Don't forget,
The devil will appear in a pleasing form.
This is just MSNBC's way of saying, "Really! We're well balanced journalism."
Give em a few weeks and they'll jump back on the slate-wagon of prank calling Judge Thomas-Pennefield Jackson in the middle of the night.

Analogies
"Neutron stars are the vestiges of immense supernova explosions, collapsed stars with extremely compact cores, denser than all known objects except black holes. A teaspoonful of a neutron star would weigh one billion tons, as much as all the cars and trucks on Earth."
That would be one impressive teaspoon.

Keeping up Appearances.
"Intel spokesman Chuck Mulloy said the company knows it could come off looking to some like a bully."
This is the understatement of the year.
The yoga people are offering the Intel Exec's free lessons so that they can learn to be a little more "flexible." If I were in Intel PR, I'd jump on that opportunity right away, and issue a press release the next morning.

Why do people keep
talking about this like its new news? It's like every three months people forget and have to report it again. This has been constantly reported since at least since 1997.
This is why I think there's some kind of mind control going on in the windows OS environment that keeps people from remembering this story. Thats why only alternate OS (Mac Linux etc) users really remember it month to month. Oh well, I guess it gives C-Net something to publish.

AntiGravy
"James Cox, editor of AntiGravity News, lists no less than seven major classifications of anti-gravity devices, from those based on superconductivity, to those that exploit properties of gyroscopes and purported anomalies in nuclear physics or quantum mechanics. Cox himself is working on an anti-gravity backpack that he claims is nearing the patent stage. He is currently seeking funding to develop a commercially viable prototype."
I love how the web has made every Kook with a website an "Editor"--and a reasonable source for story on a scientific topic.

Fox, ABC, NBC
"When ABC News (Disney) and Fox News (News Corporation) discuss this, they're not going to be spending much time talking about the downside."
That is, unless they can relate it to the plot of a movie their production studios currently have in wide release. Then it will be the lead story!

More fodder for the pseudo-science of denying the existance of global warming.
Amazing. Global warming and Ozone depletion in 70 billion B.C. was caused by a SuperNova. Global warming in the 1970's was caused by the Chevy Nova.

AvantGo
I've got to say, I'm a fan of AvantGo's service but not their client relations. I spent months trying to establish a channel through them, (I was practiaclly begging to pay them money) and they just about ignored me. And this channel wasn't schlock either, it was up-to date news information on the status of nuclear nonproliferation worldwide.
I never have figured out how that business plan works. Ignore your customers and make them beg you to provide them service. We'll, I guess it works for my cable isp anyway.

Soon, @home will be our victim, but right now, it's only Michael Jackson, Verizon, the Pentium 4 and Ain't it Cool News

Only AOL Time Warner Turner, News Corp, Verizon and Oprah should be allowed to make Web pages.

I hate to be a stick in the mud but,
Licensed airwaves is a good thing. It ensures that frequencies remain useable and don't obstruct other frequencies. If anyone could broadcast on any frequency, the airwaves would be useless due to noise.
Maybe more work needs to go into reforming the regulation policies instead of developing free-for-alls.

Fear the box office of Harry Potter! -
But how does it run
Perhaps if MS had not shurgged off serious Java development so early in thier OS cycle, they could join in on this buttery goodness. Now you can only buy software like this for windows from companies more interested in labeling themselves "enterprise" than producing affordable, useful stuff.
But how does it run on a Pentium? -
Except on AICN.
AICN's message boards are definitely facts. Every one of them.

The palm m505 is so hopelessly overpriced that these things have to potential to sell well. I've been a plam user from the start but I'm looking for an alternative. Let's just hope the usual open source tilt towards completely ignoring any kind of marketing doesn't haunt DA.

I hope it doesn't put off any harmful radiation like the pentium 4.
