Re:Why even post about Rust on Slashdot anymore?
The term "faggotry" is not homophobic. It is internet slang for shitty stupid behavior. SJWs are both aggressive with and proud of their shitty behavior. "SJW faggotry" is the best way to relay the depth of that issue to other readers in as few words as possible. Notably, even "faggot" and "fag" have commonly used non-homophobic meanings both in and out of Britain, referencing a meat dish and a cigarette, respectively. "Retard" has several meanings other than "mentally retarded."
Context is very important. Stop acting like these words are big evil no-no words.
Or perhaps it would be better to just tell you to stop being retarded and to cease this faggotry. -

Re: Scum of the Earth
Bullshit. They are doing no R&D and have no plans to do any. The CEO as noted by the GP epitomizes the therm "of scum of the earth". This is the second time he has abused the same loophole to jack the price of a generic life saving drug.

I'd probably be on suicide watch if I used Facebook everyday too.
Fortunately, I find Failbook much more entertaining. -

Re:Explain this to a non-Americal please..
For some reason democrats think their family does not stink.
http://cheezburger.com/7858274...
This sums it up *very* well.
I have been watching this for a long time. *BOTH* parties are equally to blame. In my state the D's presented a bill when they were in charge. The R's called it the worst thing evar!!! They are in charge the R's submit the exact same bill. Guess who thought it was the worst bill evar!!!!
If someone here does not think the D's are not doing the exact same crap as the R's they are not paying attention. The D's right now are playing 'look at what the big bad party is doing' game. As they want to setup for the next election. They do not want to get their asses handed to them again.

Actually, this sounds like a pretty good breakthrough... I thought someone had intentionally made a keyboard with bobcat pheromones or something in order to scare away cats and eliminate cat-like typing from keyboards everywhere.

Save Us Doctor!
Score another point for the Doctor. So just what evil force is it that runs Facebook? The cybermen? The Daleks are out because we already know they are behind apple. Witness the iDaleks of the new series, and the fact that the late chairman of apple was obviously Davros himself: http://cheezburger.com/4659524352

You must really buy crappy office chairs or your name is Kim Dotcom. I've had my office chair at work going on five years now and still have no problems with it. The cheap one I bought for my home office is still going strong after ten years. http://cheezburger.com/6227921664

Re:Okay, let's examine that decision
"Not that the conditions were amazing?" Read some accounts of what the Soviets did in the Gulags, particularly during the 1934-1944 period. To paraphrase (because books don't have Ctrl-F) Solzhenitsyn: "Before you are too harsh condemning the stool pigeons, keep in mind that virtually anyone you congratulate for having survived their ten-year sentence in Gulag was a stoolie."

Problem or...
... advantage? Any picture you post publicly is "at the mercy" of search engines, and your picture is then at the mercy of anyone with any scheme in mind to use you for advertising, a news article, or to make you look like a complete ass like at the link I just provided.
This is not a threat to privacy. A threat to privacy is pictures that you don't post publicly getting out into the public. The pictures you post publicly that are reused has nothing to do with privacy.
I would argue that the advantage of social media is to aggregate information via social graph rather than algorithm. That requires putting in information. Of course, people are often clueless about information they make public, and rather think it is all the service's fault. That may or may not be the case here, but I would guess that nobody is putting up sexting pictures on a business social site that are getting linked... which begs the question, what the hell were the picture uploaders thinking?

well, now that you mention it...

Re:Kid Friendly?
My son is just 5 years old, and he's heavy into his superhero phase. I think it's a crime that all of these movies are rated PG-13 while the toys are clearly aimed at capturing a younger audience who may not even get to see anything but the tv commercials. He's got no less than 3 different Captain America shields (one that I made him, one that his grandfather made him, and one we bought from the store). The one his grandfather made him - out of wood! - came with a home made Thor hammer. He doesn't care. He's Captain Thor America. So, somebody tell me - of this and all the other superhero movies this summer, would you take a 5 yr old? Just how scary/bloody is the violence? I expect that any "adult situations" will go right over his head (bordering on outright nudity and/or sex scenes, which I don't think these movies have). But a really scary monster/bad guy may give him nightmares. I know that most of the others will be gone from the theatre now, but as they start coming out on DVD, which would be the safest to let him watch? Help me out. I desperately want him to have the memory of going to these movies when they were a big deal, like I remember going to see Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark and E.T.

Good luck with that...
From TFA:
http://www.networkworld.com/news/2011/012011-the-case-of-apples-mystery.html
This isn't the first time Apple has used screws to gain an advantage. Apple had been using 5-point Torx screws for its MacBook Pros, not standard 6-point Torx screws."We did a little bit of research and found out that this particular screw has been patented," Wiens says. "It is illegal to import screwdrivers that can open this screw into the U.S. unless you buy it through Apple's sales channels. Apple sells the screwdriver for $40." (Wiens doesn't know if the Pentalobular screws have been patented.)
So I guess if you smuggle one of those penta(hahaha)lobular screwdrivers into USA you'll be an OUTLAAAW!
