lol. i also remember that...i did eventually get street fighter 1 for the c64.. what a disapointment that was.. not that i really expected it to be much like the arcade version.. (sf2 which i later played on an emu was just as bad)
I remember downloading what I thought was Street Fighter 2 off QLINK only to be disapointed that it was a text based version of the game. What a waste of time that was (300 baud modem).
I recieved a free month (or whatever the deal was) of QLINK with the purchase of my C64C, but I had to mow lawns the whole summer that year just to pay for the $250 dollars that free month cost me.
Is this illegal in Canada? I know that we are sort of allowed to copy software/music because of the tax on the media, but how does it work for modifying technology so the copied media works?
I dont think Id even go that far. Dobly pro logic came out long before 5.1 so calling it fake 5.1 doesnt really work. In dolby pro logic, the rear channels are not independant of each other (same sounds from both speakers) and there is no separate channel for a subwoofer (the.1).
I tottaly agree. I am far more impressed with the psp's design and hardware over the ds, but I really think that its battery life is going to limit its appeal.
Im STILL waiting to see some sort of support for sonys horrible NETMD minidisc protocol under linux. I know there has been some open source developments but it is still impossible to transfer files to the device under linux. I know that minidisc is nothing compared to ipod in terms of popularity - but Im still sure there are a lot of linux geeks using this portable audio medium.
so novell is a pretty big name to have teamed up with suse, and already very reputible distro. id like to know, what about this distro makes it any different from the rest, and if so, why should i swtich from mandrake?
I have pretty much the same configuration (a bit more ram and an athlon 600).
Kde is booted in about the same amount of time, however windows xp is booted in less than 30 seconds.
Ive always enjoyed kde. It has a lot of customization options and works quite well.
The one thing that I do not like about it, is how long it takes to boot. Windows (and probably mac, never really used it) have linux/kde beat for loading times. I really wish there was a distro that could integrate kde into the booting process rather then boot linux then kde - like back in the dos/win days...
I have been using gaim for sometime over msn/icq and I think its fantastic! It is very stable and has been a staple of my linux desktop for some time. I have also converted many of my windows based friends to the program as well. One thing that is so nice about open source software is that in many cases it is available on multiple platforms.
paying $.99 to download a song that contains probably less than 10% of what the cd recording contains is something that i will never do. to me, paying for compressed music is a fools game.
lowering the price to $.49 or less per song seems more reasonable to me. people dont understand that by purchasing music online in mp3 (or equiv) format that they are ok with crap sounding music and if they are ok with that, what is going to keep record companies from spending less money on production when they know the music is headed for a compressed format anyway?
Ive always wondered what was so special about slackware. Ive never actually tried it myself (Ive only ever used Mandrake and Redhat, favoring Mandrake over the two), so I dont know what slackware is all about.
Ive noticed that people seem to hold slackware in a high respect and I just wanted to know what makes it different from the rest.
Yea, I just bought an imac last week...

so i guess the same can be said about video games

Went back to school yesterday and to my delight discovered that the University of Guelph is now running Firefox on its computer systems!
it is a lot easier to trick the eyes then it is the ears.

I wonder if they rock out or are they more into the hip-hop scene?
I cant turn it off this week because there is too much hockey to watch! Maybe Im just a hoser, but Hockey Night In Canada is just too important to me!
give it time!
Can this program call telephones or just people on the network?
