Liar
Point blank first hand knowledge that she's a liar. I went to see her office in NY when I was forced to train my h1B replacement. Their attitude was "too bad, this is part of a larger, more important process of globalization." That is nearly a direct quote from her staffers to me personally when I asked why Americans should yield their jobs to people here on visas. This is when she was a new Senator for NY and before the H1B shit hit had the fan the way it has now and only Norm Matloff and a few other people were talking about h1b fraud. I am sure they felt comfortable sneering at me since they were in their office, their turf and cell phone cameras weren't a thing yet.

Re:That list...
Nobody cares if Taliban wants to call school teachers terrorists, because we know, and they know that's bullshit. We just care what they DO, and what they do is try to scare people into conducting their lives the way their religious say they should. Beard police! No dancing! Fly kites and die!
Indeed, a better example of relevancy probably comes from western perspectives about brainwashing in public > schools.
Why look to an outside group that is widely dismissed already, when you have ones here at home pushing their own message? The question is, who is full of bullshit?
PS, don't worry about the Colonies not having representation in the British Parliament, inhabitants of England didn't, even the rotten boroughs weren't eliminated for another few decades and true suffrage was even longer in developing.
Of course, the US has its own problems with representation today.

Re:Cost?
Chernobyl wasn't 'as bad as it's possible to get it'. If the workers there would have said "Fuck you! Risking my life? I'm going home, now." then it would have been much worse.
Fukushima could have been a lot worse in terms of radioactive pollution landing everywhere around the globe. How much Becquerel could Fukushima have released if all stored fuel rods would have exploded?
This story makes me a bit worried, not you?
Oh, and this one also.
And also this one about the fuel pools is worrying me.

Generally the first thing I hear is an attack on source - all of them if possible. That's just someone who's established a position and has made up their mind no matter what. Usually I try to get both left and right wing sources when I'm trying to give evidence to a point. It's a little harder to do it this time since, with the exception of possibly some websites that support Bernie and want to defend him against the framing he's gotten of astroturfers marching against Trump in his name there's not going to be many left-wing outlets exposing their bread and butter.
I'm not a Trump supporter BTW, I've been voting Libertarian for quite a while and I intend to again. I was even a delegate to the state convention, and the only reason I'm not going to the national convention is economic - I need to work and not spend money on trips to Florida. Perhaps next time.

Rigorous science?
The research funding dictated who had a voice.
And those with the voice, can get more research funding. Is not it nice, when the government is picking winners?
Climate science has a harder problem to address, but is as rigorous as is reasonable in the circumstances.
I wonder, what you mean by "rigorous" here. Lysenko, for example, rigorously persecuted adherents of the reactionary Mendelian genetics. And, when their activities endangered the favor he held with the government, denounced them as "enemies of the people".
Something that could never happen in a free country. Right?
Is it really a reliable scientific theory, if police are called on to silence its opponents?

Re:US presidential campaign and TPP
What makes you say that? Obama was also a vocal opponent of trade deals during his campaign. In fact, both he and Clinton promised to renegotiate NAFTA during the 2008 Democratic primaries. And this was from the hope-and-change candidate that people were literally swooning over.

Not the police!
This guy does not speak for the police. He is the Director of the FBI. He's probably completely making this up, just like he does every other week when talking about just about everything else.
This guy is just cajoling you into thinking that he speaks for police. He's trying to get you to assume that there is some federal hierarchy that all police information rises up through. It's easier to subvert the police into being under federal control if the public thinks they already are, especially if the public thinks there are problems with them that being under federal control will solve, and they're inching that process along step by step.
Don't be fooled by them.

