  5. How many android devices are there, versus how many apple devices? Apple, is "one" phone per year or so released, yes they sell millions, but android is on 3,105,592 different phones every year. Granted, Google wanted adoption, made it open, so the manufacturers & carriers were responsible for the updates (if any) and in their business model, it's not worth the time since people just toss their phones away about every 12-24 months, and, other than security patches, for me, android has been pretty stable, nothing "really" Earth shattering new, since Jelly Bean. Perhaps going forward, past Oreo, if more manufacturers adopt the project Treble, which splits the core OS from the UI/bloat, Google can get the updates to the core of the system faster, through the play store, and let the manufacturers/carriers screw with the UI if they want. Also will make flashing to a non OEM rom easier...that is if you believe the press. I got Oreo on my Huawei USA Mate 9 in early November, and the latest patch/update last Monday.

The guy "outed" isn't the one. It's been disproved. He's 15 years younger than "DB Cooper" for one thing. If the person didn't die jumping from the plane, he would be over 85 years old today. Most likely he died in the attempt, or has long since died. These "hounds" pop up about every year of the anniversary, to hawk their books and what not.

You have to be a complete moron, if you get any of your news, from ONE source. Shoot, sometimes I find LESS bias, by reading from news sources OUTSIDE of the USA, than I do INSIDE the USA. Everything is so politicized, it's hard to know what is real, what is fake, what is "edited" to sway people on either of the two political groups in the USA. I'm conservative (NOT to be confused with the so called Republican party) but, I read several sites that are considered left leaning. Why? Because I want to know the thinking process of "the other side" so to speak. To try and figure out WHY they have such views. Believe it or not, a RATIONAL person, will, on occasion, agree with someone on the left, not because of politics, but because they are correct in their view.

  9. So, the teamsters are upset with being replaced. TOO BAD! Let's see...do we still manage buggy whips? Telegraph operators, and on and on? Nope...unfortunately, progress means that certain jobs may disappear. Now, if you want to live like the 12th century people of some parts of the middle east, just drop an EMP over the planet and we can all have jobs again. Hey teamsters....SUCK IT.

I swear...I could walk around campus in a "killer clown" outfit, in between classes, and 80% of the students would never see me.

  15. No, but it does prove one thing on Facebook Says It Can't Guarantee Social Media is Good For Democracy (reuters.com) · · Score: 1

How smart the founding fathers were, in creating something new called a Constitutional Republic, as opposed to a "democracy", which is effect a "mob rule" mentality. By giving the people, the house of representatives, the people have a voice. The senate, until the 17th amendment was the state's voice. A democracy, is not "everyone has a voice" but emotional MOB RULE. Just think, if we had a democracy, what happened in Ferguson Missouri, would have meant the death of that police officer, since most social media has spread the lie that the "gentle giant" Michael Brown was running away from the police, hands in the air and shot in the back, when in fact he was running towards the officer after previously robbing/assaulting a clerk at a convenience store, assaulting a police office and attempting to take his weapon. No, we DO NOT want a democracy. "Social media" is just another way for "mob rule" to attempt to take hold.

  18. I know that a medical company IT staff I know, they go around (due to HIPAA reasons) making sure if people leave their desk they lock the screen on their workstation. He told me more than once, they found post it notes with a password. What they would do is go in and change the password, locking them out, then wait for them to call the help desk. Then they'd get ONE warning not to do it again, or be fired. NO ONE in a corporate world should be allowed to keep a password on a post it note.

Oh, they will say they do when the cameras and microphones are on, but, in the board room, they don't care...not really too many companies do or they would manufacture in other parts of the world. They know that labor is CHEAP in China, thanks to the communist control over its people, and their lives. No big deal for them to take you out and shoot you if you don't toe the line. All the companies doing business in China are doing nothing more than using slave labor. The people "live" in dorm rooms if they are lucky, work overtime constantly. Heck, remember a few years ago they had to put anti-suicide nets on some of the buildings because employees (slaves) were jumping off the buildings? The only time working conditions look "good" is when they invite the media in, and then it's all smiles and everything looks nice. It's a shame everyone gives Apple a pass on a lot of this, but, it's because they want the iPhone, Mac, iPad etc...and they look the other way.
