What you probably don't understand is the defintion of "Cash Cow" - earnings are not reinvested, but are paid to the owners/stakeholders (in a publicly traded company, this would be as dividends). This does not imply that the students were charged more than they should have been, or more than was fair.
Until today, I worked in an overstaffed, underworked IT department that was not profitable. Needless to say, I no longer have a job. If you are really overworked and understaffed, management should be able to easily (well, maybe not that easily) justify the expense of your department to the higher ups in terms of overall cost savings to the company.
And I don't say that often, especially about software or a web site. Not only the quick zooming and scrolling of the maps, but the directions - I typed in my home address, and a popup asked me if I wanted directions to or from there. I typed in my work address - a somewhat complex, 25 mile route that mapquest could never quite figure out, and it gave me accurate directions for what I found out on my own to be the shortest route.
It seems that all these accessories do is make the mac mini BIGGER. In particular, looks-wise the steel "grandstand" pretty much turns your mac mini into an old Compaq desktop. If you wanted a larger mac, you have options - the point of the mini is that it is small.
Condidering the "time value of money", those books cost those people a fortune. And I thought Lucas was bad making us wait so many years between the first and second Star Wars trilogys - he's got nothing on this guy!
I disagree. (In fact, I'm in the market for a T3 right now, since my venerable Palm III isn't cutting it anymore). I don't like lugging multiple devices around, but I've had about 5 cellphones in the last 7 years or so and have kept the same PDA througout. I would truely be lost without it (contacts, calendar, to-do list, expense tracking, memos my primary uses). I dont want to have to throw out my PDA every time I get a new cell phone (or vice-versa).
I worked a number of fast food jobs in college, and ate where I worked (pizza hut, local campus place, amusement park). I never got sick of it, but that probably explains why I weigh over 220 pounds today:-)
Good comment, and I actually agree. My original post was partially meant to be flamebait, so I'm (pleasently) surprised at all of the insighful remarks!
Hoo-ray? In a sense it seems like a giant step backwards to 1960s technology. That may be fine for retro looking cars, but not space vehicles. Whatever happened to NASP (National Aerospace Plane) and all the high-tech and, more importantly, affordable to orbit vehicles that were under development before the rampant budget cuts?
Reminds me of the fake headline from "The Onion" of a WWII era newspaper. The headline in giant font covering the width of the paper was "WA-" followed by a small sub-heading "Headline continued on next page"
I would like Battlestar, except for those jerky camera moves. I find them very distracting from watching the story. Don't they have tripods and/or trained cameramen in the future??? Enterprise I can take or leave, but I guess I've mostly left it since I can't remember the last time I've seen an episode. Just to show you I dont hate everything, I was a big fan of the original series, Next Gen (except last two movies - bleh!) and even Voyager. Never got into DS9.
Interesting comment about the C64. Back in the day, one of the first programs I purchases was "Microsoft Flight Simulator" for the Commodore 64 after seeing an impressive demo at school. Back then I thought Microsoft was a merely a video game company. Ahh, the innocence of youth.
hmmm according to the survey results, entry-level jobs right out of college are paying about 50k/yr. Since most of the recruiters I've talked to are telling me jobs are paying in the 30s and 40s, maybe I should get my BS all over again! (I graduated in the dark days of 1986)

No offense - but RTFA. They wanted USA Today, but couldnt afford it.
Read the article - they got a special deal on the ad, othewise they were actually going for USA Today.

I will never use mapquest or yahoo maps again.
Actually, thats not a bad idea - do the reverse. Take a mac mini case and turn it into a working Atari 2600!

1. Short sell stock in tech company
2. Post story about said company and bring down their server
3. Stock in said company takes a nosedive
4. Profit!

Which of course brings us to the ob. Office Space Quote - "PC Load Letter??? What the F does THAT mean?"
huh, thought it was canceled a couple years ago. 'nuff said.

We DID have decendants of the 6502 - the Motorola 68000 series processors in the pre-power PC Macs.

Finally, if he was tried and convicted in Texas, he would have been executed.

Thank You! I'm glad SOMEONE got the joke. (Obviously not the moderators)
No bluetooth - smaller hard drive than my Dell - lame.
Star Trek Enterprise is still ON? I stopped noticing/caring years ago.
" we won't have any results for a few more days"
Doesn't give me much up that this is updated regularly and will be best source for the first pics.