Must be an impossible task.
This is a fairly typical story on a right-wing pseudo-news site: http://www.wnd.com/2015/07/ban...
Now, let us sample some of the comments that could be interpreted as threatening:
"I dare you to come to Texas and tell Texans that you are going after their guns."
"We need to undo everything he put in place while in Office. he is a lying muslim and traitor. We also need to immediately remove ALL of his appointees on day one of the next time we return to a Presidency. This muslim theocracy he works under is illegal."
"Maybe while he's out of the country, we can talk our military into not letting AF One back INTO the country. Tell them to land somewhere else, not AMERICA. Keep him out, Maybe even the Secret Service will do their job of their oath of office to protect our nation from within (obama) and outside. Then he can stay in Kenya, without his protection and live it up! We'll send for AF 1 later, or even blow the damn thing up."
"I hope the military and the police departments do not follow his orders when POTUS decides to grab our guns. I do not want to have to shoot a fellow American, but I have that constitutional right."
"MOLON LABE! Send your storm troopers, you skunk, wannabe Adolf Hitler and you Communist wannabe Josef Stalin. See what happens when free people rise up and take back their country in a revolutionary war against tyranny. Oh did I forget also call you "King Barak the Only"?"
"One if the best reasons for our 2nd Amendment is that we will be able to defend ourselves when the Obama goons come after us!!!"
"omuzloid wont stop until the heart beat of america stops.....this sodomite muzloid is not fit for the office of the president and our elected servants in dc are cow towing to this loathsome peice of trash in the hopes of secureing the illegal power that he has grabbed the republicans are just as guilty as the demicrats.....we need to clean house senate and the presidency and we need to do this before omuzloid can create more havoc and strife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"I look for Obama to go after our guns through his illegal abuse of executive authority. We are the only ones who will stop him and that might not be pretty."
"He wants a revolution, so he can martial law! I say lets give it to him! "
"I want to send my sincere condolences to the families of the officers sent to try and take my GUNS.When our brave first responders follow illegal orders against there oath of office , I know they know better. Someone has to stand up and be first , and if our police and military refuse I WILL STAND ALONE. OUT OF MY COLD DEAD HANDS."That's just one story on one site! It's an impossible task trying to monitor all the potential threats.

Re:MOAH POPCORN
It's almost like free speech is more of a social justice value than a meathead one.
*snort*
http://thoughtcatalog.com/andr...
:God help us if we have to rely on conservatives to defend free speech.
A list of such censorship is basically endless, so I will have to suffice with a not-so-brief list of some of the more egregious examples:
- A student at Purdue was found guilty of "racial harassment" for reading a book called Notre Dame Vs the Klan. (The Klan is the bad guy in the book.)
- A candidate in the European elections was arrested in Britain for quoting a passage from Winston Churchill about Islam.
- Gert Wilders, a politician in the Netherlands, was tried on five counts including "criminally insulting Muslims because of their religion."
- Both Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant were dragged in front of the Canadian Human Rights Commission for being Islamophobic.
- Conservative radio host Michael Savage was banned in Britain.
- The group Women, Action and Media convinced Twitter to allow them help report and censor harassment and hate speech. Twitter subsequently suspended the accounts of the anti-feminist Youtubers Thunderfoot and Mykeru (they were later reinstated). Both of them are liberals, by the way.
- Adam Weinstein at Gawker wants to "Arrest Climate-Change Deniers."
- Brendan Eich was forced to resign as CEO of Mozilla for opposing gay marriage. Another guy was fired because someone eaves dropped on his joke about dongles.
- A group called Color of Change was able to get Patrick Buchanan fired from MSNBC for expressing his incorrect opinions (that have been pretty consistent for the last 50 years) in his book Suicide of a Superpower.
- Allegedly, a man was banned from an Oregon college campus for "resembling a rapist."
- The "Pickup Artist" Julien Blanc was barred from entering the UK for making sexist comments.
- The mayor of Massachusetts banned the word "illegal" when referring to, umm, immigrants who came into the United States without going through the proper, legal channels. The Associated Press did

Re:This whole make your own gun is like the homebr
The "unprecedented storm" already happened a few years ago, when a guy was convicted of "transferring a machine gun" because the semi-auto rifle that he owned malfunctioned and fired 3 rounds before jamming on the range. ATF actually "investigated" his rifle by sticking rounds with progressively softer primers into it until they could "reproduce" it. ATF also refused to provide the details of how they tested the rifle to conclude that it was a "machine gun", and when the guy sued to compel them to disclose those details, the court ruled against him - so to this date, ATF expert's word on the stand that they identified the gun as full auto somehow is all that is known. The guy got 30 months of federal prison.
Note that this is a failure mode that literally any semi-auto firearm firing from a closed bolt is capable of - all it takes is for the firing pin to get stuck in a forward position (for example, because of accumulation of carbon due to firing) and a sufficiently soft primer. It will also consistently cause a jam almost immediately, so it's not actually useful for any practical purpose.

