The con artist must be having an apoplectic fit
Expect to hear of some kind of "tax" being imposed on companies who don't use coal, or any fossil fuel. The excuse will be they're killing jobs as well as falling for that Chinese hoax of climate change. The same hoax the con artist cited in his need to build a sea wall around his failing Irish golf course.
“If the predictions of an increase in sea level rise as a result of global warming prove correct, however, it is likely that there will be a corresponding increase in coastal erosion rates not just in Doughmore Bay but around much of the coastline of Ireland. In our view, it could reasonably be expected that the rate of sea level rise might become twice of that presently occurring. As a result, we would expect the rate of dune recession to increase.”
Maybe the con artist will suddenly be into regulations and force the company do years of environmental studies to determine the effects of not pouring CO2 into the atmosphere when producing electricity.

You mean "doing his job by maintaining diplomatic ties with another nation's leader?"
We don't know whether he's doing his job or committing treason, because we don't get any transcripts or recordings.

You've been told everything you have the security clearance to know.
You might be satisfied with that, since you celebrate ignorance. I am not.

Sorry? I think you mean Hillary Clinton.
Trump destroys emails too, but more relevantly, he's been spotted destroying his notes on more than one occasion.

You DO realize you just asked the man to prove a negative right?
No, that's not what I did at all. I want some evidence of good faith, of which there has been none.

Re:The partisan morons are revealed
> These two are paid with taxpayer dollars to advise the president.
That statement is patently false - they do not take government salary of any kind.
"first daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump, son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner and intergovernmental and technology aide Reed Cordish — take home no pay from taxpayers, according to the disclosure." - https://www.politico.com/story...
Thank you for falling for my trap. It was so obvious I thought nobody would bite. But given that you seem to be paying some attention...
Here is Newsweek: Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner Made More Than $82 Million While Working at White House.
So, you consider this OK? You think there are no conflicts of interest here?
I remember when Republicans were so morally outraged by someone losing $52K on a real estate deal called Whitewater before they were eleccted that they spent $70M+ of taxpayer dollars investigating it.
I remember when Republicans insisted that an elected president sell off his peanut farm, in his family for generations.
But Republicans don't seem to care about any of this: Trump just sold (less than a month ago) a condo for $2.9M -- highest prices in that building ever -- to a foreign interest willing to pay a way-above market price for what reason do you suppose. Don't waste time pretending it is something DJT delegated -- his own signature is on the document. It is speculated that he needed the money to pay off fines (the same amount, roughly) that the Republicans don't care much about either.
So I get it that Republicans don't care beyond an occasional harumph on cable news. Trump appoints the far-right judges they want and signs off on tax breaks. What I don't get is the partisan morons that support this even though it has nothing to do with their own self interest.
As I said: partisan morons. And Buttery Males.

There have been no changes in the law to prevent exactly the same thing from happening now and there are no efforts to determine if it still happening.

Re:Contradiction on Contradiction
Ans who has factored in the greater weight of water causing the ocean floor to be compressed a bit further than it is already? Even a rice of a few inches is a massive pressure increase on the ocean floor.
Uh, yea, about that: "Over the past 20 years, ocean basins have sunk an average of 0.004 inches per year. This means that the ocean is 0.08 inches deeper than it was two decades ago.". Ie, of the distances involved the ocean floor sank 5% of the water and the ocean surface level rose 95% of the water. So, yea, more melted ice will pretty clearly cause a lot more of a surface rise.
Meanwhile, the problem with all that ice is two fold. Up until now, thermal expansion has been about 50% of the driver of ocean level rise. But as more and more ice melts into the ocean, that'll become a massive contributing factor maybe thermal expansion take an overall backseat to 20%. Of course the higher the ocean, the more ice can be washed off and melted. If things keep heating up, maybe thermal expansion will grow to a larger percentage again. In any event, all the fresh water will change the salinity of the ocean which is part of a massive driver of ocean circulation both on the surface and subsurface. That could cause all sorts of havoc for ocean life (we still eat a lot of ocean life) and global weather patterns (we really need consistent rain in a lot of areas, or we'll have to start investing heavily in massive irrigation projects).
But, yea, go back to your "skepticism" or whatever you like to call it.

