Wow, it's slow.
If it does stop, here is the mirrordot link.
That said, what impresses me is that they pulled it off with an A64 3200.

Linking Conventions? A rant and a MIRROR
Joining the celebration is Baskin Robbins, which is serving up a free scoop of ice cream in honor of the day Yahoo began climbing the ranks from its humble beginning.
If your going to link just the name Baskin Robbins, shouldn't that go to their corporate site for more information about the company? Should the article not be linked to the "...serving up a free scoop of ice cream..." part? There should be a standard, where you link articles to the verb and nouns are used for clarification. -

normally link to mirrordot would give you the free karma, but the site was down before they could grap a copy.
I think after all these years /. shoudl behave more responsible to slashdot kills. (like give mirrordot a 20 minutes response time to mirror the site) -

Let me be the first to say, "Thank you Mirrordot!" and "Thank you Google Cache!"
-
Re:In the mean time
Actually, if the site doesn't respond, the browser hitting the site will never see the html containing the url of the hit counter, so the counter will never be incremented.
The only reason this counter is getting incremented is because people are hitting the mirrored version of the pages on mirrordot.org which displays the same counter at the bottom. -
Re:Did anyone torrent it?Look at the URL, "http://www.tpu.fi/~t4jlaaks/ep3/". Looks like a free home page. Obviously it's going to be offline the moment this goes live, with 88 photos, each about 150k.
Mirrordot got it all. Slashdot is never going to do anything about this; it's been in their FAQ for about 4 years as something to think about. They don't fact check, spell check or dupe check, so expecting them to cache a page somewhere is just wishful thinking.

Re:/.'edHeres the google cache.
Nice thought, but the Google cache DOESN'T INCLUDE IMAGES. If you see any, they're from the original site, so (for an article like this, where the picture is vital) you'd save time just waiting for the original page to load. (This rant provoked by the idiots modding it "informative", no disrespect meant to the well-intentioned OP.)
Mirrordot however does usually get both the images and text; if the page isn't brand new, try the Wayback Machine.
