bend or blend?
Came looking for this: http://www.willitblend.com/
Left feeling disappointed.
-
Will it blend?
-
Will it blend?
That sounds fantastic, but will it blend?
-
But...
I think BlendTec Will it Blend? would work quite well, don't you?
-
Most nerdworthy of all.
-
Yeah but...
Will it blend? (I hope he tries) http://www.willitblend.com/

Re:This had so much potential...
Throw an Apple, and few Blackberries in a blender and serve with Orange, Blendtec guy!
-
Re:now technology
Sheesh... whoever rated this flame bait out to grow a sense of humor...

Re:Here's the lesson
If you spot a lost cell phone, ignore it. Don't touch it, don't look at it, don't ponder it, and above all, don't be the one who calls attention to it.
No, no, no. The *correct* thing to do is to bring it home and put it in your blender.
Extremely satisfying, zero chance of legal repercussions. -
yea, but...
will it blend? That's what I thought
-
Re:Blend it...
I am absolutely certain that it will blend. If an iphone, ipad, skiis, and a high grade camera suite will blend, I'd be thoroughly surprised if an SSD couldn't. I'm still looking for something they blended with a metal case, though.

Re:Wow
some Star Trek nerds might speculate on how an economy like that depicted on Star Trek might work
In a way, that's the whole point of SF -- To explore how people relate to new technology, new cultures and new ways of living.
In 1966 it may have seemed far fetched to have the crew of the Starship Enterprise carrying around flippy communicators and tricorders while jotting down notes on tiny pad-like computers, but after years of watching and wondering "Why not?", here we are.

Blender server
As in Will it Blend? A V8 is recommended.
-
Re:Dump it in the garden
Composting works best with smaller pieces.
-
Re:If they don't want them
We really need to know, will it blend?
-
Anonymity?
Have some expectation of Internet anonymity? Unplug your computer and toss it in the local Blendtec Anonymity Service.
-
Re:Duh: use a WIll It Blend blender.
And after you shred the disk with the blender, don't forget to try to return it to get your money back.
-
Re:Oh really?
will the compiler find a better polygon intersection algorithm for me? Will it write a spatial hash? Will it find places when I am calculating something in a tight loop and move the code somewhere higher?
The real question in everybody's mind is: will it blend?
-
Re:Once upon a time
That's an episode of Will it Blend that I have yet to see.
-
Answering one of life's great questions........
..... Will it Blend? -
Enquiring minds want to know
To heck with that wimpy drop test... what we really want to know is Will it blend?

Only one thing to do...

The real question is...

Re:DOD Guidlines. Re:"The only fireproof
Why use a shredder... when you can use a blender?

Well...
The real question is, will it blend?
(See: http://www.willitblend.com/) -
Re:cant wait
Here is an even more permanent erasure method.
-
Re:I preferred shake to sync
FAIL- Blend Cryptoanalysis has been shown to divulge information from such mobile sync schemes.
-
Yes, It Blends!
-
but...
This is all well and good, but will they blend

Next subjects for experiments...Members of the general public were polled on what type of animals they thought should be used for the next "can it survive the vacuum and radiation of space" experiments. Some of the most common answers were:
- Politicians and lawyers were voted by almost everyone.
- Microsoft executives were voted by Linux fanboys.
- Dapper Drake, Edgy Eft, Feisty Fawn, Gutsy Gibbon and Hardy Heron were voted by Microsoft fanboys.
Interestingly, the RIAA was also a popular choice, but it was rejected on the basis that a multi-celled organism without a heart might not be alive. Some members of the public suggested it should be subjected to the "will it blend?" test to make sure.

Re:iPhone
I'm pretty sure that baby can do EVERYTHING! Right? Right?
I don't know about "everything," but it will blend!
-
You could answer the age old question...
...will it blend ?
http://www.willitblend.com/ -
Re:finally!
So you think your iPhone is tough... I think not...
-
Will it Blend?
you will 1. Have to pay full price to get a new one (not too surprising imo) and 2. Re-sign up for a 2 year contract
I assume the same would apply if the iPhone 2 were dropped into the BlendTec?
-
Re:Must...resist...saying
But will it blend?
-
Re:What kind of drop test is that?
Or the drop into a blender?
Hey, accidents happen. -
Safety ??
I was just wondering... what would happen in a car accident with the Li-Ion batteries? If you take a look at videos of hand-held devices being torn you'll see that all inside circuitry almost instantly turns into strange looking powder and smoke. What effect could it have on the poor driver?

Re:It's cool
In a related project, a team from Blendtec are close to completing a 20 ton working version of Babbage's less well known Grinding Engine Number 5, which will (briefly) be installed at the Computer History Museum later this year in an attempt to address a crucial question about the Difference Engine's design:

Re:But will it...
Chuck Norris does indeed blend!

Re:Secure erase
http://www.willitblend.com/ Put your 2.5" SSD disk in a http://www.blendtec.com/ and problem solved.
-
Re:Secure erase
Before we could just open the drives and smash the platters if you wanted to be really paranoid. Now, do we have to make sure we find all the flash chips and ensure each one of them is destroyed?
I think this method of disposal should work equally well for SSDs as it does for traditional HDs. -
Yes, but the real question here is...
-
Re:Confused
The only iPhone that cannot be unbricked is this one:

Re:I dunno

Re:USB power, that's not the question.
Yes, it will look like iphone sans the display. http://www.willitblend.com/videos.aspx?type=unsafe&video=iphone If you have that type of money available then contribute to
/. or some other better cause. -
What about ads that are also content?
Biggest example I can think of... Will it Blend? http://www.willitblend.com/
It is an ad campaign, but it is also video content. You don't get those kind of advertisements on TV. Maybe that's why online ad watchers are more engaged? The online ads are actually engaging?
Of course, I didn't read TFA. Is it referring to commercials within videos of TV shows online? Perhaps it's that viewers can't change the channel?