Re:SjwDot.org
but there's an inherent distrust that a male teacher will rape all the female students that basically scare off the male teachers.
Nothing inherent about it, it's a deliberately fostered and carefully cultivated narrative, which like all of these schemes ends up with people unfit for the job being given the job, leading to an epidemic of female teachers raping male and female students. And that list is by no means comprehensive, Fark used to run a daily piece on the latest female teacher/male student paedophile case. At this point it would be a considerable endeavour to gather and organise the ever increasing mountain of cases.

Don't like politicians who sell out to lobbyists? Stop voting for them. Compete with them, win the election, and then refuse to sell out to moneyed interests. Only support like-minded candidates.
I hear this sort of whining often. Stop crying that the "government can't protect you from bad government," and start electing good government officials, and holding them fucking responsible for their behavior.
This isn't hard, in fact it's the easiest problem in the world to solve - if you'd just stop falling prey to the "My side is good, but that other side, they're all badevildoubleplusungood" bullshit that you let your newspapers sell you.

Re: Waste of money
Male teacher bangs student? Male and female alike want his nuts cut off.
Female teacher does the same? Well, the boy was lucky... where were female teachers like that when I was a boy?!You need to get with the times.
Male teachers who have sex with underage female students are viewed as statutory rapists or creeps; women who do the same are perceived as doing the boy a favour or providing a rite of passage, evidenced by the inevitable “Where was she when I was in high school?” cracks.
Sound familiar? The "no harm done" attitude people have towards male victims isn't right, and people's attitudes are changing, albeit slowly.

Re: Simple answer...
1. Taxing marijuana so far has been problematic. Taxing medicine is risky, and resistance to that might cause more problems. Recreational use, of course, has an excellent taxation model in alcohol.
2. Beware of taxing stuff. If they want to, they can kill you if they think you aren't paying those years the way they think you should.

Re:Failed state policies
Yeah, I know, it's frustrating, isn't it? Do a little homework yourself. You'll see that definitions for stillbirth, miscarriage, and neonatal death vary tremendously by country, and are famously all of the map in poorer countries.
The US counts every birth that shows any sign of life - regardless of size or weight - as a live birth. Most European countries, though, don't consider any birth before 26 weeks to be "live births." A fetus needs to be at least 30cm in Switzerland before it's considered a live birth. Has to be at least a pound in Canada, Germany, and Austria. Those don't survive, and aren't considered live births. But in the US, they are (and then are promptly considered cases of infant mortality). About half of infant deaths in the US occur within moments and well within 24 hours of birth, but countries like Japan (with their excellent stats!) don't count them as deaths unless they occur AFTER 24 hours of birth. See how this works? By contrast, in much of Europe, babies born before 26 weeks’ gestation are not considered “live births.” Switzerland only counts babies who are at least 30 centimeters long (11.8 inches) as being born alive. In Canada, Austria and Germany, only babies weighing at least a pound are considered live births. Read more at http://www.wnd.com/2009/09/111... -
Re:Out with the old... or not?
Gee, lets do the same with everything. No government regulation for anything. After all, you can choose what is an acceptable risk. So what if you didn't know that Uber drivers aren't properly insured? Why not unregulated food manufacturers who can sell you bacteria-laced meat? Why not unregulated cars that are unsafe at any speed?
Yes, food & automobile manufacturers have a strong incentive to kill their customers. It's good for long-term profits.
Why not unregulated medicines that are as likely to kill as to cure?
Vioxx was FDA approved, and killed 60,000 people. Meanwhile, effective drugs are unnecessarily kept off of the market by the FDA, like Provenge. And those are only 2 examples.
And unregulated banks that can take your money and run?
Or the regulated banks that can do that legally.
Hey, go all the way - allow the issuing of unregulated currencies
Why not? The Fed has done such a bang-up job.
the use of non-credentialed teachers from the local state pen, and everything else?
Yes, credentialed pedophiles that the teachers' union support are much better.
The fact is that regulations are supposed to ensure that the consumer doesn't have to spend hours investigation who is and who isn't competent themselves, as well as provide a feedback mechanism when the regulations are broken.
There are a boatload of ways to find out about what products are good and which businesses provide competent employees, such as the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Reports, Underwriters Laboratory, as well as review web sites, etc. I'm not saying unregulated markets would be perfect, but I believe that they would by and large be a better solution than the current regulatory morass we have in this country.

