What this REALLY means is that there is now a way to export out of 3d modeling software that doesn't have export tools! This means that crippleware that has the save function disabled now has a save function. This is WAY bigger than exporting game characters. This could actually be useful.

People aren't affraid, anymore, to own one of each. Sure, there are penny pinchers, but in general most of the gamer market will get teh 360 now and ps3 later. Who does't have both? (I have dreamcast & xbox).
If you want to walk out of a store, plug the device into the wall, get it up and running in mintues, timeshift and view music/pics from your PC then get a TiVo.
If you want to *maybe* spend less money (EASILY more), do a lot of tinkering (which can be loads of fun, or not), timeshift, play games, view music/pics, surf the web and do some spreadsheet, then make a MythTV/Freevo/MCE/etc pc.
I'm still happy with my lifetime sub series 1 tivo. I've had it for 5.5 years, added a hdd etc. It made a seemless integration into my lifestyle. I ALSO have a pc that I work on....which has a long component cable running out of that goes into my HDTV.
No need to reinvent the wheel, er tivo, it's clean, done and ready w/o headaches (or fun). Share the love, get a tivo and hook your pc up to your tv, too.
We get no calls in KY. The only calls we do get are from the police, firefighters, and a few other fund raisers. KY has it's own list. The KY / Fed combo is working great for us.
I don't understand how this be better than an optical or magnetic strip. You have so get your card near the rfid sensor anyway, why not just swipe it like traditional cards? Why not a big optical bardcode?
If you sell a car and a drunk driver kills someone are you not responsible? If that drunk driver drank the beer you made are you not responsible? If you sell Big Macs are you not responsible for fat people? If you built a house and the buy falls down the stairs are you not responsible?
Your logic is a bit fuzzy. This type of thing needs a judge to decide whether or not the gray area is more white or black.

Microsoft's profits come from the huge number of windows sold, however, wouldn't you think that this would also work for apple? If they treaded lightly in hardware and focused on the OS they could make a lot of money from the people jumping the windows ship.

Have plenty of Antivirus software availble that you can install and charge the client for.
