    First of all, there's no indication that President Trump is interested in an expansionist policy. In fact, the evidence suggests the opposite, that America will be entering a period of increasing isolationism and self-sufficiency.

    If you owe the Chinese a little money, they own you. If you owe them a lot of money, you own them. The US owes them north of $1.2T. The US could hit their economy by better than 10% by writing erasing that debt. That's not counting closing down imports from them. That would damage the US economy badly, but that move would drop China into a deep depression.

    My big question, what can they now do to restore confidence in the system? I actually don't have an answer to that question at this time.

    The next administration could prosecute those responsible for that government abuse and claw back their pay and pensions.
