There's already a whole expanded universe to use..
Frankly, enough already about Vader and Solo. Talented authors like Timothy Zahn have taken the series in new directions, with new characters (Mara Jade, Luke's future wife and their son Ben Skywalker), but will we get to see these characters play out?
The Thrawn Trilogy, set a decade after ROTJ ought to have been made. But no, the movies get to go in an entirely different direction, so how do you reconcile the expanded universe fiction that's been written so far - the entire New Jedi Order series for example?
Oh well, it's only a bunch of old time Star Wars fans that are gonna grumble. -
Re:Uh-huh
Agreed.. the Vita has breathed new life into a number of games that were painful to play at best... and they have just about all the useful second-stick mappings now. There are still a few odd/impossible things (button+stick) that won't be possible to fix, but hey, 3rd Birthday is a real shooter now, and Monster Hunter no longer requires The Claw to play!

So if that's the case, the new Lucasfilm will continue to churn out movies you don't enjoy, just like the current Lucasfilm. Nothing will change, except Lucas' money room will be filled with actual money instead of Jorg Sacul figures.

I gotta admit, this is somewhat interesting.
Remember the original iMac and Mac OS X 10.1? The original iMac had these lines in the plastic. Mac OS X 10.1 also had these lines. As Apple hardware went more metalic, so did the interface.
I wonder if we'll see more of that "integrated whole" type of thing.

Re:Freeside Support
We spoke to one of the developers on the project who basically told us this difficulty was intended and let us know he'd be extremely impressed if we got it installed without his help.
Freeside is the main slum of New Vegas in 2281. Controlled by the Kings and the Van Graffs, the streets are dangerous and lack the luster of the New Vegas Strip. There is a conflict between the locals and squatters.

Re:You are making the problem worse
I don't give a crap whether it's Catholicism or Linux, imposing your religious beliefs on a 3 year old is just plain wrong. Like religion, exposing them to a variety and letting them make their own choice is going to make them a more well-rounded person/nerd. If they decide to be a Mormon or Windows user and you disown them, that's your own hangups.
Maybe you could see if they'd port this game to Linux...

You Can Do Better Than Just In Memoriam
Michael Mamaril
In a game that is the diametric opposite of class, a fan lost to cancer was memorialized in a way that is actually pretty touching. Working on the premise that this should be somebody the player is happy to see, unlike the majority of the cast, whenever he's around, he chats with you and gives you a really excellent gift.
The thing you're making probably doesn't have that kind of scope, but the basic idea is this: if you want to pay your respects in code, don't bury it or put it at the end of a credits list. Pick something about your program that aids ease of use or enjoyment, and put her there somehow. Make people happy your grandma is around. -
Re:Why should I care?
I have no substantiated information on what type of vessel was used in the attack and doubt you do either. It doesn't really matter though UK government documents make clear the Prime Minister made the choice not to take the tower by force due the cost in resources and life.
From http://micronations.wikia.com/wiki/Sealand:
"British Government documents, now available to the public under the 30-year expiry of confidentiality, show that the UK drafted plans to take the tower by force, but such plans were not implemented by the then Prime Minister due to the potential for loss of life, and the creation of a legal and public relations disaster."
So clearly the British feel its defenses are sufficient. The subsequent defenses against privateers indicate the same. It is no different than computer security. Anything is hackable, the question is really whether or not your defenses are substantial enough to make attacking you not worth it. Thus the argument is made regardless of what type of craft he fired at.
You didn't claim some the guns were dismantled but some AC replied indicating as much claiming the British removed the weapons from all the forts long before. He pulled the idea out of his backside. Here is an image of Sealand. You can clearly see some of the guns from this vantage. These forts were armed with "3.75-inch guns and two 40 mm Bofors guns."

The Germans are self-policing...
... as shown by the website here: http://de.vroniplag.wikia.com/wiki/Home/English
As an academic who earned a PhD in the US and worked as faculty in Sweden and now Germany, you're being quite naïve if you don't think this happens in every country including the US. The difference is that the Germans self-police (in standard volunteer wiki-style), while the US and Sweden do not, to my knowledge.
As far as it being a "sport", that's ridiculous. Being that we (Germany's inhabitants) take titles very seriously, with good reason, as the Chancellor has a doctorate in Quantum Chemistry, every thesis should be thoroughly scrutinized.
I would wager my degrees that the percentage of pages plagiarized are very similar between the US, Sweden and Germany. We just find the plagiarism over here and hold politicians (and all others) accountable.