Re:NSA scorecard on on truth?
Just do a search on "IRS lies to congress". PLENTY of citations there. Here's just a few.
Just to be pedantic, organizations don't lie, people do, though I know there is a great tendency to personify organizations. The IRS didn't lie to Congress, people in the IRS lied to Congress. Likewise, the NSA didn't lie in (fill in an occurrence here), people belonging to the NSA lied. At times, multiple high-ranking personnel of such organization, even the heads, may have even ordered such lies to occur. Labeling these situations as "ThreeLetterAgency lied" is designed to imply that all personnel of such agencies therefore also lie, and that is not true, but it make for great ad hominem attacks, and is widely used here on Slashdot.

Re:But...
OK, then maybe we should go the other extreme. Lets take Kennesaw, GA- http://www.freerepublic.com/fo... or http://www.wnd.com/2007/04/411...
Every head of household is required to own a gun. Their crime rates, including murder, are down across the board. Morton, IL that took the opposite route banned all Guns, and has had increased crime rates.
Then there is Switzerland, with the majority of households owning a gun. They have a murder rate of
.7 (.52 for murder by guns). So maybe the answer is to have everyone trained and own a gun. After all, everything is on the table.
Or maybe we should look into curing our social ills. Removing guns from law abiding citizens does not remove them from criminals and case studies show that it emboldens criminals. I agree, we need to do something, taking away guns is not the answer.

Re:Not to defend America or anything,
My problem with these rankings is that they omit so much. The self-imposed censorship of stories that fail to flatter the liberal narrative is rampant and a big liability for the US. Last week we once again observe the blackout of reporting on ever growing mob violence in our cities. Tomorrow we'll watch as our MSM spins the popular backlash against socialist revolution in Venezuela.
Whinging about injustices on war-on-terror whistle blowers while ignoring these other, obvious problems with our media is selective hand-wringing and not credible.

Re:well i'm reassured!
I've already answered the question of beards a couple posts up.
Regarding racial integration, blacks have never had any special accomodations that weren't strictly health related. Specifically, when I was in the Navy, you were required to be either clean shaven, OR to grow a proper beard (only if you were a petty officer, junior ranks were required to be clean shaven). Black guys, however, often sported facial hair that couldn't be called a beard by any stretch of the imagination. The reason? A lot of black guys develop bumps on their faces from ingrown hairs when they shave. Wait - said "a lot of black guys". More accurately, SOME black guys develop those bumps. I don't know the percentage - some of them shaved and had no problems, some had problems - and I'm sure that some who COULD shave just decided that they weren't doing that stupid shit with the razor every day.
Regarding gays in the military - AC posted a link above that you might find interesting: http://www.wnd.com/2013/05/mil...

Re:well i'm reassured!
The numbers published regarding sexual assaults on women are alarming no matter how you view them - but often enough, accusations of sexual harassment and/or assault are political tools used against good soldiers.
Except, the number of sexual assaults in the military isn't any higher than the civilian population when you look at other demographics, such as age. In fact, the military has an environment more conducive to reporting sexual assaults than any university system.
The other thing that rarely gets reported, is that since the repeal of don't ask, don't tell, the overwhelming majority of this "increase" in sexual assaults have been male on male.

