No they are not. They are like books or dvd's. Mostly used once and then sold, but if enjoyed on the first 'usage' then re-used and lent to friends. And this leads to the 'shared' experience that gets people talking about them.
Also the argument of selling an experience or service is a strange way of looking at games in my opinion. As I own the hardware that the game is run on, I pay for the electricity used to run said hardware, and I have to pay for the game. Thus I want to play as many times as I like, and then dispose of the game as I see fit, either to give or sell to who I want.
A game is like a piece of art, a finished product, that once you sell it too me, I can choose to hang it were I want or give to a friend to hang on their wall.
A service is something that 'someone' does for me, like mow the lawns, or provide electricity, on an ongoing basis.
And I concur with the parent poster, to me it sounds like there are too many sellers and not enough buyers, so the market will adapt to balance itself, thus inevitably there will be winners and losers.
I'm thinking that the idea was you'd have a whole suit made of this wonder fabric and it would know what position your arms, legs and body are in and how you are moving them in relation to the required steps for the song being danced too.
Could be a good idea, but having after doing 10 songs, you're hot and sweating, and the last thing you want it extra fabric stoping you from loosing heat.
I think the porn industry will find a way of 'using' this sooner than Konami and the dancing enthusiasts.
Thats what you think! The porn industry will have a new advertising initiative called 'lend a hand' for their newest product 'Ms Palmer' that will put a new spin on 'digit'-al entertainment:)
I would also suggest that another reason to use these sites is that there are only so many people in your social circles and groups that you might be interested in and over time they end up paired up with someone else, and the remaining are not quite what one is after.
I admit I have tried a couple of sites over the last 3 months, looking for the right lady to settle down with, have had success in meeeting for coffee and/or dinner, but no success for a long term relationship. So far I'm not sure if this is going to be way I'll meet my next partner, but I'm making it an option, work on/polish my profiles once a week.
I've thought about what qualities I'm looking for, and of those what I'm willing to pass up and those I'm sticking to, so I'm being a bit picky aiming at 90%+ compatibility.
I've done most of the initiating of convesations on these sites, and of the ladies that make the contact me, most of those give russian email addresses which I ignore. Have had no scam emails from the providers of the sites that I can tell, but at least I'll be aware of them if/when they happen.
... However people that are paid sometimes and not paid other times when they put money in a machine press a button will put money in a machine press the button all day long til they have no money... Sounds familiar?
While this would be a good thing, I still will continue screening calls with the answering machine and/or checking the caller id before answering.
An even better idea would be if the list were a Do-Not-Advertise-At-Me list, to cover all media, phones, email, snail-mail, letterbox drops. But thats just pie in the sky and not so feasable:(
Slightly offtopic, but.. I wish advertising were more limited. I notice this especially when travelling interstate as in Canberra there are no billboard signs to distract when driving, but in Sydney one is bombarded with it.
... I think this was covered in a Sponge Bob Squarepants movie.... Offer it as part of a meal deal at Micky D's, as a funky set of head gear, maybe similar to an ipod.
On a different track of thought, I wonder how well the technology works on other primates. If so there could be some serious monkey business to be had:)
has been done before, with office buildings that the australian public service occupy. They were previously owned by the government, but we sold to property management business that now rent them back to the government.
It is a way of generating lots of revenue for the govt of the day, which makes them look good when comparing budget spending to previous governments.
But the stupid electorate here don't seem to give a shit about that. Only how much they'll get from the 'baby bonus' for sprogging out more wage slaves/rant off
Is there any possibility of having some more environmental effects in the world?
Things like:
Weather - rain/snow, heatwaves, wind?
Mana dead areas - where spells dont work
Dark areas in caves so you need torches/light spells.
Didn't Mr Edison make over 100 prototype of lightbulbs before finding the successful version?
With Carmack is trying many different technologies, I presume that he is learning from each problem/difficulty with each model he works with. This shall eventually result in him having a broad and deep knowledge of the technologies involved, and give him the ability to achieve his goal, given enough time.
As there are many different types of metal that people have in/on their body, from decorative piercings to health related (pins from helping broken bones set to fillings in teeth), keys, jewelry.
I dread to think what would happen if you zapped someone with a pacemaker? Or a pregnant lady.
The sicko's that think this shit up should be the first people tested with this, in my opinion.
I personally avoid using Paypal if at all possible, which usually means I don't buy from sellers outside of Australia as I prefer paying/depositing directly to a persons bank account.
As I found it much easier to deal with a bank the one time I had a problem with a seller.
The few times I have used paypal, I dont view the transaction as secure in any way, so am prepared to possibly loose the money. Hence I am much more choosey about what I'm buying.
sorry, too busy eating a sticky date pi

The funny thing is that most of those same people like to watch sci-fi tv series. Go figure :)

Its not the fact you use a 'line' multiple times, but the fact you try talking to 1..N ladies until you succeed.
For those with the rejection proof ego that can go and do this, I say good luck to you.
DDR as in Dance Dance Revolution my friend :)

and he used a theremin for a couple of songs during his concerts. Also used a laser harp, which needed special gloves for.
:)
Now what I'd do (in relation to the original article) is set it up as a air drum kit
Thats what you think! :)

not quite what I had in mind when I wanted to stick it to Sony
There should have been Starship Troopers - ok the movie adaptation was crap, but the book was so much better.

If you were going to get a skin graft would you be able to have a tattoo printed on it as well.

I propose that UID's start to contain alpha and special characters, to make it harder to get your mouth around

Why is it I get the feeling this will be a re-enactment of sega's follies with the Saturn?
Just my opinion, I think the real reason that the PSOne did so well was that it was reasonably easy to mod-chip to allow pirated games to work.
...heat up faster?

Well you could eat the vegetarian one, just not the one with meat and two veg.