New Horizons Scientists Double Down on 'Ultima Thule' Nickname Despite Nazi Associations
The excitement around NASA's New Horizons spacecraft arriving at its latest target, an oddly shaped object called (486958) 2014 MU69, has dredged up a fact that often goes unstatedâ"the object's nickname, "Ultima Thule," carries links to Nazism.
Though most people haven't heard of the term's unsavory use by the Nazis, the New Horizons team was aware of it and went with the name anyway, science reporter Meghan Bartels reported for Newsweek in March 2018. The New Horizons team continues to defend the term today.
But just looking at the Wikipedia page for "Thule" reveals that according to far-right German mythology, this place was the original origin of the "Aryan race." According to Bartels' reporting, the term acquired this connotation in the 19th century and was used by the Nazi party. NASA and the New Horizons team considered the alternate meaning and included it in the vote anyway, since this wasn't the "primary association," Mark Showalter, an astronomer on the New Horizons team, told Bartels. The name didn't get the most votes from the public, but NASA decided that it was the best fit for the object.
He did not address why the team decided on the name despite already knowing about the negative connotations. Plenty of symbols, like eagles and lighting bolts, have gained secondary, nefarious meanings due to Nazi associations - but "Ultima Thule" was selected despite the secondary meaning still used today by neo-Nazis and members of the alt-right, and at a time where Nazism is on the rise in the United States.
More from Newsweek: NASA NAMED ITS NEXT NEW HORIZONS TARGET ULTIMA THULE, A MYTHICAL LAND WITH A NAZI CONNECTION
On Tuesday, NASA announced their temporary nickname for the New Horizon missionâ(TM)s current target: Ultima Thule. The spacecraft is due to fly past on January 1, 2019, and the team was getting tired of using its official designation, 2014 MU69. Thereâ(TM)s just one issue: the name has some unsavory connotations. It was adopted by the forerunners to the Nazi party, and the term remains in use by modern so-called alt-right groups.
"The Nazis were fascinated by space and rocketships and things like that," Kurlander said. (During the 1940s and beyond, NASA thrived by hiring noted German rocket engineer Wernher Von Braun and other scientists who had worked for the Nazi regime.)

Somebody downmodded you and I just spent all my mod points, so I'm quoting your post here because I think it's something more people need to consider.
Yesterday, we learned that China will be publicly shaming j-walkers using facial recognition. NPR asked if this was the beginning of an era where no transgression against the law would go unnoticed and unpunished. Now we see a country with a huge citizenry demanding access to (effectively) all personal information without protection of privacy. This is one of today's announcements in an unending chain of events ratcheting up tyranny around the globe.
What made, and to the extent we still have it, Makes America Great, is and always has been a promise of true liberty and freedom, however well fulfilled, to be your own person, to think your own private thoughts, to fulfill your own dreams, to seek happiness. This dream brings people to our nation who are beaten on suspicion of thinking thoughts deemed improper. When America champions this idea around the world, it gives ALL people (who can hear it) hope that one day they will live in a place that allows them to express themselves personally as they really are.
Every time I read about technology enabling oppression, suppression, tyranny, and conformity
.. a forced way to think, with tools to root out all transgressions to the prescribed ways, as this policy in India does - I am fearful for the future of liberty, and even just democracy. We should be looking at these actions as examples of what NOT to do.. and yet they are increasingly harbingers of what our leadership WILL do here in America. We watch what happens abroad with horror, and then watch while people embrace and defend these horrors at home. I am baffled.