Top official in Obama birth mystery killed - Loretta Fuddy
Woman lone fatality in Hawaii plane crash
http://www.wnd.com/2013/12/top-official-in-obama-birth-mystery-killed/
"A key Hawaii official in the dispute over Barack Obama's birth certificate - who lifted state restrictions to allow the White House to present the document to the public - has died in a plane crash.
Loretta Fuddy, the state health department director, was the only fatality among nine people aboard a Cessna Grand Caravan that went down at about 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday while heading to Honolulu.
Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC that the other eight people aboard were rescued from the site of the water crash.
KITV-TV in Honolulu reported Fuddy had been on health department business. Keith Yamamoto, the department's deputy director, also was aboard and survived.
Makani Kai officials said it was was the company's first fatality.
WND has reported since before the 2008 election on the dispute over Obama's birth documentation.
Fuddy took over the agency when Gov. Neil Abercrombie took office.
USA Today reported on a statement from Abercrombie.
"Our hearts are broken," he said. "Loretta was deeply loved and respected. She was selfless, utterly dedicated and committed to her colleagues in the Department of Health and to the people of Hawaii. Her knowledge was vast; her counsel and advice always given from her heart as much as from her storehouse of experience."
Recently she had been working on the state's Obamacare website.
On the subject of Obama's background, Abercrombie, who claimed to have had a relationship with Obama's parents in Hawaii as a fellow student, vowed to settle the dispute once and for all but finally gave up, insisting his hands were tied.
Read all the arguments in the birth certificate controversy, in "Where's the Birth Certificate?" and check out the special reports, banners and bumper stickers on the subject.
Abercrombie told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser regarding Obama's birth documentation: "It actually exists in the archives, written down." The London Daily Mail reported, however, Abercrombie "suggested that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist within the vital records maintained by the Hawaii Department of Health."
Later, Obama asked for copies of the document, and under Fuddy, the state instantly waived a long-claimed ban on reproducing long-form birth certificates. On Fuddy's instructions, copies were produced and delivered to Judith Corley, a private attorney for Obama.
Fuddy had written to Obama: "We hope that issuing you these copies of your original Certificate of Live Birth will end the numerous inquiries received by the Hawaii Department of Health to produce this document."
Immediately after the delivered copy was posted on the White House website, however, numerous computer graphics and software experts declared it fraudulent.
The birth certificate dispute centers on the constitutional requirement that a president be a "natural-born citizen." Some argue that even if Obama was born in Hawaii, he was does not qualify because his father was a Kenyan citizen.
Still a live issue
The one official law enforcement investigation into the issue, conducted on the orders of Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio, concluded the document posted by the White House is a forgery.
Arpaio has said the investigation is ongoing and more evidence has been discovered to bolster his team's conclusion.
WND reported Mike Zullo, the lead investigator for Arpaio's Cold Case Posse in Arizona, has contributed evidence to a court case pending before the Alabama Supreme Court.
He has testified that the White House computer image of Obama's birth certificate contains anomalies that are unexplainable unless the document had been fabricated piecemeal by human inter

