Gentoo is capable of having optional dependencies. The only problem is sometimes the crack-smoking package maintainers make more things mandatory than they should.
Oh boo hoo. Heaven forbid that something might not actually cater to you smug married people. In this case, you are more of a fringe group than you care to admit. There may be a lot of married people who play games, but there aren't that many cases where both people in the marriage are into video games.
If he believes the story to be true, then he isn't lying- he is just incorrect. Clearly he would show a normal result under the test, and their isn't any test that would be able flag it as a lie. It isn't a method for getting fool-proof information, it just flags dishonesty. Conceivably you could get a situation where somebody believed something that was false, and in the process of lying, happened to state what was factually accurate. It would appear to be a lie, even though it was corrent information.
At this point, I think my main reason for using Firefox is because it looks a little bit better. There are a few things that I find annoying. When typing in a URL, I liked the old Netscape style autocomplete, not this annoying drop down menu. There is not gui option to turn on the autocomplete - you have to edit a config variable, and as far as I know, there is no way to get rid of the annoying menu. The other thing that bugs me is you are stuck with the download manager instead of getting separate progress dialogs (I should check if there is a config vriable for this, but I doubt it). Early on, Firefox used to seem very light, but lately it hasn't seemed any lighter than regular Mozilla.
I thought it was more interesting that they performed the test in Florida. People down there have a much different idea of cold than those of us up north. My brain shuts down when it gets to 77, but they seem to find it quite comfortable.

Doom 3 for Linux Released

The fglrx driver is the only driver which provides 3d support for anything newer than a radeon 9200. The specs for cards up to (and I beleive including) 9200 were released and there is 3d support using open source drivers.
Yes, the ATI problem is a major issue, but at this point, we are used to getting the shaft from ATI.
It all depends on the company. I work for a fortune 500 company that has done some really stupid stuff that relied on.doc files. In order to make requests for certain types of things, you would download a particular.doc file which always contain wacky forms stuff like you would expect from a web page. You would then fill in the fields in the document and email it to your manager who would acknowledge approval by forwarding to the people who handled the request. At least they seem to be moving more towards web forms now.
It wouldn't matter if a preference option was added to hide registration-required articles, since the preferences have been broken for weeks (or at least they are for my account).
That is of course assuming that there is a spammer within range of your access point. For most people, spammers will be a non-issue. Especially for those of us who live in the middle of nowhere. The main reason I do not use encryption is because I cannot use it under BeOS, and don't have any BeOS compatible wired connection on my laptop. For normal people, leaving the connection unencrypted will hardly ever be a problem.
There isn't much point in competition with regular athletes either. People find it entertaining. If people like watching enhanced athletes competing, what is the difference?

Yeah, I'd much rather use Raiden or Sub-Zero.
I think that was supposed to be AIX instead of AI.
Or a red rider bb gun with a compass in the stock. Don't shoot your eye out.
It is the same as plaid speed.
According to dictionary.com, biannual can either mean semiannual (twice a year) or biennial (once every two year). English is such a fun language.

Last I heard, they were switching to C, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had moved on to Java by now.

Actually, the future in "Bact to the Future" was something like 2015 (it was 30 years ahead of whatever the year was in the 80s).
You may joke about it, but when I first read it, I was wondering why the web-server people would care about a telescope.
FYI, the "dangley bit" is called the uvula.

In the text under the wiring diagram, it mentions that the chip is a PIC16C74
Technically, they wouldn't be cannibalistic unless they ate other Ewoks. The Ewok haters would probably love to see that.

They probably already have a team put together and just need to fill it out a bit more.

I can't tell what you are talking about. I looked at the screenshot and it looks fine to me.
So why don't you go do that, and stop wasting time posting annoying comments on /.