Tylenol is NOT easier to OD on.
Acetaminophen/Tylenol/Paracetamol is NOT easier to overdose on.
Fentanyl has an LD of 3.1 mg/kg in rats, and 0.03 mg/kg in monkeys.
Tylenol has an LD of 338 mg/kg in mice (oral); 1944 mg/kg in rats (oral).I.e. It is much easier to OD on fentanyl. BUT... and this is the part people don't IIRC...
There ARE more OD's on tylenol than on fentanyl... primarily cause it is so common and cause a lot of those happen with small children, due to their weight ratios being more favorable for an overdose.
BUT... and it's a big one... nearly all those overdoses on tylenol ARE NOT FATAL.https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-en...
Paracetamol overdoses
About 50,000 people are admitted to hospital each year in the UK due to overdosing on paracetamol
According to the Office of National Statistics 219 deaths in 2016 were linked to paracetamol, up from 182 in 2012
Pills are usually 500mg, and over-the-counter purchases are restricted
The British Medical Journal says any dose of more than 4g or 75mg/kg over 24 hours for an adult is classed as an overdose
Overdosing on the drug can seriously or fatally damage the liver
Intravenous acetylcysteine is used to treat overdoses and treat hepatotoxicityAlso, if you're munching 500mg tablets four times a day to kill the pain or fever, you're already half way to what constitutes an overdose - though it is clearly FAR from an LD, even in mice.
I.e. People are "overdosing" on tylenol in a very "better safe than sorry" use of the term "overdose".Meanwhile, DEATHS from overdosing on fentanyl in the US and its analogues has gone up from ~6000 in 2014, ~10000 in 2015, ~19000 in 2016 to ~29000 in 2017.
But have no fear. Trump has the best vaguely human-shaped leftover protoplasm working on it.
And it has already found the cure! Amazingly - it's ice cream and fries! Whodathunkit! It's really tragic actually...
To think that thousand of lives could have been saved if only someone got those people to a McDonald's in time...

Re:Uh huh
She wasn't when she used personal e-mail; in fact, at that time, it would have been a crime for her to use a Federal Government e-mail BEFORE she was an employee. When the e-mails in question were sent, she was, in fact "just the President's daughter".

After advising her father in an unofficial capacity for the first two months of his administration, she was appointed Advisor to the President, a government employee, on March 29, 2017. She takes no salary.[3] Prior to becoming a federal employee, she used a personal email for government work.
She did this BEFORE being a Government employee. In other words - it isn't an issue. Or can we toss you in prison because you may have e-mailed a Government official sometime? Even if you weren't a Government employee?

Re:Classified?
For Hillary, yes. For Ivanka, according to that "right wing" source Newsweek, reports:
In a statement to Newsweek, a White House spokesperson pointed out that Trump was not a federal employee at the time she sent the February 28 email. When she became a federal employee in March, “she made clear that one of her reasons for doing so was to ensure that she would have access to government-issued communications devices and receive an official email account to protect government records,” the spokesperson said. The spokesperson added that prior to her obtaining an official account, Trump’s emailing other official accounts “ensured the records were preserved and available under the Federal Records Act.” Trump did not have an official email account as a first daughter at the time, according to the spokesperson.
What few e-mails were sent, were sent BEFORE she was a Government employee and required to use Government e-mail servers. She requested to become a Federal employee so she could use Federal e-mail systems. There is NO claim she used her personal e-mail AFTER she became a Government employee. This is a nothingburger created by Hillary's supporters to try to justify her brazen breaking of the LAW regarding e-mail and security.

Re: Democratic control
Let's see a more balanced version of the story (ever since reporters at the Washington Times called me an idiot for supporting Obamacare, I have dismissed them as angry, hateful partisan hacks):
"The Texas Democratic Party is proud to have made an unprecedented investment to provide eligible Texans with the opportunity to vote," Garcia said. "Using the secretary of state's voter file, national change of address information and consumer data, the Texas Democratic Party mailed voter registration applications to a large number of people who may have moved to Texas, changed their or a loved one's address, or are members of Texas' diverse and rising electorate. These data sets are large, complicated and imperfect. Nonetheless, every mail piece makes absolutely clear that applications are affirming under penalty of perjury that they meet all of the eligibility requirements to vote."
I mean, sure if you think all brown-skinned people don't have a right to vote, you will think that any drive to try and get them to register to vote is "encouraging illegal voting".