Top official in Obama birth mystery killed
http://www.wnd.com/2013/12/top-official-in-obama-birth-mystery-killed/
"A key Hawaii official in the dispute over Barack Obamaâ(TM)s birth certificate â" who lifted state restrictions to allow the White House to present the document to the public - has died in a plane crash.
Keith Yamamoto, the departmentâ(TM)s deputy director, also was aboard and survived.
Makani Kai officials said it was was the companyâ(TM)s first fatality.
WND has reported since before the 2008 election on the dispute over Obamaâ(TM)s birth documentation.
Fuddy took over the agency when Gov. Neil Abercrombie took office.
USA Today reported on a statement from Abercrombie.
âoeOur hearts are broken,â he said. âoeLoretta was deeply loved and respected. She was selfless, utterly dedicated and committed to her colleagues in the Department of Health and to the people of Hawaii. Her knowledge was vast; her counsel and advice always given from her heart as much as from her storehouse of experience.â
Recently she had been working on the stateâ(TM)s Obamacare website.
On the subject of Obamaâ(TM)s background, Abercrombie, who claimed to have had a relationship with Obamaâ(TM)s parents in Hawaii as a fellow student, vowed to settle the dispute once and for all but finally gave up, insisting his hands were tied.
Read all the arguments in the birth certificate controversy, in âoeWhereâ(TM)s the Birth Certificate?â and check out the special reports, banners and bumper stickers on the subject.
Abercrombie told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser regarding Obamaâ(TM)s birth documentation: âoeIt actually exists in the archives, written down.â The London Daily Mail reported, however, Abercrombie âoesuggested that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist within the vital records maintained by the Hawaii Department of Health.â
Later, Obama asked for copies of the document, and under Fuddy, the state instantly waived a long-claimed ban on reproducing long-form birth certificates. On Fuddyâ(TM)s instructions, copies were produced and delivered to Judith Corley, a private attorney for Obama.
Fuddy had written to Obama: âoeWe hope that issuing you these copies of your original Certificate of Live Birth will end the numerous inquiries received by the Hawaii Department of Health to produce this document.â
Immediately after the delivered copy was posted on the White House website, however, numerous computer graphics and software experts declared it fraudulent.
The birth certificate dispute centers on the constitutional requirement that a president be a âoenatural-born citizen.â Some argue that even if Obama was born in Hawaii, he was does not qualify because his father was a Kenyan citizen.
Still a live issue
The one official law enforcement investigation into the issue, conducted on the orders of Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio, concluded the document posted by the White House is a forgery.
Arpaio has said the investigation is ongoing and more evidence has been discovered to bolster his teamâ(TM)s conclusion.
WND reported Mike Zullo, the lead investigator for Arpaioâ(TM)s Cold Case Posse in Arizona, has contributed evidence to a court case pending before the Alabama Supreme Court.
He has testified that the White House computer image of Obamaâ(TM)s birth certificate conta

Re:Reasonable expectations
The logic espoused by the quoted idea is the same as saying if police were to start strip searching everyone without cause, it would be reasonable simply because it always happens.
But they already have been doing that:

Rebels released the chemical weapons.
There appears to be much evidence that it was in fact the rebels that used the chemical weapons which were supplied by the Saudis,
1) Video evidence of Chemical weapons being launched.
2) Photographic evidence of the weapons being Saudi.
3) Testimony from Syrian rebels from the faction that had the weapons and admitted they didn't know what they were doing with them.http://www.wnd.com/2013/08/video-shows-rebels-launching-gas-attack-in-syria/
And anyway, what is American Military going to do, team up with Al Qaeda and Hezbollah to attack Syria and kill hundreds of thousands more people in the middle east?

Re:The terrorists are already here.
What about the WingNutDaily; my guess: being a conservative creature, WND would be as far as possible from embracing Russia as one can imagine.
I thought about that. OTOH, Putin and Russia aren't exactly poster children for socialist revolution, are they? In a lot of ways, Putin is as rightwing as WND, and neither one of them likes Obama. Politics makes strange bedfellows. After all, the US, Al Quaida, and Israel are on the same side, so why not WND and Russia on the other side?

Re:The terrorists are already here.
There's really no need to hire someone in Damascus. Just send the chemicals from the CIA to the Saudi Mukhabarat, they'll pass it on to Al Nusra or an like-minded affiliate and BOOM there's your red line.
And there are stories already, where some rebels tell an AP reporter that their guys were just transporting/storing the shit for another group, and didn't know what it was, and there was this accident, and a bunch of their guys got killed.
You mean stories like this?
Could even be true. Of course, it could be a cover story for a rebel gas attack intended to be blamed on the government ("we didn't do it on purpose!"), or one rebel group setting another up to take the fall, or it could be Syrian government disinformation (Russian news sources are carrying this story), or it could just be another rumor in the fog of war.