Data Logger Cam
The October 2012 edition of Nuts and Volts magazine has just such a project. If you are lucky it is at your news stand now. You can use the "deer cam" as others have suggested. You could also use a Canon Power Shot digital camera in a water tight box with the "updated" firmware. Go to: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK and see what they have to offer. This software DOES NOT harm your camera or modify it. The "hack" is removed when you remove the SD card. You can get used Power Shot cameras on eBay for sub $50. You then place this in a wooden "bat box" or similar item with a small window. You want it to be water proof and obscure. Big battery pack (possibly solar charged) may be useful.

Re:Still on GNOME 2
Sawfish. I'm at the moment using it with the Mate-Desktop (instead of Marco/Metacity) and it's pretty much awesome, I have to say. Highly configurable and has window rules (you want that window always there and in that size without a border, there you go!). Otherwise I've heard good things about OpenBox, BlackBox and Awesome (of course). If you feel really low resource and find some hacking funny...you could try dwm.

Re:$7900
There's an episode of House where this is nicely demonstrated by House and Wilson trying to figure out if Cuddy's daughter has swallowed a coin. On ultrasound it might be a dime, or it may just be an air bubble.
While I've heard that some House episodes are very educational, I can tell you that that House episode was just another medical TV show keeping the public sufficiently ignorant of medicine to ensure that we'll always need health professionals. What the HELL were they doing getting an US!?! I work in an emergency department and anyone with eyes can tell the difference between a foreign body and an air bubble on an X-ray. To my knowledge US is never used to evaluate for foreign body.
Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_body_in_alimentary_tract
GI tract example: http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/776566-overview - Is it a nail, or an air bubble???
However, just because US aren't useful for evaluating foreign bodies it doesn't mean that the technology isn't extremely promising for other factors of disease or (in the case of the article) complications with pregnancy. Can you imagine if these were widely available how easy it would be for a soon-to-be mother to learn the basics on what to look for to prevent a serious complication? Think about how many books and media a pregnant mother reads and intakes to educate themselves on pregnancy to ensure they have a healthy 9 months? If a 3-hour class was offered to mothers about how to look for an US complication and a hand-held US machine was loaned to them for their pregnancy, I'm confident that nearly all would jump at the opportunity. It wouldn't be training them to diagnose themselves or their babies with any disease it would be like, "If you see your baby's umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and you feel funny, then you should probably come see the OB/GYN immediately." That's something you could teach in a 3-hour class.

Radio Shack sells metal detectors for about $100.

$7900
And that's the "buy now" price for the "Interson SeeMore USB Portable Ultrasound Abdominal Probe".
On the other hand...
As someone who had 3 different ultrasound diagnoses, to the same heart condition, by 2 specialists - which in the end turned out to be of viral origin (they were literally chasing shadows); and who later had a dubious privilege of fixing and editing hundreds of ultrasound photos for an ultrasound textbook, with each step done according to the instructions of an instructor/teacher with some 40 years in the ultrasound diagnostic - price of the equipment is not the biggest obstacle in getting the ultrasound "to the masses".It's training and experience.
And you need literally years of both to start making your ultrasound guesses educated.
Cause without both extensive training with an experienced ultrasound technician AND years of experience in doing ultrasounds of that particular section of human body - that whole "subjective interpretation of an objective method" thing amounts to just guessing. There's an episode of House where this is nicely demonstrated by House and Wilson trying to figure out if Cuddy's daughter has swallowed a coin.

Upgrade == new phone?
Try using iOS 5 in your shiny new iPhone 5 for sale since next Friday.
What? I think I need to brush up on my Douglas Adams, that sentence is written in a tense I'm not familiar with.
Your comment appears to suggest that iPhone 4 users will be forced to upgrade to the iPhone 5, and that no other option exists. I know we're knee deep in fanbois here, but owners of previous iPhone versions have multiple options available to them:
- don't buy latest iPhone on release day, keep using current
- don't upgrade OS on old iPhone, keep using current
- change to Android phone and get Google goodness native
Seriously, the upgrade isn't mandatory...

Re:The gun doesn't explode
That's not what the Borderlands 2 wiki says:
"Tediore weapons have a different feel for Borderlands 2, having been described as "Cheap, plastic pieces of crap" and "Wal-Mart guns" by Randy Pitchford himself during a demo presentation. Instead of being reloaded, Tediore weapons are thrown away and explode like grenades; the more ammo left in the clip, the bigger the explosion. A fully-loaded gun regenerates in the user's hand after the expended weapon is discarded. Due to their explosive capabilities, there is a chance they will explode in the user's hand before throwing it away."
