  1. Re:How about Windows? on Xbox Linux Made Possible Without a Modchip · · Score: 2, Interesting

That's what this exploit is doing. It's going to allow a lot more people to tinker around with the XBox. I'm really excited about this, because for a small memory card(I can borrow someone else's) and $180, I can have a Divx player or virtually anything. It's only a matter of time before the BIOS can be flashed without touching a screw...

  2. Wow... just as I enjoy it. on Activision Sues Star Trek Over Franchise Decay · · Score: 1

I'm a Star WARS fan, so anything knocking Trekkies makes me feel a bit better, but after playing through Elite Force I'm singing a different tune. Elite Force KICKED ASS and is one my favorite FPS. I have a feeling it was meant to tie in with a movie or something, because it felt very heavy on emotion, but that could just be me.

  3. Finally on Pac-Man Reloaded · · Score: 3, Interesting

It's good to see other people appreciating design over visual output.

The most fun I had at E3 was playing Pac-Man GCN and Ninja Turtles. It's a simple concept that doesn't get boring.

How many things can I find wrong in this picture?

The header says 100% Games, selling bikinis.
The biknis are anything BUT exotic, K-Mart level stuff.
The bikini's also cost more than any other outfit I wear that COVERS MY BODY.
And Small / Medium / Large really isn't too descriptive for clothing.

My god, if this sells, I'd be disappointed in mankind. OH WAIT! I ALREADY AM for EVERY sucker who bought the game.

  6. Online play on Japanese Console Rumors Debunked · · Score: 4, Interesting

In surverys, only 30% of people said online play affected their console choice, and only 10% actually would NOT get an online console.

Compare that to the investment needed to entice 20% of the market and you see why Nintendo doesn't care. MS and Sony are wasting cash to CREATE the market.

  8. Odd on Topps To Buy HeroClix Makers WizKids · · Score: 1

Well, now I get what Hero Clix are. Somehow I always related them to Z-Cardz.

Turns out it's more like a turn-based game than a collectors things, seems odd for Topps to get something like that.

  9. The countdown... on Acclaim - GameCube Not Worth Publishing For? · · Score: 4, Insightful

    *sigh*
    Sega Sports, Acclaim, who else?

The only reason they leave it is because they can't compete with Nintendo's games.

You develop on the PS2 because it'll sell no matter what. There's enough saturation to support crap.

You port it to the XBox, because it's DirectX and easy to do, so it takes MUCH less to sell to profit, BUT sells more sense XBox owners are hungry for anything.

You ignore the GameCube because no matter what you do you're competing with the best game developers on the planet and make up poor excuses as to why your games suck.

  10. Way ahead of them on Real Life Doom With Point-And-Shoot Positioning · · Score: 2, Interesting

I got PalmGun on my Palm. It's Laser Tag with it's IR port, of course, it works with ANY IR device, so people cheat with the uber-strong omni-remote controllers, but otherwise it's still good fun.

  11. It will correct itself on Artists Protesting Single-Song Downloads · · Score: 1

The artists will learn to stop whining. Linkin Park will learn that charging full price for a HALF-FILLED CD(Less than 40 minutes on Meteora) is not a way to call it a work of art.

There ARE cds that need to be sold as albums. Collections of sound effects, and CD MegaMixes, as one example. But I haven't seen artists complaining about the NOW! compilations, radio plays, singles selling(Well, those stopped, thankfully), commercial use or ANY OTHER MEDIUM WHERE PEOPLE WANT TO LISTEN TO 3 MINUTES OF MUSIC AT A TIME AT THE MOST.

The comics in newspapers have changed from full page spreads to cheap throwaway black&white joke strips. Those that BUSTED the limit were Mutts and Calvin & Hobbes. Those that DESERVED to perserve their format WILL. Those that WHINE will just get mocked.

They merged with Enix, not Capcom.
Your probably going to end up waiting for a box collection of VII with a soundtrack, DVD of cinema and about 3 volumes worth of sketches that were drawn, embossed toilet paper, a collectible life-size sword, keychain and money clip, coupon for a PS3, a brand new DualShock2 controller with a VII-2 logo, your own private ranch in Arizona and a Q-Tip.

If I commented on all the innaccuracies he made, I'd be writing a thesis paper.

Something he's ignoring is PROFIT. Why do you make a product? For PROFIT! For as much as you mock Nintendo for, they still make MONEY. Have they gotten so far into this they've forgotten that CORE ideal? Rare will NEVER, mark my words, make a return equal to a 1/3rd of a billion. Enter The Matrix hasn't yet, and probably WON'T.

  16. 2 GBA's ain't so bad on Super Mario 3 Gets All Portable · · Score: 1

At first I was fearing with Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire than needing 2 GBA's to send e-Reader data(Eon Ticket, Trainer battles) would be hard to come by, but think about how many people got an SP, and kept their old one, OR how many people are getting a GB Player with their GameCube?

Really, it seems expensive, but it's worth it to get an e-Reader, anyway, for Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Super Mario Bros 3., Mario Party-e(Which my sister LOVES), and just the NES games alone(Especially Excitebike and Golf!)

THEN A DAY LATER PALM BUYS HANDSPRING.

  21. If only it were true... on Farewell to PDAs, Hello to Smart Phones · · Score: 1

I lusted over the Kyocera 7135 for a long while.
10 months, following a botched delay, horrible release, huge price and software conflicts.
Then the same week it was due to come out Palm unleashed the Zire71.
The Zire71 was $200 cheaper($100 after contract), 4x resolution, better battery, faster processor, newer OS, 5-way pad, camera and the Palm Universal Connector.
The 7135 had a CDMA phone for use on Verizon and more buttons.

Guess which one I splurged on?
I got that Zire71, and I couldn't be happier with it. For months I tried to convice myself I didn't "need" that 320x320 screen, but... ... I can play Monkey Island! You can't deny that has staying power when choosing a device.

Now all I am doing is buying a $50 cable to connect my Palm to a lengthy list of compatible phones(Some I can get for free). That way I'm not tied to any upgrading of one thing.

The current Smartphone market is crap, full of horrible batteries, software flaws, misunderstood airline attendants and high prices.
And don't dare mention PPC smartphones, I'm a Palm man, and I will always be.

I've been looking for a replacement for my Casio WQV3(Digital Camera Watch) ever since I got my Zire71. For a while, I've been considering the Matsucom OnHand PC, and for the price, I could get BOTH, KEEP the watch, and render myself the Uber-nerd. All I would need to do is get the WQV-10 which has a color screen ON the watch...

That would be impossible, considering they're still making a profit and have a $6 billion in cash in the bank.

Sega was on the verge of bankruptcy. Besides, the Cube still sells more than the XBox worldwide and they currently only lose $20 per cube sold, and with a game-to-console ratio of 9.1:1, Nintendo has no problem whatsoever surviving.
