whoops, hit submit too soon..
anyways... as i was saying; i dont think this will be a problem anyways, as the "gaming centers" will probably be fully stocked themselves, and not at all depend on soldiers/officers/whatever-you-want-to-call-them to supply the games.
been "all clear" for a while

yeah, we havent heard much about it in weeks; its been pretty much contained quickly after the last "outbreak"
btw, i live in richmond hill, pretty much the epicenter of SARS in north america.. York Central Hospital is only a few blocks away..
its almost as bad as the nokia n-gage --- 6 to 10 hours, using AA.
for now, im sticking with a 3 hour charge for 18 hours with a SP.. batteries cost alot, you know..
microsoft is trying to get a foothold in the market, and so are selling below cost. XBOXs are sold at near 100$US loss.
they dont want to make a profit on XBOX, they want customer loyalty. THEN they plan to make XBOX 2 and dominate the market..
not quite. it simply caught on fire; and since it was filled with 100% oxygen, the fire had no problem totally engulfing the capsule. the capsule never exploded or anything; it just basically turned into an incinerator
2. Challenger - blew up in the air
ill give this one to you; but challenger didnt blow up; the right-side SRB (sold rocket booster) did. a faulty o-ring let the SRB go wild and blow up; the resulting shockwave disentigrating Challenger. again, challenger didnt blow up, the SRB did. but technically you are right..
3. Concorde: blew up during takeoff
completely false. TWA flight 800 though, DID explode, if you wanna use that as en example.
4. Columbia - blew up landing
er, no.. it disentigrated. the massive heat and extreme speeds at which it was travelling led to it literally disentigrating midair.
also, im surprised you left out hindenburg, a much better example than any of the above...
Go take a look at all the products sony makes, and how they are doing versus their competitors.
now say that again.
Sony is both MPAA and RIAA (literally), dominates the audio, portable audio, home theater > television, game console, and camcorder sectors, and makes computers, microchips, cellphones (with ericson), DVD players, laptops, digital cameras..
need i continue?
SONY is the worst kind of monopoly in the world, imho; NOT microsoft.
im thinking no. why?
because its totally different, brain wise. games require you to concentrate, be aware of your surroundings, and to track enemy movements... remeber that scientists are usign gaming to help treat ADHD/ADD. Gaming requires a really active brain, whether you notice or not.... ie; in counter-strike, what are you tracking with your brain?
-where you are
-where the last enemy you saw is
-nearby chokehold/stronghold points
-nearby allies
-the bomb sites (or similar)
-number of players left (roughly) on each side.
-what weapon you are using, and how much ammo (roughly) you have left.
etc...
trust me; its almost a buzz when i play CS at 4 in the morning; so tired, but the game forces you to be awake... its strange.
porn, on the other hand, requires none of that deep thought... i mean... obviously....:P
Well, ill say one thing about ADD/ADHD
on
Working with ADHD?

Right now, im supposed to be doing a 15-page report (that i shouldve started 5 hours ago) taht is due tommorow. its 1 in the morning. and what am i doing? reading slashdot. before that, forums.xbox.com. before that, gamespy.com, before that, xbox.ign.com, before that, gamesindustry.biz, before that, talking to people on MSN, before that...... well; you get the idea... all ive written so far on my page is: "Summative Task â" Chemistry"
..gabe newell casually talking about it, and confirming it?
the article is also very ps2 biased; so i wouldnt be surprised if the author is just talking out of his ass...
riiiiight...
and your console comes form a company that owns a movie studio (and a very vocal member of the MPAA), a record label (and a very vocal member of the RIAA), dominates the portable audio scene with overpriced crap........ and stereo scene..... and DVD scene...... and console scene (XBOX is 3x as powerful as a ps2, and costs the same.. plus 2 games! ditto gamecube) and also owns a very large game studio, makes computers, laptops, camcorders, pocketPCs...... along with many, many other various pursuits.
name ONE of those products that is better than a competitors quality-wise for the same price. go ahead.
SONY is a monopoly based on name alone. They used to be good, they honestly did. but now its just overpriced crap, crap, crap, crap, crap..
Im sure it will be value based; ie good items will spawn you to that spot 10 feet from where you were versus "rat fur", which will respawn you halfway across the world..
or something like that...
isnt that the point? they make great cheap housing, imho. very roomy inside.;)
nah, i love everything about my XBOX, especially the warning in the manual against letting it fall and maiming small children ^_^
i havent seen a hardrive based mp3 player with more than 15 hours of battery life yet. what good is 4000 hours of music; when the battery only lasts for 10 hours?
the Zen only has a 12 hour battery life; the Ipod only 10. what kind of crap is this? the reason i bought the CD player i did is because it had a 35 hour battery life.
i just dont want to have to charge the damn thing *every single day*
first, that destroys overall battery life. second, its a pain to do!
does anyone know of a HD-based player with a 20+ hour battery life? i'd really go for that; much moreso than having 60gb.
i was actually reading the lyrics to some linkin park songs today @ school. ( a freind had just gotten meteora)...now im not a fan of linkin park; but their lyrics are pretty good; and the tunes have feeling. i'd say that they are more artists than 90% of that recycled crap out there.
so rather than bashing linkin park; a group which IS making thoughtful, enjoyable music... why dont you go find some of that other aforementioned crap out there. trust me, you shouldnt have a problem finding any.
I think the RIAA is getting off rather light. What they're doing is illegal and they know it. Why else would they resort to suing college students, spamming kazaa...
its all desperate measures. they deserve whatever comes their way.
i dunno about you, but i'll keep on trading till cds are 5 bucks each...

mythica.org serverd over 400 *gigabytes* last night; and they're one of the smaller mirrors!
Ever heard of Halo? no? surely you've heard of Splinter Cell then? you havent?
*shrug* everyone i know who got SC for PC loved it; and we still talk about it often.
And i have it for XBOX, and was raving about it till it came out for the other systems.
maybe its just you.

yeah; but with the extra space; cant i just encode my mp3's at a higher bitrate?
i thought i got rid of this one a while ago... ever heard of a rave?

my submission of Linux on an mp3 player gets rejected, but when someone sticks an mp3 player in a semiautomatic weapon, it passes? phsst.