Re:Trump's the president
Most of us that thought Obama was at least a half decent President disapproved of his drone strikes among a good number of other things he did. Despite consternation from that right that the left deified him and never criticized him that was never true. Every President has marks on their record and hopefully every President has good accomplishments. Right now the only accomplishment from Trump I can get behind is a pay increase for our military which is more self serving since I have family in both the Marines and the Army.
In short, we said a lot of words about Obama just like we're saying a lot of words about Trump. I'm not sure where you get the idea that "Not. One. Word." bullshit. Were you totally not alive when Snowden first revealed the existence of the drone strike program? Since you're referring to it now I know that's not the case and you're just trying to deflect Trump's actions on to the previous President. A great many people said a great many words about this and they were on all sides of the political spectrum.
Maybe you got caught up in the actual bullshit that is Fox news that tried to fuel controversy over the birth certificate issue by airing a story about how he uses Dijon mustard for heaven's sake.

Re: Does anyone really believe the government he
Uh-huh, so why are we defending him?
Because injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, remember that annoying ditty, professor? If NSA were illegally surveilling his phone, they broke the law. He ought to walk just to teach them a lesson. Does the name Ernesto Miranda ring any bells? He was far worse that Cody Wilson — his crime was not a pseudo "assault", but a real kidnapping and rape. Yet, he walked, because his Constitutional rights were violated by police — and now his name is immortalized in the term "Miranda Rights"...
So, the Trump administration is pushing the prosecution of this guy? Is that your assertion?
The same swamp, that leaned on Norway to go after Assange, who now push Trump's own prosecution, is after this guy, that's my conspiracy theory.
Sometimes, the simplest explanation is the best one: he bought a prostitute from a website that specializes in extra-young girls and he committed rape.
He is not even accused of rape — the charges are "sexual assault". In Arkansas — across the border — 16 is old enough, for example, stop trying to vilify him over a Malum Prohibitum transgression.
Now, that site, which you claim is specializing in the "extra young" — I'll take your word for it — they must have a substantial customer-base, don't you think? Just to stay in business, uhm? And this one can not possibly be the only girl, who's a tad too young to be legal. Why is Cody Wilson the only one prosecuted? Shouldn't the site be busted open — as "Backpage" were — if they "profit from rape"? Or, if this girl is an anomaly, how could Wilson have suspected her age? As the OP said, this case does not smell right at all...
What should worry you is the threat to our privacy — but, of course, it does not. It is only important, when Communist terrorists need to get off the hook. When it is about a guy who defends the Bill of Rights, you jeer and wish him to burn.
-
Re:I tole you
You one won,
No, I one (sic) two. Hillary lost and Trump's a racist. I also predicted that Cody Wilson, the guy who owns Defense Distributed, and who thought it would be clever to release the plans for a 3D printed gun, was a pedophile, and he's just been arrested for assaulting an underage girl he met online.
So that makes me three for three.

Mother Jones Was All Over This Years Ago
Mother Jones had a series of articles covering the fact that BPA substitutes were untested and likely to have essentially the same endocrine disrupting effects as BPA because they are chemically very similar to BPA.
Here's one article from 2014.
After reading their coverage I switched to glass containers for all leftover food and I never microwave anything in a plastic dish. If I buy something that comes in plastic and is intended to be cookied in the packagin, I dump it into a glass dish and microwave it that way instead.
Here's some crazy stuff you probably didn't know - those thermal receipts that you get at the grocery store and fast food places are chock full of BPA, its a necessary component to the thermal printing process. And just handling a receipt gets BPA into your bloodstream - not very much, one or two receipts isn't going to make a noticeable difference. But, there are two chemicals that massively acclerate the absorption through your skin - grease (like from fast food) and hand sanitizer. Get either of those on your skin before you touch the receipt and you get ~100x the dose. And if you are cashier who touches a couple of hundred receipts every day, well that's not healthy.
