Well I couldn't afford EGA in 1986, so I settled for a Commodore PC wth "PGA" (the P stands for Plantronics). It could display 16 colours at 320x200 on a composite monitor or TV. Very few apps actually supported this video mode. The one company that did was Sierra On-Line with their series of King's Quest, Space Quest and Police Quest games.
Depending on what you're studying, you may have to learn Chinese anyways if you're Korean or Japanese. And it's not like Chinese characters are complete random. If you learn the system you can "guess" the pronunciation and/or meaning. Except, mainland China have simplified a lot of the words (in the hopes of making them easier to learn) and have actually made it more difficult to deduce the meaning of new word (it relies more on context). They're better off creatiang phonetic alphabet like Korean or just use Pinyin.

You kind of wonder why they didn't continue down this line that they started. NES, Super NES, Super Terrific NES (N64), Ultra NES (GameCube), and finally Uber Super Teriffic Fancy NES.
Good points but most Canadians I know have active passports. This is less common in the USA. So if anything, it will deter USian tourists from visitting Canada, if our raising dollar hasn't already done that.
So as far as tourism goes. This is a net gain for the USA.
That's only if you run one app a a time. My Dual 1.6GHz Opteron system at home seems to be way more responsive than my 3.4 Ghz P4 at work doing similar things.
It just depends on what you use it for. For my purpose, 2 is better than 1, even if they are 2 slower CPUs.
Before you complain about oranges and apples, I chose my example also to highlight the fact that MHz ratings alone are meaningless. So on this point I do agree with you. But I'm pretty sure a stand alone P4 3.4 will kick a single 242 any day.
I don't even live in Vancouver but recognize the library used in the show from my last trip there. It kind of takes away from the mystery and awe of it all when you know that you have been at a place that's supposed to be Cylon occupied Caprica.
The Smart aren't that great according to a friend of mine that's spent some time in one. He works for the City of Toronto and often tests new vehicles like the hybrid Honda Insight, Honda Civic, Toyota Prius, Ford Escape.
His comments were that the Smart car is like riding a lawnmower with a roof over it; extremely noisy and it "feels unsafe".
And the great thing about the Honda Element is that tehinput jack in place in a location where there's also a spot for you to put your iPod or other AUX music players without worryign about it flying aroudn as you drive or cause a mess of wires.
Well all the inconsistencies can explained by the number of times they moved the town. They did it in that garbage episode, and mentioned that they've done it before.
Don't assume that when they move the town they put everything back in the same exact locations.
Move to Vancouver Island! Southernmost part of Canda, the capital of BC actually lies below the 49th parallel, as does much of the lower island. Some of the best fishing and crabbing in the world. I see orcas swimming in the juan de fuca from my deck, as well as bald eagles nesting in a nearby treetop.
Um, believe it or not most capitals of Canadian provinces are below the 49th parallel. More than 50% of the Canadian population lives south of the 49th. Toronto is further south than any location in BC including Vacouver Island. There are entire provinces (PEI, NB, NS) south of the 49th.
I think you meant to say southern BC is the warmest place in Canada based on average annual temperatures.
"You never really know someone until you fight with them"
That line is actually a popular Chinese saying. Not sure it's a proverb or just a saying made popular by Kung-Fu flicks. In any case... nothing orginal here, move along.
Same thing here, but when I went to Asia the key patterns were switched around and that really screwed me up the first time I tried to take money in China.
ObUselessFactoid: Incidently taking out cash from an ATM China is actually cheaper than doing the currency conversion with real cash.
By "Olympus and Kodak", you mean Nikon and Canon right?
I do have a camera on my phone but that's only because they don't make a model I like that doesn't have one. The quality is horrible. Even though my friends would say "oh neat a camera phone"... I always reply with "meh". For the same reason I really dislike camera on new PDAs too.

I have a Garmin 60C. The screen and battery life is two of its most important features. The reflective screen is great whether the sun is shining on it or not. I only use the backlight at night... Batetry life is an amazing 30 hours of contineous use..
As for maps, they are fairly expensive but the newest maps are pretty accurate, even for Canada. I'm amazed at what's actually in the database of points of interests.

But the Micro is now $99 CAD at FutureShop. At that price, I would just get the Micro.

It also helps to be the right skin colour and accent, or at least not the "wrong" ones.
I get waved through all the time too. My cousin, on the other hand, has gotten his car ripped apart.

Nice find. Where are my mod points when I need it.
Surprisingly, "litigious bastards in New York" has no hits.
Honda is a very forward thinking company though. They used to only make mopeds, now they make cars and trucks. They even have jets in the works.

Ford Escape is only in the game because they use Toyota's hybrid powertrain system.

I use to be annoyed at the IE only sites too until I found this extension
Now I browse with Firfox all the time unless I get to the site which it can't handle... then I just Right-Click and IE loads with the current URL.
