Re:not really single-player
StarCraft 2 has cheat codes in it, their use just disables achievements until you start a new game or load an old one. Part of the issue is that this guy was using a program that let him cheat while still earning achievements and, according to the comments on the Rock Paper Shotgun article, cheat in the multiplayer too - both of which messes with the ranking system and in turn, causes all kinds of weirdness with their online matchmaking.
pfft... And this is what I think of Achievment Systems.

Re:Sure, move out.
Far more sensible for MS to move to Mumbai for most of their operations and keep the Dublin setup as it is. Staffing is cheap in Mumbai and there is a fast-growing computer/IT industry there and to top it all off a government that is willing to bend over backwards - for a small fee.
Sure! Why not.. Then we can see the irony of this happening: Tech Support Irony

no problems? i doubt that...
given the declining numbers of wildlife tigers, i DO see a problem.
given that tigers are already on their way to the red list, i DO see another problem.
your view is to system-centric.
one tiger for every jackass won`t do, because we`ld run out of tigers by friday 24hrs (its Friday 23:05 hrs here).
the problem was not the tiger. the tiger by itself was satisfied with it`s situation until some tiger-taunting idiot came along.
the idiot gave the tiger a reason to "defend its turf", e.g. a necessary, normal (for a tiger or a human - no difference) action.
if i where to throw tiger-dung against the idiots home door, he`ld surely also come out.
what I do not get is - why did they have to shoot the tiger in first place. I`ld rather have them put guards up there (tigerpolice anyone)
that shoot taunting idiots on sight, than risk loosing another tiger of that dwindling population to the idiocy virus. after all,
there is enough humans left on this planet - something you can`t say about tigers.
try have a look:

and yes - i think foamy is right, regarding idiotic kids in (un)amusement parks:

mess with the tiger, get eaten by tiger. simple rule. after all you can't wash the stripes of the tiger. -
Re:SKU SKU SKU SKU
NO! It's for the premium XBOX.
NO! It's for the basic one that actually works for what it says on the box. People don't buy something that can't patch, can't save, can't connect to the net without buying upgrades! Come ON, what's with all the PREMIUM nonsense? I own a 360 and I nor any other owner I know of EVER talked like that. Don't any of you realize how lame you sound?
Sorry to parody your response but it's a little hypocritical to complain about SKU vs. Premium when no one considers the Premium anything other than the basic, working X360.
It's like getting upset that people call Starbucks swill a SKU when "everyone" knows it's a 'tall', 'grande', etc. As Foamy explains, "when was the last time you went in to Taco Hell, ordered a Taco Grande and got a medium sized taco?" In the same way, when was the last time you talked bought a "premium" car just to get them to put the fuel tank in? If Ford tried to sell you a "basic" version that didn't include a fuel tank, requiring you to upgrade or constantly prime the engine by hand in order to get it to do anything, you'd be suing them. To sell a modern console that can't save games, can't patch them when they're buggy, can't go online, can't play your music, or any of the other features it says on the box as a "basic" version is just as ludicrous.
Premium/Basic doesn't exist in people's minds, just as SKU doesn't. There's version that does what it promises/cheap ploy at making it seem more affordable while gouging you even more to get it functional. -
Re:Two Things. 1.) YouTube works and...1. Does Youtube work?
YouTube (and google video) has worked since the beta in December. There was even a site created to help autoformat it so all videos display nicer on the Wii. This is just a front end to YouTube's site so you can bypass it if you don't care for how they are formatting it. Of note Strongbad, and Foamy work great too.
Does it handle streaming audio/video?
The beta didn't do shoutcast, but I have been using Finetune for quite some time.

I think this sums up this "study" quite well

Re:So, you worked for Starbuck's, eh?
True story? I think perhaps you're thinking of Foamy the squirrel The episode you want is called "Coffee House Propaganda".
-
Re:Sorry - you're a bit new, I assume.Weed doesn't make people stupid... But it certainly reinforces the level of stupidity the person had before starting. And here is Foamy's thoughts on the matter: "Drugs in your head" http://www.illwillpress.com/vault.html, bottom left corner area.

Simey says it best
Leave it to a squirrel to condense the problem into a 2 minute rant. http://www.illwillpress.com/cds.html/

Feasibility or Service?
This was the first thing I thought about with this article.

Re:Lulu.tv
Well my point is that an episode of Family Guy is going to be very obviously tagged as copyrighted material not belonging to the poster. Here is my concern: If I were making flash cartoons/ video and making it availble for download on my personal website, someone could easily take such material, which has a very limited distribution, and upload it to one of these services claiming to be the creator. Imagine if that had happened in the early days of some of the more popular flash cartoons like Foamy the Squirrel http://www.illwillpress.com/? If these were uploaded by someone other than the copy holder and became wildly popular, that someone could gain remuneration from the copyrighted work of others.

Re:Outsourcing to China

Reminds me of this: http://www.illwillpress.com/tech2.html -
Re:Ban annoying ring tones
Go to Ill Will Press and download the foamy ringtone.
"Follow the sound of my voice and kill whoever is holding the phone!"
Now install it on some annoying plicks phone ;) -
Re:Still waking up
Fucking Starbucks. Screw the terminology, I just want a medium cup of coffee-flavoured coffee, not Advanced Coffee Substitute.
-
Re:Ex Caffeine Junky
For a laugh related to that subject, check out the Ill Will Press (flash-based cartoons featuring neurotic and foul-mouthed squirrels - it might make sense when you see it). Look for the one entitled "So I Said to My Doctor."
-
Re:It's not the accent anymore
They usually ask me if I like ice cream

I suggest "Small, Medium, Large" and "Coffee house propaganda."

Re:Indeed.
I've had enough of calls from Indian call-centre workers saying they're in Melbourne. It's great when you ask them how the weather is there, and they say the complete opposite of what it acutally is.
Smell tech support 1.
Smell tech support 2.
These of course from Foamy! -
Re:You can install on laptops
They still left one out. XP Media Center Edition. Unless they're considering that an Embedded edition. I'm running MythTV so it's not an issue, but it would suck to not be able to watch Foamy the Squirrel on my plasma tv.

Re:For those who don't want to RTFA, the top 10:
How could they forget cute little Foamy the squirrel. He's like Strong Bad on cafeine!
-
Re:Please explain...
You should use Firefox and using Firefox you should use the superbly excellent Flash Block and Adblock.
This isn't rocket science people. How else are you going to watch Ill Will Press? -

You mean... like this?
-
Re:The Coffee made me do it.
Huh? I thought there was already a precedent for beating Starbucks employees due to the fact that... well.... they're starbucks employees.
-
tech support!
You should outsource your support to another country so that everytime someone needs help, they can talk to a human being. Look, how amazing tech support is.

Haven't we known this?

Damn overclockers."Duuude, if we can keep the squirrels at 26F, we can overclock them by at least 50%."
Just what the world needs - supercooled squirrels that run even faster.
Now no birdfeeder will be safe.
(Somewhere in here, Foamy from Ill Will Press's "Neurotically Yours" should get mentioned...)
