To Be Fair, Licking Consoles Isn't New
In all fairness to the, uh, interesting people doing this, they're not completely off their rockers. Licking consoles was a thing before social media even existed.
A then-unknown Jessica Chobot (who these days hosts shows for Nerdist) basically started the whole thing by licking a PSP as a gag photo in 2005. Since then, someone, somewhere (usually Chobot, it feels like) licks a launch console.
The only novel change here is people licking the cartridge instead of the console, and that's due to the aforementioned use of a bittering agent. Maybe Nintendo got it wrong here and needs to go into licking controls instead of motion controls...

Who is this Brianna Wu anyway?
Get the politics out of my dev. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... https://encyclopediadramatica....

Re:Malignant narcissist upset, news at 11.

Re:Self sacrifice?
Yes. The Encylopedia Dramatica article on Wu is probably the most informative thing out there. But yes, harassing themselves on Steam from their dev account. Also when they claimed they "fled their home" they were suddenly back, and giving interviews. Then there was the times they tried to claim "gamergate was going to use sarin gas at pax." Funny thing about that, it was one of their own anti-gg supporters who made the threat. You can find all that in the ED article.

Re: You mean something awful victim?
there is a whole thing about her transition, how she used to do a college comic as a man and then transitioned to a woman, and as a woman admitted that the college comics written by her as a man were in fact her.
even the characters in her game are the same exact characters (she drew them for the comics) in the comic, same name, same style, same characters.
i googled brianna wu college comic and found it
https://encyclopediadramatica....
makes a pretty clear cut case that she was a he.
(sorry if i messed up the pronouns or was insensitive and such, it confuses me going back and forth between genders when describing someone.)

Re:What I love
You should check out the gamergate page. Not only have dozens of editors been banned for edit warring, but the entire thing is a complete mess where even factual information is removed because it's contrary to the people who are pushing a narrative.[...] It's pretty sad when "know your meme" and "encyclopedia dramatica" have more factual articles.
Direct links for the lazy:
That's the same article where a dozen hardcore feminists were banned for edit warring,
Oops, you believed the Guardian. It's a common mistake. What actually happened was that one feminist editor Ryulong was banned after he was caught begging for money from the activist group GamerGhazi which was formed by Reddit's SRS clique to suppress the spread of information about Gamergate. That's like asking for money from the Trump campaign after changing the name of Hillary Clinton to "Lying Hillary." They were still going to let him off the hook but Ryulong acted like a total ass on the last few days of the arbitration case so one or two of the votes flipped.
Every other hardcore feminist editor got away with it. Then the admins took vengeance for their friend Ryulong by instantly banning anybody who reported the misbehavior of any of the hardcore feminist editors in any other area of the wiki. They also took out a bunch of the Japanese editors who tried to correct Ryulong's misspellings where this white fanboy had made himself Wikipedia's final judge of Japanese spelling and grammar and had previously banned anyone who disagreed with him. When Gamaliel got elected to the Arbitration Committee a year later, ArbCom quickly banned two prominent editors who had presented evidence against Gamaliel during the Gamergate case, Cla68 and The Devil's Advocate, without presenting any justification for either ban. It was straight out of Kafka.
Some people still mistakenly think that the adults will take charge if you stay calm and reasonable and don't break the rules. That has been tried and results in a quick and permanent ban. Explaining your own position is "soapboxing" and "beating a dead horse" and is grounds for a ban. Having strong sources to support your position makes you a "POV-pusher" who is "not here to build the encyclopedia", which justifies a permanent ban. Presenting evidence of rulebreaking by the admins is "trolling" and "sockpuppetry" and merits an instant ban, and they are likely to remove your comments and insult you on the way out. If you try to appeal your ban on the grounds that you never broke any policy, your appeal will be rejected and you are likely to have your talk page access revoked. You are required to confess to sins you have not committed and proclaim that the admins are correct in policy when they are not. The place is run by completely irrational people who belong in an insane asylum.

