoid these kind of stores unless it's absolutely necessary: there's too much smoke and mirrors, and defiantly too many clerks trying to pull a fast one on a sucker.

  6. ERSB don't go that far on Hackers Uncensor Manhunt 2 · · Score: 0

The problem with the ERSB is they take everything on face value. None of them are programmers, so I doubt any would have the thought to say "What if there are secret things in the code of the game that gamers can hack out of it?" They simply view what's before them and don't think of the intricacies of the code behind the game.

  7. Re:I hate cut scenes on Excuse Me, Your Cut Scene is In My Game · · Score: 0

However, there are some games (Portal comes to mind) where spoken dialog will be cut-short if you move through a level steadily enough.

Unfortunately, designers can't predict the average gamer's pace - and we all have our own individual playing styles. If a game requires that I have to sit down and shut up for exposition's sake, I'll usually put up with it... otherwise, I might miss out on key plot/tactics ideas for an upcoming area. If I want wanton destruction with no storyline, I'll hit Team Fortress 2.

  8. Press the ACTION BUTTON!!! on Game Reviews are Broken? · · Score: 0

  9. Obvious flaws with an Animal Crossing MMO on Animal Crossing MMOG / DS Flash Card Rumored · · Score: 0

Having paid off two mortgages to that crazy raccoon, I can safely say that this MMO rumor is a dud:

1.) The fun of 'time-travel' would be ruined as all players would be forced to go by a standardised PST.
2.) The novelty of owning your own house, mixed in with other players, sort of demotes this to a Animal-Second Life.
3.) Friend-codes: Yeah, I'm sure that won't cause any problems here... I really don't expect kid-safety-first Nintendo to stop using this anti-pedo measure anytime soon, and probably won't make an exception here.

Nintendo are always the innovators of this market. Why would they try and imitate an existing engine just to try and make more dollars?
