Re:Looks Interesting
How would it help you switch weapons? What endless possiblities with the buttons? By the looks of it, or what I can gleam off the weak article, it has adjustable weight (how hard is it to control a mouse, really?), a fourth button somewhere (there's a little red thing on the left side, but the article describes a button high and to the right), and a scroll wheel.
Other than the weight changing, which I doubt is worth the high price tag that this is likely to earn, this mouse has nothing special going for it. Take the 5+ year old Intellimouse Optical that I'm using, which was one of the first optical mice that didn't require a special mousepad. It has a clicking scroll wheel, and buttons on the left and right sides which are large and easy to press. That's five buttons and a scroll. The endless possilbities!
Honestly, I don't have a clue about what the parent is on about, or the point of this article at all. -
That's the best interview I've ever read...Heres a coral cached link: http://www.1up.com.nyud.net:8090/do/newsStory?cId
= 3146777 since it wasn't loading for me.
But seriously..."1UP: What stood out about the casting of Kristanna Loken? In the latest issue of FHM (an American men's magazine), she's quoted on the cover as saying "I love being naked." C'mon, tell us, that must be it.
UB: yes. and she is in the movie naked""1UP: It's understandable Meatloaf had fun working with the prostitutes during filming, but how did you even come up with the idea of casting Meatloaf? How did you track him down?
UB: he has LOKENS manager"
Yes, THAT is how to cast a film! -

Gizoogle makes the entire thread funny as shit to read -
I'm sure this was warned of in Revelations:McBlare: A Robotic Bagpipe Player
Dear God no! That is wrong on so many levels. I'm pretty sure that's contra the Geneva convention and several human rights treaties.

Re:People largely get mad due to fixable things.Amen.
I don't mind academic research into things like this, but it's utterly impractical. We don't need empathic computers. We need software that isn't stupid.
Stupid software is the result of lazy programmers and lazy or inept software designers (though the two categories often overlap). For example, if your program gets a NamingException, you do NOT display an error dialog with "Operation failed due to NamingException." That's just insulting. Of course a user will want to kick the computer for that.
A real professional will write his program so it either falls back on a hard-coded default or provides the user with some actual solutions, like: "There was a problem communicating with the network. Have an administrator examine the program's log file." (A "Show Details" button would be nice, just in case the user knows what a NamingException is.)

A video of the actual joint
If you're just curious about what this new gimbal looks like, tntech.edu has a video showing how it works. Or, for those who don't like Coral cache, here's a link to the original site.

Pfft. How can anyone call this silly?
It's perfect next to my RAM w/digital readouts, blacklight sensitive motherboard, and glowing power supply
(none of which are silly)

Not only that, but as the kernel is under 50Mb, it can be cached using Coral Cache: 2.6.15.

Re:also know as the PvP whiners rejoice patch
Where did you get this info on pets supposedly being nerfed in 1.9? I don't see it anywhere in the detailed patch notes at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com.nyud.net:8090/patc
h notes/test-realm-patchnotes.html
I'm neutral on this issue. I didn't mind the idea that some pets are better than others, as it makes pet taming that much more interesting and useful. On the other hand, it again gives those with no life an advantage over casual players.
Also, to whomever it was that mentioned that unequal pets would cause everyone to have the same pet: It's just as bad when the choice is arbitrary. In Guild Wars there is almost no difference between pets, and as a result 95% of Rangers have the cat pet that you are forced to tame as part of an early Ranger quest. -