Re:Another attempt to start anew...
The lack of shared libraries are an intentional feature of Go.
I know, it is intentional. I just think, it is a flaw, rather than a "feature".
Generally in a cluster environment they cause more problems than they solve.
Not true at all. Apache is regularly used with shared modules — though it is possible to compile modules in, nobody really does that in practice, and some functionality is only available from vendors in a form of precompiled shared library.
Java, Perl, Python, TCL, PHP all make use of run-time loadable shared libraries — solving problems, which Go can not solve without fully recompiling one's application every time.
There isn't anything fundamentally special about Go that
...Stop it right there. Simply, there is not anything fundamentally special about Go. Period.
There is an open bug to track it, and while the bug is very old, it still gets regular updates.
Well, that's a relief...
If you make a HelloWorld app, then the big bloat in your app will be the garbage collector.
Why can't that boilerplate, that's included into every Go-built executable, live in some kind of libgo.so, so that multiple Go-apps on the same system can share the bloat?
You should settle on a Go program of any significance being about 2MB to 10MB
Why TF should I "settle"? If I have 3 programs, that all need to parse JSON, for example, why must each one of them include the entire JSON-parsing functionality in its own executable, instead of sharing? And then, when whatever 3rd-party that maintains the JSON-parsing code releases a critical update, I have to recompile all of these executables — instead of simply replacing one library... Are you telling me, this is, somehow an advantage?
Yes, modern machines have so much RAM and other resources, a developer and a sysadmin can get away placing their own convenience over performance. Puppet and Sensu, for example, both come with their own version of Ruby bundled — few people are bothered by the fact, that the two always-running daemons, both implemented in Ruby, would not — without some work — share the same Ruby-environment.
Similarly, Java-apps are usually shipping with their own JRE included — and it is not uncommon to find multiple instances of, say, Tomcat on the same machine running under different Java-versions — a waste of tens of megabytes of RAM.
But, at least, a competent DevOps department can take measures to avoid such waste. You can convince a Java and a Ruby app, it is Ok to run under JRE or Ruby of your choice. Go makes that flat out impossible, because everything is thrown into one executable... For your convenience — don't you worry your pretty little head.
Which takes me right back to my usual rant... Per Moore's law, our computers today are 1024-times more powerful than they were 15 years ago. Do you think, your user-experience, however you choose to quantify it, has improved 1000 times? I certainly don't... Today's desktop-environments and browsers are better than they were then, but not by a factor greater than 5. The rest of the stupendous hardware advances were "eaten" by the sloppy developers (and sysadmins/operators) instead of being passed on to users.

"The Internet... it's full of assholes!" That should be my new signature. I've been on the 'net long enough that that was exactly the result I would have expected, had I known that it would modify itself based on tweets received. There's another rule of the internet: allow users to post content, and it will be filled with dick pics/drawings of dicks/stories about PedoBear, etc. Basically, this was yet another illustration that the Greater Internet Fuckwad theory is too true to be funny. https://encyclopediadramatica....

Ask Ars' Jeremy Reimer & Jay Little why they have to host their playpen private sites at servers other than CrystalTech or Shaw....
Oh, believe me, I have. And I know someone who was an admin at Shaw at that time. You are such a fucking liar. (Like that other poster said--you're lucky as hell not to be in prison.)
You're a classic bully--you taunt and torment someone until they get so pissed off, they act without thinking and then you start whining, "THEY'RE DOING TEH BAD STUFFS 2 ME BAWWWWWWWWWW". [<= TRIGGER WARNING: Libellous photo of APK]
As for your app having or not having bugs--that's a nonsense discussion because your app IS a bug, and you even BRAG about what makes it that way. Watch yourself get pwned right here, genius.

Re:Dumb stuff
it definitely doesn't mean that you should be explaining to your 11th grade Computer Programmers that this particular image isn't really porn because it's only a headshot
So basically, your argument is that, even thought it doesn't show anything, the image is still pornographic. That's exactly like saying your post is nothing but pornography, because all the letters you used have at some point also been used in a porno.
Or better (worse?) yet, that all images everywhere are porn, because of Instant Rule 34. (WARNING!!! TOTALLY NSFW!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!) -
